    Master Rigger OC - Mining

    Job Description:
    As a Master Rigger you will be accountable for:

    • Rigging studies and risk assessments of all complicated lifts
    • Supervise rigging team
    • Manage all rigging and crane activities onsite
    • Clearly define scope of work
    • Following the planning and ensuring that equipment is in good working condition and ensuring correct equipment is used for the correct jobs
    • Ensuring personal and team workplace practices are safe, efficient and maintain a high safety standard throughout all work practices
    • Inspecting rigging equipment for any defects before use

    This role is in the Engineering department at a C3 level reporting to the Rigging Foreman.

    Qualifications:

    • N2 Certificate (N3 or N4 will be advantageous)

    Occupational Hygienist

    Job Description:

    • As the Occupational Hygienist, you will manage occupational hygiene programmes and systems that include hygiene, emergency preparedness, wellness, water quality on the operation and associate infrastructure to meet legal compliance and provide a safe and healthy working environment.
    • You will use recommended control measures to mitigate risk and adhere to audit compliance standards. Ensure ISO 45001 compliance
    • As part of this role, you will also promote education and awareness of employees on occupational health hazards including controls to mitigate risks.
    • You will also ensure trend analysis of occupational exposure data and connection of data to occupational groups while also reporting on occupational hygiene.
    • By monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of control measures put in place, you will ensure a safe and healthy working environment.

    This role is in the SHE Department and is at a Band 6 level reporting to the SHE Manager (Situated at Rustenburg Base Metals Refinery). 

    Qualifications:
    You will need:

    • Degree in Occupational Hygiene or related;
    • Registration with the South African Institute of Occupational Hygiene [SAIOH] on Occupational Hygienist level and Chamber of Mines [CoM] Intermediate Certificate in Mine Environmental Control [MEC];
    • CoM Advance Certificate in Mine Environmental Control - Advantageous
    • Occupational Hygiene Legal Knowledge Certificate - Advantageous

    Experience:

    • At least 5 years post qualification experience in the field of occupational hygiene
    • At least 2 years in a process environment

    Plant Production Manager

    Job Description:
    As our Plant Production Manager, your responsibilities will include:

    • Assist Manager Production to develop annual budget for plant sections
    • SHE systems Management
    • Ensure that plant section operates in a safe, predictable and sustainable manner
    • Develop and maintain site specific standards, codes of practices, systems and procedures in accordance with guidelines and the Act

    Section Manager: Iron Ore Characterisation

    Job Description:
    The purpose of the position is to plan and supervise the main work streams, as well as a team consisting of an analyst, technologist and laboratory technicians, supporting operational business units to ensure optimal work planning, consumables usage and the delivery of high quality data. Additionally, the position requires procurement of goods and services, management of supplier contracts and budgets.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Supports the Mineral Processing and Mineralogy Manager in maximising the value of metallurgy to Anglo American, at all times ensuring that health and safety are not compromised.
    • Plans, coordinates and leads all sub work streams based on work type and client needs, thereby managing the resource workloads.
    • Monitors and analyses sub work streams volume and turnaround times. This will include the QA/QC of the methods, results as well as a high-level interpretation of the data.
    • Provides visible felt leadership in safety, sustainable development and the Anglo American values.
    • Prepare annual cost budget for the section, monitor costs against budget. Draw up contracts with suppliers if necessary and monitor spend against contracts. 
    • Schedules the workload of the section such that operationally relevant data is provided to the client timeously
    • Review and optimise methodologies and procedures used by the section. Ensure that correct equipment is in place and that the equipment is well maintained. 
    • Oversees the training and development of the departmental staff.
    • Supports effectiveness and continuous improvement of the productivity and value contribution within the assigned tasks.
    • Communicates regularly with the clients as well as providing regular formal feedback on a monthly basis.
    • Ensures that SHEQ issues are considered in all activities.
    • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 as well as 17025 for specific units.

