    Officer: Community Business Advisory Officer

    Job Requirements

    • An Honours Degree in Business, Development Studies, Economics, or a related field.
    • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in enterprise development, business incubation, or stakeholder management.
    • Demonstrated ability to mobilise resources and manage projects effectively.
    • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills.

    Duties 

    • Provide strategic leadership, operational oversight, and stakeholder engagement for the University-Community Business Advisory Centre (U-CBAC).
    • Lead the expansion and management of UBAC operations, including oversight of multiple community advisory centres.
    • Drive resource mobilisation initiatives to support UBAC’s sustainability and growth.
    • Ensure UBAC’s alignment with the University of Venda’s Strategic Plan 2026–2030 and Vision 2040, positioning the institution as a leader in inclusive rural economic development.

    • An Honours degree (or equivalent NQF Level 8 qualification) in Business, Development Studies, Economics, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification is preferred.

    Senior Procurement Officer (P8) - (1534)

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor`s degree in Purchasing Management, Logistics Management or Supply Chain Management, or related filef coupled with a minimum of four years` experience in Supply Chain Management (SCM) or a related field, including at least three years in supervisory capacity. An Honours degree will serve as an advantage.
    •  In addition, candidates must possess knowledge of the NEC3/NEC4 family of contracts, Infrastructure Procurement and Delivery Management (IPDM) as prescribed in relevant regulatory frameworks, and strong competency in contract management.

    Duties

    • Responsible for planning, co-coordinating, and managing personnel to ensure the flow of product from the point of origin to the point of consumption. 
    • Coordinate all Procurement activities to ensure the core business is not disturbed. Assists in the development of policies, standards, and procedures for product movement, monitoring and ensuring compliance and the maintenance of the highest standards of safety and environmental behaviour and performance.
    • The incumbent is responsible for relationship management with all stakeholders and for ensuring subordinates' adherence to annual performance agreements in line with the overall university's yearly performance plans.

    Manager: Internalisation

    Job Requirements

    • A relevant Honours degree.
    • A minimum of seven (07) years’ work experience in an International Relations Office or similar environment.
    • A Master’s degree and/or PhD will be an added advantage.

    Duties

    • Managing international collaborations and projects to support the University’s global engagement strategy.
    • Providing strategic leadership to staff and stakeholders involved in international projects and partnerships.
    • Coordinating research activities and producing reports, including publications in peer‑reviewed journals.

    Head: Accreditation

    Job Requirements

    • A minimum of an Honours Degree in Education/Higher Education or an appropriate field as well as registration with a relevant professional body coupled with seven years relevant experience in an accreditation or quality assurance field. 
    • Candidate should further have management experience. 
    • Demonstrated experience working with CHE/HEQC, DHET, and SAQA processes, policies, and regulatory frameworks.
    •  Proven experience in programme accreditation, re-accreditation, curriculum development, and PQM management.
    • Experience in data management, reporting, and developing dashboards or management information systems is an advantage.
    • Prior experience providing capacity development or training to academic staff on accreditation and compliance processes.

    Duties:

    • Facilitate the application process for the accreditation and registration of University of Venda (Univen) programmes.
    • Manage the full accreditation and registration lifecycle for all programmes offered by Univen.
    • Contribute to the development and review of Univen policies related to Teaching and Learning, particularly those aligned to the Programme Qualification Mix (PQM).
    • Ensure assurance and compliance with national regulatory frameworks and institutional governance requirements for qualification standards, programme approval, and programme registration.
    • Develop and maintain management information systems and dashboards to monitor, report, and safeguard the integrity of Univen’s PQM and all accreditation activities.
    • Build capacity and support staff, Faculties, and academic departments on programme accreditation processes, statutory requirements, university regulations, and approval protocols.

    Manager: Academic Information

    Job Requirements

    • A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Sciences coupled with five years relevant experience. Candidate should preferably have higher education experience and have thorough knowledge of the Higher Education Qualification Framework. Candidate should have excellent stakeholders relation skills. 

    Duties

    Management of Academic Structure Data

    • Manage academic processes related to updating the academic structure for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including course/module information, prerequisites, co‑requisites, admission requirements, and all changes associated with new qualifications, programmes, specialisations, and amendments.

    Compilation of Annual Approved Academic Structure

    • Compile an annual approved academic structure outlining the status of all qualifications, programmes, modules, and PQM changes, based on Senate and Senate sub‑committee decisions, to ensure staff remain informed of key developments.

    System Monitoring and Data Integrity (ITS)

    • Monitor various restricted computer functions within the ITS system and, in consultation with ICT, develop and implement procedures that ensure ongoing data integrity and accuracy of academic information.

    Maintenance of Qualification and Module Data

    • Oversee the maintenance of all new qualification and module data by ensuring that updated curricula are obtained from faculties and academic departments, aligned with approval and accreditation requirements from DHET, CHE/HEQC, SAQA, and relevant Professional Bodies.

    Quality Assurance of Academic Structure

    • Promote and ensure quality assurance of the Academic Structure through thorough knowledge and application of the HEQSF, NQF, and applicable DHET policies, regulations, and guidelines.

    HEMIS Audit and Quality Control

    • Support HEMIS audit requirements by ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and quality control of academic information and the Academic Structure.

    Advanced Data and System Competence

    • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in database management, SQL, data analysis tools, and academic information systems to support effective decision‑making and data validation processes.

    Knowledge of Academic Governance and Curriculum Development

    • Apply strong knowledge of curriculum development principles, academic governance processes, and higher‑education quality assurance frameworks to support coherent academic administration.

    Job Requirements

    For Appointment at Senior Lecturer Level

    • A relevant Doctoral degree.
    • A minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience in the higher education sector (covering teaching, research, and innovation/engaged scholarship), or at least seven (7) years' of relevant professional experience.
    • A proven record of at least five (5) research publications in top-tier, peer‑reviewed academic journals in Rural Development or closely related fields.
    • Experience in facilitating innovation or entrepreneurship projects, participatory action research, and the ability to communicate in vernacular languages commonly spoken in Limpopo Province will serve as an added advantage.

    For Appointment at Lecturer Level

    • A relevant Masters Degree
    • A minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience in higher education (covering teaching, research, and innovation/engaged scholarship), or at least five (5) years of relevant professional experience.
    • Experience in facilitating innovation or entrepreneurship projects, participatory action research, and the ability to communicate in vernacular languages commonly spoken in Limpopo Province will serve as an added advantage.

    Duties:

    • Teach and conduct community‑based research, contributing to grassroots community engagement activities aligned with rural development.
    • Advance the development of rural communities through innovative teaching approaches, scholarly research, and community engagement programmes.
    • Mentor and coach junior academic staff, contributing to capacity building within the department.
    • Promote and market the programme, faculty, and department to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Support the development and enhancement of professional, cultural, sporting, and religious activities within and beyond the University community.
