Role Purpose/Business Unit:
The Executive Head of Department (“EHOD”) for Competition Law will serve as the competition law lead on projects and matters that require competition law assessment and guidance, managing and taking responsibility for and ownership of the following on an end to end basis:
- Providing expert strategic, operational, policy and other competition law support, advice/guidance and training.
- Updating the Competition Law Policy as required, and working with Compliance to ensure control frameworks are in place.
- Management of investigations against Vodacom
- Management of interventions in investigations against/ mergers of 3rd parties.
- Management of filings and providing expert advice in relation to mergers and acquisitions and other strategic projects.
- Providing support and guidance to Competition Law Champions.
- Other competition law related support or matters that arise.

Your responsibilities will include:
Being primarily responsible for:
- Liaising with business and other stakeholders.

Compliance Program

- Provide competition law support and advice in respect of mergers and acquisitions and other strategic transactions, managing merger filings and collating, vetting and finalising responses to requests for information.

- Build and maintain a network of competition law champions and provide them with support and guidance.

Defining Cyber Governance, Risk & Compliance in order to:
- Lead ongoing evaluation of security policies and relevant standards supporting the continuous improvement of the security governance program.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

- At least 3+ years of experience in cyber governance, risk, controls, and compliance management in a Cyber Security or technology environment.

Technical / professional qualifications and experience:

- Telecoms industry experience, ideally in Africa
- Investment banking and/or investing experience
