ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Specialist Technology Connectivity will be a subject matter expert with skills to manage tactical and operational environments of Digital Operations which is focused on supporting South32 technology team. With
a customer success centric mindset, they will facilitate and oversee all execution within the operation.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Managing the provision of digital technology-based services to meet defined organisational needs and business plans;
- Develop and establish governance, practices, and processes for digital technology operations -based services;
- Delivering management, technical and administrative services to support and maintain applications and systems;
- Manage the deployment, configuration and operation of Applications, operating systems and Infrastructure;
- Adhere to the Technology processes and procedures specifically the customer engagement, change and communication plans and strategies;
- Coordinating responses to incident reports, minimising negative impacts, and restoring service as quickly as possible;.

- Contribute to the fostering of a continuous improvement culture to ensure ongoing enhancement and optimization.
ABOUT YOU:
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Minimum of three years’ experience required in a Technology environment;
- Experience working in a global technology environment will be advantageous;
- Good knowledge in Microsoft software products, data security and privacy, internet applications, troubleshooting issues and operating systems is preferred;
- Experience in working with enterprise systems SAP and enterprise applications (MS Teams);
- Experience in application and service management at a local and global scale;
- Experience of working with multiple vendors and service providers.
Qualifications for this role are:
- BTech or National Diploma in Digital Technology from an accredited institute.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is a permanent full-time position.
As a Principal Aluminium Smelting, you will be responsible for Providing highly specialised technical support, governance and guidance to the global South32 Aluminium smelters/Projects design/expansions in regard to specific technical processes in Aluminium Smelting (Reduction, Carbon, Casthouse and gas treatment plants), and supports operational staff in their application of operational practices. This covers the South32 smelters at Hillside, MOZAL and Alumar.Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Designs and owns technical standards and governance practices applicable to the smelters;
- Designs and executes governance for relevant technical areas such as raw material qualification;
- Executes the Level 2 technical governance audits for the South32 Aluminium smelters across relevant production areas of technical stewardship (e.g. Reduction, Carbon, Casthouse, Projects, Life of Operations Plan (LoOP);
- Provides technical support to the South32 Aluminium smelters, Projects design/ expansions, relating to relevant technical stewardship areas in Reduction, Carbon, Casthouse;
- Drives the consistent expectations, understanding and application of Aluminium smelting across Senior Leadership;
- Provides guidance to Senior Leadership on technical risk management and relevant mitigating actions for the South32 global Aluminium Operations at Hillside, MOZAL and Alumar.
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Minimum 15 years’ experience with Aluminium Pechiney AP30+ technology, which include: Reduction experience (required),Carbon Plant experience (required),Casthouse (optional) and Gas treatment plants (optional);
- Depth of applied technical knowledge from working in Aluminium smelting operational context.Qualifications for this role are:
- Relevant technical Degree (Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering);
- Commercial/Business Degree/Diploma will be highly regarded.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
This role is a permanent full-time position.
As an Artisan Electrician, you will be responsible for the execution of Maintenance activities during plant shut or special interventions. The main task is to carry out maintenance of equipment activities safely as well as testing and commissioning of work carried prior to handover to operations.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Ensure compliance to the SAP process for work execution and capture related transactional data into the SAP system;
- Execute work orders as per schedule and relevant work instructions associated with the work orders;
- Ensure adequate scoping of corrective work to facilitate the planning process;
- Ensure returns of unused or repairable materials are processed accurately.
ABOUT YOU:
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in maintenance as a qualified Electrician is essential;
- 2 years and more experience in heavy industrial or plant environment is essential
- ABB Robotic experience will be advantageous
- Maintenance and Fault finding on PLC, Alan Bradley variable speed drives, direct online starters, forward reverse starters, and Siemens switch gear is essential;
- Experience in Water cooling plants is essential;
- Experience in Ladle and tube cleaning machines is essential.
Qualifications for this role are:
- Valid Code B (08) Driver’s license is essential;
- N3 Technical Certificate and a recognized Electrical trade test.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
This role is a permanent full-time position.
- As an Operation Control Centre Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the Operations Control Centre team and process in accordance with the Mine Plan and Mine requirements.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Evaluate and improve mining, mine planning and fixed plant processes and systems and implement critical controls to improve safety and plant/mine processes to optimize production;
- Participate in the development of and interpret and ensure the execution of Short Term Mine Plans (daily, weekly, monthly);
- Optimise the utilization of the Load and Haulage fleet using the OCC Fleet Management System;
- Manage contractors as SPA;
- Supporting LEAN and Continuous Improvement;
- Develop systems that support change initiatives, to be managed locally while maintaining simplicity and standardization.
ABOUT YOU:
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Must have a minimum of 4 years relevant experience in a mining or business improvement environment of which at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity;
- Understanding mine information systems, sound knowledge of excel, power BI, powerpoint, SCADA, fleet management systems and “the visual workplace”;
- Knowledge of LEAN, RCA/PPS methods and FMECA methods;
- Knowledge of production planning and management systems.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As an Artisan Assistant you will be responsible for safely assisting artisans with maintenance of machinery and resolving of breakdowns. Compliance to all applicable procedures is essential.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Assist artisan with the daily maintenance and inspections;
- Basic use of hand tools;
- Apply health, safety and housekeeping standard;
- Participate in investigations into workplace incidents,
- Report any unsafe behaviour, conditions and incidents to the responsible person;
- Conduct pre-use inspections, routine inspections and report defects;
- Conduct risk assessment before all tasks and identify risks and hazards;
- Keep all equipment clean and in a good condition all the time.
ABOUT YOU:
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Must have a minimum of 2 year’s experience in a maintenance environment;
- In depth knowledge of Surface Mining Principles advantageous;
- Experience in plant maintenance or fitting, boiler making or electrical is advantageous

As a specialist in training, you will be responsible for managing and coordinate the South 32 Learning and Training framework, practices, and governance to enable Hotazel Manganese Mines workforce development and competency by providing the right skills and capabilities to meet short and long-term business needs.

- Partners with key stakeholders to execute the learning and training framework and practices.

ABOUT YOU;
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Must have a minimum of 5 Years’ experience in an open cast mining of which at least 2 years Mine Training Experience in a Supervisory capacity;
- Understanding of learning and development including adult learning principles, instructional design, and program evaluation;
- Knowledge & Experience of the South African Skills Development Act & Framework and all applicable related legislations.
- Knowledge & Experience of the BBBE Act, Mining Charter, Social & labour Plans and all applicable legislations;
- Experience leading the design and implementation of learning strategies, projects and initiatives in commercial and/or industrial environments, utilising technology for improved learning transfer for ROI.
Qualifications for this role are:
- Degree or National Diploma in HR/HRD or relevant;
- Registered Skills Development Facilitator;
- Registered Assessor and Moderator;
- Accredited Mining Certification (Trade, Mineral Processing Blasting, Certificate) (Advantageous).
