KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Psychometric test scheduling

INTRODUCTION
We are seeking an Occupational Hygienist, based in Kathu, Northern Cape, working for a leading Mining Company. Reporting to the SHE Manager, the purpose of the job is to anticipate, recognise, evaluate, eliminate, contain and control risks in the working environment as provided for in the Mine Health and Safety Act
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Implement and maintain the Hygiene Management System and ensure compliance to legal and industry best practice
- Conduct the Hygiene Risk Assessments (Baseline, Issue Based Risk Assessments) and implement improve actions
- Conduct Personal, Equipment, Area, Water quality monitoring (Airborne Pollutants, Noise, Vibration, Illumination, Liaise, Air and water quality)
- Maintain standards to ensure compliance to good hygiene practices and Diseases management and prevention
- Monitor and control Occupational Hygiene Exposure Risks
- Facilitate the prevention of fatigue in the workplace
- Plan and implement the Sanitation strategy
- Ensure compliance to the relevant Hygiene Codes of Practices and ensure that it is integrated into other Codes of Practices
- Inspect firefighting and detecting and monitoring equipment
- Inspect and oversee maintenance of fire extinguishers
- Ensure operational readiness to deal with emergencies and injuries in the most appropriate and efficient manner
- Implement disaster management practices utilising information management and communication systems
- Advise employees, contractors and suppliers on Hygiene issues; including relevant legislation and Hygiene System requirements
- Monitor progress and Report on status of Hygiene improvement projects
- Initiate and support the development and implementation of corrective, preventative and improvement actions to reduce Hygiene risk exposure
- Coordinate response to Hygiene incidents
- Coordinate and conduct Hygiene Management System Audits

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Certificate in Environmental Management, or National Diploma Occupational Hygiene, or BSc in Occupational Hygiene as minimum qualification.
- Registration with SAIOH
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
- 3 - 5 years working experience within the mining environment.
- Good working knowledge of all the relevant Acts, regulations and standards.
- Computer Literacy.
- Code 08 driver’s license

JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an Economic Development Manager, based in Cape Town, working for a leading Renewable Energy Company
The Economic Development (ED) Manager identifies and design of community projects that make a real impact. He/she monitors and evaluates renewable energy power plants’ ED and SED projects in line with the plant strategic objectives. The ED Manager oversees project implementation and participates in Community Trust Boards. Together with the ED team, they are responsible for stakeholder management and reporting.
The ED Manager will supervise a Community Liaison Officer (CLO). The role is based in Cape Town, with frequent national travel.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and design Socio-Economic and Enterprise Development projects
- Identify project opportunities through consultation with relevant stakeholders
- Design and document proposed projects including budget estimations
- Present projects for approval by appropriate internal committee
Monitor and evaluate (M&E) SED and ED projects
- Ensure that each project is captured on the M&E tool with appropriate KPIs and monitoring and evaluation schedule
- Coordinate meetings with all relevant partners to monitor and evaluate project implementation
- Ensure proper exit and sustainability strategy is developed for each of the projects
Manage stakeholder engagement
- Review and update stakeholder maps annually
- Maintain stakeholder relationships
- Co-ordinate reputation management programme
Community Trusts
- Participate in Community Trust Boards
- Oversee project implementation
- Facilitate engagement between Community Trusts and project companies
ED Reporting
- Co-ordinate quarterly reporting to the Department of Energy for all plants
- Compile monitoring and evaluation reports bi-annually
- Co-ordinate Annexure A compilation and implementation
Supervise Community Liaison Officer
- Structure and implement CLO’s development plan
- Provide on and off-site support to CLO
- Manage CLO performance
Skills and Competencies