    Scheduler - SHEPS

    Job Description:
    The SHEPS execution schedule should constitute at least 80% routine tasks if not more. After the monthly planning and integration of all the legally required Safety, Hygiene and Environmental inspections for Mining, Plant, Engineering and other relevant sections the scheduling of 30-, 45- and 90 day inspections and audits, will be integrated with the Work Execution schedule approved at the Schedule review meetings (MR05)  for Mining, Plant and Engineering. Other Duties will be include the following:

    • Integrate and specify the required dates of work orders for Safety, Hygiene and Environment.
    • Specify the task duration of the respective individual work orders as well as the total duration needed for the integrated work order.
    • Allocate scheduled start dates for the respective work orders.
    • Identified critical issues to be discussed and agreed on during the specific schedule review Meetings
    • Confirm that all inputs received are accurate and to the right standard
    • Defining a task start time that fits the completion window (i.e. between the earliest time resources can be available and the latest date that the work can be started and meet the required completion date).
    • Confirm and allocate equipment/workplace access time, and labour and equipment availability, not only within the SHEPS department but also the area/workplace where task will be executed.

    • Computer literacy (MS Office, SAP- Prometheus, SORD) MS Excel 1 with look up functions level 2, MS Word 2 and MS Outlook
    • Relevant years’ experience in SHEPS & Production support capacity
    • Project Planning as an advantage

    Tribology Laboratory Assistant

    Job Description:
    As a Tribology Laboratory Assistant you will play a key part in conducting series of analytical tests on all oil and fuel samples from the operation using different analytical instruments and equipment according to the instrument procedure and standard.

    Your day to day duties will include:

    • Receive samples from the workshop, check job card, oil hours and machine hours
    • Prepare the samples according to procedure and standard including monthly bulk oil and diesel samples
    • Test daily control sample and record results for standardization
    • Observe sample performance during the analysis process and report deviations to the oil analyst
    • Dispose of the when the analysis process is completed
    • Provide assistance when the responsible person is absent

    This role is in the Asset Management and Reliability Department at a B5 level reporting to the Oil Analyst

    Work Management Planner - SHEPS

    Job Description:

    The work executed by the SHEPS department should constitute at least 80% routine tasks consisting mostly of legally required Safety, Hygiene and Environmental inspections/audits for Mining, Plant and Engineering. The execution of these 30-, 45- and 90-day inspections and audits need to be planned and integrated with the existing scheduled work of the relevant sections. Other duties for the role will include the following:

    • Development of tactics/plans in accordance with legislative requirements, policies, strategies, and operational requirements.
    • Perform maintenance and quality control on tactics/plans to ensure the correct BOM’s, resources, frequencies, and time durations to improve the quality of plans.
    • Review and update existing plans to align with strategic decisions or changes to policies/legislation.
    • Plan ad-hoc work.
    • Processing of data and reports (accurate, relevant, and up to date).
    • Continuous interaction with the planning offices of core areas to create a participative working environment where all relevant stakeholder contributions and inputs are considered.
    • Conduct work sessions with service providers to optimize relevant tactics/plans and strategies.
    • Adherence to all Health and Safety standards.
    • Decide on the detail level of Planning and plan accordingly.
    • Define the time required to complete the Work as well as the timeframe for completing the Planning.
    • Ensure that the Work on PM Orders for all Routine Tasks are completed in time and that the PM Orders are TECO-ed with the correct Execution Date and Measurement Readings.   
    • Tasks forming part of the WSS (short term strategy) to be discussed in the Monthly Pre-Planning Meetings.
    • Daily capture the ad-hoc work request within the SAP PM platform.
    • Daily run SAP Transaction IW28 to see if there are any Notifications with APD (Approved), OPN (Open) or NCD (Cancelled) Statuses.
    • Review the Task Status Report daily to assist in prioritizing the planned work and to track upcoming work
    • Plan approved work orders (Within area of responsibility) for resource provision and execution prior to required date as defined by business.
    • Compile Labour and materials requirements for the planned work.
    • Specify tools, services, equipment & contract resources.
    • Demonstrate behaviour in line with health, safety, and environmental standards and with company values.
    • Report any deficiencies, unsafe workplaces, unsafe acts observed

    Qualifications:

    You will need the following Qualification and Experience:
