    Principal Specialist: Group Treasury

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Principal Specialist – Group Treasury to work on:

    • leading the treasury operations aspects relating to risk, compliance, reporting and monitoring processes within the Group Treasury department; and
    • the execution of proposed funding transactions that support the strategic and operational objectives of the Vodacom Group and its subsidiaries.
    • This high-impact role plays a critical part in optimising liquidity, shaping capital structure, and leading treasury transformation initiatives within a dynamic, multinational environment. 
    • This role also plays a pivotal part in safeguarding financial integrity by embedding risk management and compliance practices across all treasury activities and implementing and optimising Treasury Management System capabilities to support automation, accuracy, and control.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Funding and Strategy Execution:

    • Support the development of structures and processes for the seamless and automated implementation of funding transactions across Group companies, aligned to business needs and capital structure targets
    • Support refinancing initiatives, ensuring optimal implementation of proposed pricing, tenor, and covenants
    • Manage relationships with banks, financial institutions, and investors to on the processing and implementation of proposed funding instruments (e.g. term loans, syndicated facilities)
    • Support the execution of Group-wide debt programmes including documentation, drawdowns, and compliance with conditions precedent

    Cash & Liquidity Management:

    • Maintain and monitor the Group’s consolidated cash forecast, identifying risks and opportunities across markets
    • Support the execution of liquidity optimisation strategies, including intercompany lending, pooling arrangements, and local funding alternatives
    • Support the establishment and oversight of Group liquidity buffers and contingency funding plans

    Financial Risk Management:

    • Assist in the identification and mitigation of financial risks, including interest rate, currency, and counterparty risks
    • Monitor financial market trends and provide input into funding and risk strategy adjustments

    Risk and Compliance Management:

    • Oversee the implementation and ongoing compliance with the Group Treasury Policy, Delegation of Authority, and related governance frameworks across all markets.
    • Support the design, implementation, and monitoring of Treasury Risk Appetite Statements and financial risk limits (e.g., liquidity, FX, counterparty, and interest rate exposures).
    • Partner with Internal Audit, Risk, and Compliance teams to test and strengthen treasury controls, segregation of duties, and assurance frameworks.
    • Maintain an active compliance register for treasury-related processes and identify potential control gaps or emerging regulatory risks.
    • Prepare and present risk and compliance reports to the Group Treasurer for presentation to the Group CFO, Audit & Risk Committee, and other governance bodies.

    Treasury Operations & Controls:

    • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of treasury data inputs for management reporting, cash flow analysis, and board submissions
    • Partner with Finance, Legal, and Tax to review and negotiate treasury-related legal agreements (e.g. facility agreements, ISDAs)
    • Maintain compliance with internal treasury policies and external regulatory requirements

    Strategic Projects & Treasury Innovation:

    • Lead or support strategic treasury initiatives such as TMS enhancements, cash repatriation frameworks, or ESG financing structures
    • Conduct benchmarking and research to propose improvements in treasury operations and structure
    • Drive automation, digitisation, and process efficiencies across the treasury function

    Treasury Systems and Data Management:

    • Support the ongoing management, enhancement, and optimisation of the Treasury Management System (TMS), ensuring data accuracy, control integration, and alignment with Group reporting requirements.
    • Serve as the support to the business owner for TMS functionality, defining requirements, coordinating upgrades, testing new modules, and maintaining user access controls.
    • Collaborate with Group IT and system vendors to ensure system reliability, security, and compliance with Group data policies.
    • Drive automation and digital transformation initiatives to reduce manual interventions and enhance efficiency and transparency in cash, funding, and risk reporting.
    • Develop and maintain system documentation, SOPs, and training materials to strengthen user competency across OpCos.

    Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:

    • Collaborate cross-functionally with Group Finance, local market CFOs, Tax, Legal, and external advisors to deliver assigned funding and treasury outcomes
    • Prepare high-quality reports, board notes, and presentations for senior stakeholders and committees
    • Serve as a support partner on funding and liquidity matters, translating technical insights into strategic recommendations.

