    Divisional Head: Strategic Marketing

    Primary Fuctions :

    • To manage and exercise control over the strategic marketing function with the aim to maintain an impartial, accountable, transparent and efficient strategic marketing service within the City of Tshwane, subject to legislated context responsibilities, national standards and the directives of the Group Head: Communication, Marketing and Events.     Divisional Head: Events Management

    Job Purpose

    • To exercise control over the events management function with the aim to maintain an impartial, accountable, transparent and efficient events management service within the City of Tshwane, subject to legislated context responsibilities, national standards and the directives of the Group Head: Communication, Marketing and Events.

    Application Requirements:

    • A relevant bachelor’s degree in Events Management, Tourism or any other study field related to the position
    • A master’s degree in a study field related to the position will be an added advantage
    • Registration with a relevant professional body will be an added advantage
    • At least ten years’ experience in a events management environment and/or tourism, with at least five years at senior management level, preferably in local government
    • Good knowledge and interpretation of policy and legislation
    • Good knowledge of performance management
    • Good governance
    • Good knowledge of supply chain management regulations and the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act, 2000 (Act 5 of 2000)
    • Ability to make high-risk decisions of a long-term and strategic nature

    • Compliance with the MFMA unit standards, as prescribed by Regulation 493 of 15 June 2007, as published in Government Gazette 29967 of 15 June 2007, will be an added advantage, but the incumbent must comply within the prescribed 18-month period
    • No criminal record (excluding previous conviction(s) relating to political activities in the previous dispensation) and candidates will undergo security vetting

    Job Purpose

    • To render an assessor and general office administration support service to legal advisors to enable them to finalise claims and litigation for and against the City of Tshwane

    Application Requirements:

    • Grade 12 with Mathematics as subject

    • Manage allocated litigated matters in the office by advising on the appointment of attorneys and attending consultations and court on behalf of the City
    • Attend to the execution of court orders and follow up on the payment of all fees and costs incurred
    • Attend to the collection of cost orders, if applicable
    • Ensure that departments are informed of cases against them and advise on proactive measures to limit avoidable litigation
    • Ensure that legal documents and other contractual documents are effectively drafted, reviewed, interpreted and vetted
