      Information Communication Technology (ICT) Interns X6

      R 78 000 per annum (stipend)

      QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

      • The candidates should hold Grade 12 Certificate and bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in Information and Communications  Technology. Applicants must be unemployed, recently qualified and be residing within Nkangala District Municipality. Certified copies of qualifications, ID copy and proof of residence is required with applications. Verification will be done to ensure that applicants are residing in Nkangala District Municipality.

      EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: NONE
      DUTIES

      • Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)
      • Check computer hardware (HDD, mice, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality
      • Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
      • Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimise performance
      • Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
      • Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment

      General Administration Interns X6

      QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

      • Switchboard operation and handling general enquiries.
      • Receiving visitors and providing administrative assistance.
      • Organising meetings, preparing agendas, and taking minutes.
      • Managing correspondence, registers, and administrative files.
      • Assisting with workshops, events, and office activities.
      • Providing relief administrative support in different units as required.

      Environmental Health Interns X36

      R 78 000 per annum (stipend)

      QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

      • The candidates should hold Grade 12 Certificate and Bachelor/B-Tech (NQF Level 7) in Environmental Health Applicants must be unemployed, recently qualified and be residing within Nkangala District Municipality.       DUTIES:

      • Performing inspection of specific premises, undertakes, offensive trades, hairdressers, places of entertainment, recreational facilities, resorts, child-care establishments, hostels
      • Preparing monthly MHS reports
      • Conducting general inspections of residential and business premises in response to EH related complaints received.
      • Perform routine monitoring and sampling of water sources
      • Enforcement of MHS by-laws and other relevant legislations.
      • Conduct environmental education and awareness campaigns within the local jurisdiction
      • Investigating complaints regarding noise disturbance and monitor levels thereof.
      • Preparing and serving notices, letters, report, etc according to environmental health legislations

      Internal Audit Interns X4

      R 78 000 per annum (stipend)

      QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

      • The candidates should hold Grade 12 Certificate, three-year bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) of Accounting Sciences in Internal Auditing. Applicants must be unemployed, recently qualified and be residing within Nkangala District Municipality. Certified copies of qualifications, ID copy and proof of residence is required with applications. Verification will be done to ensure that applicants are residing in Nkangala District Municipality.

      EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: NONE
      DUTIES:

      • Assist in execution of projects in line with the approved internal audit methodology
      • Assist with taking of minutes for the (IAF) team meetings
      • Assist in the entry meetings with the explanation of scope and objectives of the audit through the assistance of the senior internal audit
      • Assist with co-ordination and collaboration with other assurance providers.
      • Assist with the facilitation of risk assessment
      • Ensure that the allocated resources are utilised efficiently and effectively
      • Provide support to the locals regarding Audit and Performance committee meetings
      • Assist senior internal auditor on calculation of sitting allowance for members of the shared audit and performance.
      • Perform ad-hoc audits in terms of the approved internal audit methodology through the assistance of Senior internal auditors and other auditors within the function.
      • Provide support to local municipalities as they execute their plans
      • Assist with record keeping on behalf of the Internal audit function.
      • Report to the senior auditor of work executed in line with internal audit methodology
      • Provide support to the internal audit function (IAF) on administration duties which are not limited to minutes taking, and other administration duties as might be required from time to time
      • Assist with other duties as allocated by the senior internal auditor from time to time.

      Environmental Science in Disaster/ Risk Environmental Management Interns X4

      R 78 000 per annum (stipend)

      QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

      • The candidates should hold Grade 12 Certificate and bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in Environmental Management/ Sciences. Applicants must be unemployed, recently qualified and be residing within Nkangala District Municipality.       EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: NONE
      DUTIES:

      Undertake routine inspections and ensure compliance by industry with environmental management legislation and standards, through:

      • Entering premises to ascertain compliance
      • Seizing evidence of non-compliance
      • Issuing compliance and enforcement notices
      • Investigate environmental crimes and institute appropriate enforcement actions, namely:
      • Questioning witnesses
      • Copying documents
      • Inspecting and removing articles or substances
      • Taking photographs and audio-visual recordings
      • Exercise administrative powers, such as issuing of compliance notices;
      • Work closely with the SAPS in investigation of environmental crimes
      • Work closely with the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) to ensure successful  prosecution of offenders
      • Process and respond to environmental incidents reported to the municipality;
      • Review air quality compliance reports submitted by industries;
      • Liaison with other agencies in inspection and monitoring of the environment
      • Review Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environmental Audit reports to enhance compliance monitoring and enforcement
      • Conduct Environmental awareness campaigns within the District Municipality

      • Filing, scanning, archiving, and managing personnel and HR documents.