    Treasury Accounting:

    • Oversee payments processing for interest and treasury related expenses 
    • Review journals for the posting of treasury related transactions
    • Review loan schedules
    • Circulation of rates for month end reporting
    • Preparation of monthly/quarterly and annual reports for Group Finance
    • Preparation of cash visibility reporting

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • A completed university degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
    • Demonstrated continuous professional development in treasury, financial markets, or corporate finance

    Knowledge and Experience:

    • At least 5 years of progressive experience in corporate treasury, investment banking, finance or related within a large, multinational corporation or financial institution
    • Strong technical expertise in funding instruments, including term loans, revolving credit facilities, syndicated lending
    • Robust understanding of financial markets and instruments, including foreign exchange, interest rates, and liquidity management tools
    • Proven experience in cash flow forecasting, liquidity optimisation, and funding execution
    • Advanced proficiency in financial modelling, scenario analysis, and business case development using Excel
    • Skilled in preparing and delivering high-impact presentations and reports for senior stakeholders
    • Experience working with Treasury Management Systems (TMS); exposure to IT2 and CashAnalytics is advantageous

    Product Manager: Marketplace & SaaS

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • The Product Owner for Marketplace and SaaS is responsible for defining and driving the vision, strategy, and execution of Vodacom’s Business Marketplace platform and its SaaS offerings.
    • This role bridges business needs with technical execution, ensuring that products deliver value to enterprise customers across all segments — from SOHO and SMEs to large enterprises and public sector clients.
    • The role is also responsible for driving the delivery and execution of SaaS products identified through Vodafone Group and Vodacom Group partnerships.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Product Strategy & Vision

    • Define and maintain a clear vision aligned with Vodacom Group’s strategic goals and architecture guidance.
    • Develop and evolve the Marketplace platform to support all telco products and integrated SaaS solutions across OpCos.
    • Drive the long-term vision and strategy for the marketplace, positioning it as the “One Stop Shop” for digital solutions.
    • Drive the long-term strategic vision for SaaS solutions (Collaboration, Business Efficiency, Reporting, Financial Services, Cyber Security etc ) ensuring a comprehensive, high-quality mix that fulfils the top digital needs catering to Vodacom’s markets in Africa.

    Backlog & Roadmap Management

    Product & Platform Document

    • Outlines the long-term goals, target market, and value proposition as and when needed for the platform and the group SaaS products on boarded on the platform
    • Document competitive analysis as needed to support and drive the group VB strategy for SaaS Products on the marketplace platform
    • Create detailed specifications for features, functionality, and user requirements through PRD, BRS, User Story mapping etc

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • B Degree/Equivalent. Preferred with commercial and/or IT specialisation.

    Channel Management Analyst

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • To support Vodacom Direct’s channel operations by coordinating campaign performance, partner enablement, and project testing activities. This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth onboarding and management of trade partners, accurate reporting, and continuous improvement of customer experience, sales performance, and operational efficiency.

    Manager Unbranded Channel

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • The purpose of this role is to implement the CBU Sales and Distribution strategy in conjunction with all the unbranded channel partners and strategies while creating regional strategies aligned to business objectives.
    • The main KPI’s that need to be implemented and managed are channel economics linked to efficiencies. Net Sales Revenue being the overarching objective.
    • The role is to act as a conduit into the rest of the business but not limited to i.e. Segment Marketing, Product and Services, Digital and Content and Financial Services.  Deeper understanding of segmented marketing, strategy and business development as well as analytical and basic financial competence.

    M-Pesa Africa: Manager Platform Engineering

    Role Purpose:

    • The Platform Engineering Manager is responsible for the end-to-end health of the shared infrastructure and platform built to power M-Pesa products and services. Working collaboratively with technology teams, the Platform Engineering Manager will help to drive operations and automation to accelerate product delivery and ensure consistent and stable services. They will ensure that the technologies employed across environments including Security and DevOps are correctly operated through a mixture of in-house and third-party teams and services, to provide a resilient, secure, and highly available platform for our products and services to run on, and that the overall strategy for platform delivery is defined, approved, and implemented.
    • You will be required to establish, deliver, and refine a platform engineering roadmap to ensure that all platforms and products remain current, deliver value to product engineering teams, and supports the needs of internal stakeholders in terms of scalability, resilience, security, capacity, and operational maintenance.
    • You will be responsible to implement and maintain shared platform services in a fast, secure, and efficient way to build NextGEN Technology platforms. Drive the roadmap of the Platform Engineering and supports the delivery of key futures by other business ART’s.
    • Implementing cloud-native infrastructure, enabling microservices and extensive use of Open APIs, as well as achieving zero service outage, which requires enabling CI/CD tools and DevSecOps.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Help align Strategy with execution:

    • Provide input into the Platform strategy.
    • Delivery of the Strategic Platform Engineering RoadMap
    • Designing and implementing solutions which have high availability and are scalable.
    • Build business cases for different Platform Engineering propositions
    • Interface between Product squads and Cloud Infrastructure teams.

