THE JOB AT A GLANCE
The Learning and Development Manager will be responsible for managing the Learning & Development function and ensuring all L&D initiatives are aligned with the HC strategy as well as the overall business strategy for the achievement of RMA’s operational and strategic objectives and its commitment to a building a high-performance culture. WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Revise and Implement Clear Policies, Process, Procedures, Systems and Guidelines
- Lead on the production of learning and development policy, standards, and guidelines, including the preparation of the annual Learning Plan, taking account of current legislation and recommendations and the future direction of the Company.
- Lead on the development of quality systems and processes to identify, approve, plan, design, implement and evaluate all learning and development activity, including training needs analysis, training plans, effective use of training resource, accreditation processes, flexible training packages, evaluation, audit, and monitoring of training/study leave activity.
Curriculum / Program Design and Delivery
- Ensure that the RMA curriculum and that the development of the training material addresses training needs and conforms to quality standards.
- In collaboration with the quality assurance, internal audit and risk teams ensure that lessons are learnt from issues arising from risk reports/complaints etc. and that they are promptly and positively addressed and incorporated into learning material.
Compliance
- Ensure that the SDF completes and submit the WSP, ATR and Pivotal reports to the correct SETA, before the deadline. Advise the organisation on the implementation of the WSP.
Team Management
- Act as a role model by demonstrating leadership and knowledge, and by maintaining credibility within the Company, ensuring a positive image of the Company is maintained.
- Manage a team comprising of facilitators, material design developers, SDF and administrators. Liaise with trainers and subject matter experts who report into business and report on the quality of their training. Ensure that on the job learning is also recorded and reported on.
Stakeholder Management
- Attend external meetings, representing the Company, and lead on delegated aspects of project work according to the needs of the Company, ensuring that outcomes are communicated effectively and by discussing all relevant details with all stakeholders before decisions are made.
Requirements
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent
- Registered Assessor and Moderator with INSETA or other SETAs. Clear understanding of the new SETA landscape. 5 years WSP, ATR and Pivotal submission experience
- Registered Skills Development Facilitator
- Minimum of 8 years working experience in the L&D field
- Experience in implementing learnerships, internships and apprenticeships
- Solid experience and track record of achieving in leading an operational service in complex and pressurised technical environments
- Experience in managing complex and inter-related contractual arrangements linked to internal and / externally delivered services
- Minimum of 4 years comprehensive working knowledge of HRIS systems particular to training. Experience with learner management systeams and e-learning systems.

Meeting Administrative Support
- Review and ensure all Submissions by the Co Sec department are within required standards.

Board Administration and Support
Board evaluation
- Assists with procuring of service provider.
- Ensures letter of letter of engagement is received.
- Ensures that the service provider sends questionnaires to the directors.
Board Development
- Responsible for board development requests for Board members, i.e. provide information on programs board members wish to attend, register board members for training, workshops etc and ensure that payment is made prior to training being attended.
Director induction and declaration
- Manages the annual and quarterly director declaration and Executive declaration.
- Liaises with directors to facilitate ongoing training.
- Receives and follows up on all director requests.
Ensure Compliance by the RMA Group of Companies, Directors and Management Team with Legislation
- Communicates with marketing on changes to directors information for the website;
- Ensures reporting templates are available on the website
- Liaises with marketing to ensure statutory documents and approved policies from Governance are available and published accordingly
End-to End Arrangement of Management of the Corporate Calendar, Statutory Audits and Year End Returns
- Support with the Administration of payment of directors / Non-Executive Director (NED) fees, ensuring that correct payment is made by accurately monitoring meeting attendance.
- Update remuneration certificates annually and file to regulatory and auditors.
- Assist with regulatory submissions – PA and CIPC - through a thorough understanding of the process, conducting checks, making payment, following up on documents for submission.
Requirements
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE?
- NQF Level 6: Secretarial diploma and other relevant qualifications relating to a company secretarial administrative role
- 5 years’ experience in an administrative role
- Experience in a company secretariate or legal environment (advantageous)
- Ability to take accurate minutes of meetings
- Ability to liaise effectively with top management and board
- Familiarity with Board management systems

As the Claims Assessor, you will be reporting to the Team Leader: Claims Assessor. You will be responsible for adjudicating and processing claims in an effective and efficient manner within the prescribed guidelines set out by Rand Mutual Assurance.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Claims Adjudication:
- Verify claims captured for correctness and compliance
- Capture / accept additional information on claims i.e. medical reports
- Ensure all documents required to process a claim are indexed and filed into the system
- Add meaningful and accurate notes to ensure complete synopsis of claim on the system
- Update requirements on claims and ensure they are always accurate and up to date.
Claims Management:
- Manage claims in line with individual targets
- Review of claims in line with process, authority limits and within agreed timelines
- Escalate where required within authority limits
- Management of medical reports for claims with Permanent Disability
- Communicate claims process to both the employer and employee as set out in the claim’s management processes
- Timeous management of workflows and notifications.
Adjudicate and process payments for claims:
- Adjudication and processing of TTD benefits including approval within authority limits
- Adjudicating and processing payment of sundry invoices within authority limits
- Process Permanent Disability claims.
Customer Service:
- Regularly communicate and liaise verbally and in writing with customers/suppliers/visitors/enquirers and relevant staff
- Interpret and respond clearly and effectively to spoken requests over the phone or in person, and to verbal or written instructions
- Manage walk-in queries as and when required in line with the RMA Service Catalogue
- Handle customer inquiries both telephonically and by email
- Research required information using available resources
- Provide customers with accurate product and service information in an efficient manner
- Update existing customer personal information on the system
- Deal with all customers in a professional and empathetic manner.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE?
- FAIS Regulatory Examination (RE5)
- NQF Level 5 Higher Certificate in a FAIS Recognised Qualification
