    Packaging Co-ordinator

    Job Description

    • JackRabbit Chocolate Studio is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable packaging co-ordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for packaging chocolates with precision and care while ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are consistently upheld.
    • This role requires excellent time management, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced food production environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Accurately and attractively package chocolates and treats for delivery
    • Monitor and maintain proper chocolate storage procedures to prevent spoilage
    • Track and manage stock levels of all packaging materials
    • Prepare and organise a variety of packaging materials
    • Assist with couriering/distribution to ensure timely and correct delivery of products
    • Support chocolate production as needed
    • Deliver stock timeously to the retail outlet

    Minimum Requirements

    • Minimum Matric qualification (culinary qualification preferred)
    • Previous experience in a similar role in the food industry
    • Solid understanding and adherence to food handling and hygiene protocols
    • Strong time management and multitasking abilities
    • Fluency in English (spoken and written)
    • Knowledge of food safety standards
    • People-centric approach and ability to work as part of a team

    Operations And Administration Coordinator

    Job Description

    • JackRabbit Chocolate Studio is seeking a dynamic and highly organized Operations and administration coordinator to join our growing team. This role is essential in managing daily operations, coordinating projects, and providing key administrative support to ensure the smooth and efficient running of our chocolate studio. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
    • Previous experience in food production environments is highly desirable, as this role requires a strong understanding of production workflows, hygiene standards, and the ability to coordinate effectively with production teams.

    Key Responsibilities
    Day-to-Day Operations

    • Oversee the smooth functioning of daily operations
    • Manage team schedules and coordinate resources
    • Attend to the JackRabbit inbox and emails promptly
    • Order supplies from suppliers and manage stock levels
    • Coordinate courier bookings and oversee deliveries
    • Support production in collaboration with the Head Chocolatier

    Project Coordination

    • Assist with planning, execution, and tracking of production projects
    • Ensure raw materials and packaging are available as needed

    Administrative Support

    • Provide general administrative and clerical support
    • Manage correspondence and maintain supplies (office, cleaning, and studio ingredients)

    Communication and Collaboration

    • Facilitate effective communication across teams and with stakeholders
    • Promote a collaborative and supportive team environment

    Problem-Solving

    • Identify operational challenges and implement improvements

    Compliance & Quality

    • Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols and internal procedures
    • Oversee cleanliness and food safety standards in production areas

    Minimum Requirements

    • Own, reliable transport (non-negotiable)
    • Valid, unendorsed Code 8 driver’s license
    • Minimum Matric qualification (previous experience in food production environments preferred)
    • Culinary, confectionery, restaurant, or hospitality experience advantageous
    • Fluent in English (written and spoken) and at least one additional ethnic language
    • Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office (experience with Xero Accounting software is a plus)
    • Strong attention to detail and time management skills

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Prepare and present a variety of pastries and desserts using high-quality chocolate, following Jack Rabbit’s signature recipes and standards.
    • Explore new pastry and chocolate combinations, bringing creativity and innovation to the team.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen and pastry section.
    • Work closely with the production team to assist with large-scale chocolate-based recipes.
    • Help with the preparation, baking, and decoration of pastries for retail and wholesale orders.
    • Support the creation of seasonal and special product lines.
    • Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and quality control processes.
    • Stay up to date with the latest trends in pastry and chocolate, and share your new ideas with the team.
    • Use Culinary Equipment correctly and efficiently
    • Report production on a daily basis

    Required Skills & Experience:

    • A strong passion for pastry making and working with chocolate.