    Drive Platform engineering (DevOps) Maturity:

    • Creating and implement a DevOps SRE strategy, involving the creation of roadmap, introduction of processes, metrics, and systems to ensure success of the function.
    • Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART through ongoing evaluation of practices associated with DevSecOps and Release on Demand in the Continuous Delivery Pipeline
    • Drive an engineering culture of continuous improvement (CI) based on data, e.g. Platform Performance metrics.
    • Ensure technical debt and associated impacts are visible to stakeholders
    • Ensure RISKs are managed, to remove impediments and ensuring mitigations are implemented.
    • Build and maintain a core set of metrics that allow the business to understand the state of the infrastructure and platform performance.

    Platform Engineering business as usual:

    • Manage the delivery of features requested by the ARTS during PI planning.
    • Manage product backlog for Platform engineering team
    • Ensure that operational SLA and KPI’s  are met by DevOps team.
    • Help to transform the M-pesa HUB into a cloud native environment.
    • Migrate all cloud-based Dev, Test and UAT and OAT environments to the Private cloud on the HUB to implement cost savings.
    • Manage yearly capacity upgrades.
    • Manage capacity planning for all platforms and infrastructure.
    • Ensure SLA’s are met for vulnerability and patch management on Infrastructure across M-PESA
    • Drive automation of patch management across all platforms
    • Implement CI/Cd toolset and pipelines on the HUB and other platforms.
    • Implement Infrastructure and code to automate the spin up virtual environments.
    • Approve user access to the platforms and environment under Platform Engineering’s control.
    • Line manager to allocated people in Platform Engineering
    • Facilitate and guide platform engineering discussions in weekly architectural forum.
    • Manage infrastructure asset register for M-Pesa Platform Engineering
    • Responsible for Incident and Problem management for L2 support on the HUB.
    • Responsible for the delivery of network connectivity between the markets, HUB and AWS.
    • Perform monthly User and ARM group attestation for the M-Pesa HUB
    • Implement processes and controls within platform Engineering to improve and maintain the CSB Score to 4.0 or higher.
    • Maintain platform availability of 99.99% across all platforms.
    • Responsible for Infrastructure support and monitoring on AWS non-production systems
    • Delivery of AWS hosted systems for non-production and production environments through the development of Terraform code, based on requirements provided by the release trains.
    • Responsible for PAM (Privilege access management) on the M-Pesa HUB.

    Prepare and Facilitate PI Planning:

    • Facilitate PI Planning readiness by fostering the Continuous Exploration process
    • Assist with economic decision-making by facilitating feature and capability estimation by teams and the roll-up to Epics, where necessary 
    • Prepare for and facilitate PI Planning event
    • Summarize Team PI Objectives into Program PI Objectives 
    • Resource management and recruitment associated with ART including 3rd party resources

    Guide Program Execution: 

    • Track the delivery of features 
    • Help manage risks and dependencies
    • Escalate and track impediments
    • Facilitate periodic synchronization events, including the ART sync, Systems Demos and Inspect and Adapt workshops
    • Ensure effective vendor management
    • Provide regular reporting and analysis to drive effective decision making and continuous improvement

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • Bachelor’s Degree: A bachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is essential.
    • Master’s Degree: An MBA or a master’s degree in a related field is advantageous.
    • You must have experience with Infrastructure as Code, Scripting / Automation, Tooling pipelines: Terraform, GoCD, GitHub, Nexus, etc.
    • A strong understanding of AWS and Azure (and other cloud services) and its surrounding services.
    • Expertise in cloud technical architectures and deployment models (serverless vs server managed).
    • Experience of implementing and improving infrastructure monitoring and engineering metrics.
    • Management Experience in a FinTech environment, or at least infrastructure in a financial service environment – minimum 2 years
    • Technical experience working with infrastructure technologies – Min 5 years
    • Has background in IT Execution, with hands-on experience in Platform engineering and infrastructure, and with CI/CD, who understands modern architecture patterns, the digital technology space, and is capable of simplifying and decoupling legacy systems. Also familiar with information security vulnerabilities and risk management.
    • working with PaaS, API Microservices driven environments.
    • Strong experience managing complex build and run PaaS environments.
    • Good understanding of DevOps or DevSecOps.
    • Proven experience in the following technologies: server, network and firewall Hardware; Infrastructure Virtualization; Data Centers; VMware; Cloud infrastructure
