    Quality Control Manager - TMC

    IS THIS JOB FOR YOU ?

    • Tertiary qualification at degree/ diploma level in a chemistry, chemical engineering, or quality discipline.
    • At least 4-5 years of experience in quality control and working with quality management system i.e. ISO 9001:2015. ISO 9001:2015 training.
    • Experience in the cement and coatings industry or a related, industry.
    • Sound knowledge of Safety, environmental affairs, laboratory operation and quality control, specifically ISO 9001:2015
    • Must have very good analytical skills
    • Fully computer literate, preparation of technical reports and presentations tailored to a wide range of audience levels
    • Hands on experience of administering and maintaining an ISO 9001:2015 system is essential
    • Ability to prioritise, plan, follow up and execute projects is essential

    • To maintain and continually improve the established Quality Systems of the company
    • To co-ordinate and budget for all external tests in order to meet Group requirements
    • To ensure all raw material purchases are adequately defined and meet fitness for use criteria
    • To conduct proactive and reactive technical visits to external customers in order to reduce customer complaints and improve customer relations and confidence in our products.
    • To investigate the validity of customer complaints and give feed back to customers and the sales team.
    • To ensure all RSLE requests are completed on time
    • To ensure that all COA requests are completed on time
    • To conduct factory investigations on batches and implement solutions
    • To mentor, coach and train staff
    • Oversee testing and inspection processes and quality verification procedures
    • Conduct adjustment trials in the laboratory on batches that require adjustments, and issue adjustments to the plant.
    • Reworking of batches into production batches. Conduct all laboratory work and implement the rework.
    • Trends on adjustments done on batches, making up of the samples with plant raw materials and advise a way forward.
    • Ordering of consumables and PPE to ensure lab is functional
    • To facilitate the collection, storage and dumping of the retain samples and wastage in the laboratory
    • To make the final decision on rejection or acceptance of quarantined products.
    • Responsible for calibration and maintenance of all lab equipment to ensure availability at all times
    • To prepare and control section annual budget
    • To prepare weekly, monthly and annual quality reports for the management team.
    • Implement/ follow up on corrective actions, investigation of non conformances
    • To prepare for ISO9001 external audits and manage internal audits as per annual schedule
    • To report on annual and monthly basis the efficiency of QMS to management through management reviews.
    • Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of Total product quality pillars of the World Class Manufacturing process.
    • Perform all such duties and/or activities assigned by management as and when required.
    • Execute all WCM activities and projects as and when required.
    • Reporting of Safety and Environmental Incidents (TF 1-5, EVE) as required

    • Appropriate university degree (BSC; B.Eng. Electrical/Mechanical/ Chemical /Industrial)

    • 5 years' experience in a Production or Process discipline in a continuous process manufacturing environment.

    • Ensure all blocked stock reports are send and followed up on. Ensure business targets are met to reduce blocked stock values
    • Ensure scrapping processes are followed as per Business procedures
    • Ensure minimisation of waste of dry waste occurs so as not to impact Plant Net Saleable Yield numbers
