Role Purpose:
To administer the IELTS test in Algeria in accordance with the IELTS Administration and Professional Support Network (PSN) manuals, and to work with Exams Operations Manager in planning and implementing approaches for future growth of IELTS candidature in Algeria to meet or exceed planned targets.

Main Accountabilities:
• In line with overarching Corporate policy of the British Council (including EOD):
• The administration of the delivery of the IELTS test
• Conduct a self IELTS audit annually and ensure compliance with all standards and procedures.
• Responsible for ensuring the smooth implementation of IETLS sessions at all stages.
• Ensure having sufficient and trained examiners, markers and invigilators to run the IELTS exams.
• Conduct annual training and monitoring of invigilators and supervisors of examinations halls according to our evaluation system.
• Ensure having a valid Clerical Marker Trainer and working according to standards.
• To make sure that all IELTS on-line and off-line information materials are always UpToDate and according to the latest toolkit.
• All IELTS examination halls should be branded and clearly signed.
• To stay in continuous contact with the customer service office in terms of supporting and updating them with information and materials.
The responsibility of the security of the IELTS test materials.
• Ensure security of all IELTS related material at all times.
• Accurately monitoring the cycle of logging in and out of all IELTS materials.
• Destruction of secured materials according to board’s deadlines and guidelines.
• Maintaining the safe contents and materials stock up to date.
The responsibility of the IELTS test Software and electronic data
• IELTS software is always up to date and according to instructions received from the board.
• Ensure the appropriate allocation of passwords to staff and monitoring proper access.
• To adhere to the specified time limitation given for all tasks related to software i.e. backup and archiving.
• Responsible for assigning exams year calendar and entering it on the system.
• Responsible for entering and monitoring provisional entries.
Management of the IELTS PSN system
• Read and understand all regulations and update of the PSN system.
• Establish a system for flow of information between all the IELTS PSN team.
• Ensure that examiners are well aware of their responsibilities and to continuously update them.
• To ensure having a valid Examiner Trainer at all times.
• Follow up standards on recruitment of new and current examiners.
• Ensure having sufficient examiners with valid certifications.
• Develop a training annual plan with Examiner Trainer to ensure delivery of necessarily training on time.
• Work closely with Examiner Trainer to monitor examiners performance.
Event planning & management
• Negotiate & book venues for exams which meet agreed standards and demonstrate value for money. Follow BC procurement policies and guidelines
Candidate support
• All exams information sheets and publications are continuously monitored and updated in line with exams boards' calendars and instructions.
• To work with ESM on providing the customer services department with the various materials and resources needed by IELTS candidates.
• IELTS pages within BC website are always up to date, including timetables, forms, information sheets … etc.
• To use exams and score card questionnaires to measure candidates’ satisfaction, and actively responds to the customers’ needs and suggestions.
Financial Responsibilities:
• Daily reconciliation of income received is carried out and recorded in the specific monitoring sheets, and monthly statements to be ready after three working days of the month’s end.
• Provides support for the exams accountants team to produce reconciliation on time.
• Creates invoices to customers and follow them up until they are settled.
Client relationship management
• Effectively respond to enquiries from schools, universities, ministries and stakeholders that are received through different methods (F2F, telephone, e-mail, post, and fax) according to CS standards and enquiry handling policy.
• Proactively offer support and an integrated service in finding information and using resources.
• In liaison with ESM, to conducting visits to enhance the British Council relationship with clients and to continuously be aware of their concerns and

• To keep a record of all activities and transactions with clients, partners and stakeholders.
Provide support for all Examinations team
• Stay aware of all our examinations products and their features. Attend and attend Exam sessions when needed.
• Understanding and supporting in administrative arrangements when needed.
• Understand own role in supporting our activities to ensure a smooth process cycle.
• Participate in related exams and all office activity to ensure maximum integration.

About You (essential requirements for the role): we are looking for someone who has:
• First degree or equivalent
• English, spoken and written, to at least C1 on CEFR
• Arabic and French, spoken and written to at least C1 on CEFR
• Experience managing small teams or demonstrating team-leader abilities
• Experience working in international and politically challenging environment
• Experience of managing logistics
• Experience of working to deadlines in a pressured environment.

Role purpose:
To project a professional image of British Council and provide high quality and integrated enquiry and consultancy service for all British Council’s English and Exams activities, products, and services. To demonstrate the required attitudes, skills, behaviours and knowledge in accordance with British Council Customer Service Standards.
To promote and cross-sell British Council products and services meeting British Council sales targets (new and existing students/candidates), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and supporting Teaching Centre and Exams teams to achieve their annual business targets and objectives.
About British Council Algeria:
The British Council Algeria opened in April 2015 in a new eight classroom teaching centre in Algiers. The centre is in a renovated garden villa situated in Hydra, a suburb of Algiers. Since opening the teaching centre has grown from strength to strength with an average of 780 Adults and over 700 Young Learners registered each term. All teachers are expected to teach YLs as part of their teaching hours.
The Young Learner activity is a vital part of the Algiers centre’s business. We aspire to offer the highest quality learner experience and the academic programme reflects the British Council’s methodology, corporate standards and learning offer. We deliver British Council designed courses to Primary students and Secondary students. Adult learners’ study with us to improve their communicative skills and enhance their work and study prospects.
All our contracted teachers are supported and developed through a programme of continuous professional development. Teachers with the minimum post CELTA experience will be mentored by experienced teachers. There is a busy in-service teacher training programme for all the teaching staff, including Trinity Teaching Young Learners Certification (TYLEC), and for those teachers who are ready to develop further, support for the British Council/Cambridge Diploma in Teaching English to Adults (Distance DELTA) programme. We are also committed to developing our products, evaluation systems and student communication processes on a continuous basis.
