    Research Assistant - Somkhele

    Overview of duties

    • Provider end user technology support to Sesikhona participants.
    • Monitor if study devices are uploading data continually.
    • Troubleshoot and problem solve study devices that are not uploading study data.
    • Call or visit participants whose devices are not reporting to troubleshoot and problem solve.
    • Carry out stress testing, performance and functional testing of the study app.
    • Provide feedback to software development project and Sesikhona project teams.

    Requirements

    1. Degree in Information Technology or related field

    2. Valid South African drivers's licence

    3. Experience in research environment

    Project Manager - Durban

    Overview of Duties

    • Develop a longitudinal plan for projects and key milestones to be achieved within the contract period of the grants.
    • Coordinate communication, including regular scientific meetings, with co-Investigators and stake holders.
    • Prepare scientific outputs including conference presentations and scientific papers for peer reviewed journals.
    • Prepare reports on the various projects for investigators and funders.
    • Responsible for monitoring and approving budgeted programme expenditures.
    • Engaging with key stakeholders and establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.

    Requirements

    Minimum Qualifications

    • PhD qualification in Biological Sciences or related field.
    • Evidence of high quality published or accepted scientific outputs as Lead or Senior author.

    Minimum Experience

    • 5 years’ experience in a research environment.
    • 3 years’ experience in a management or coordination role.
    • Experience and good understanding of quantitative, qualitative or mixed methods research.
    • Experience of preparing and managing budgets.
    • Evidence of being able to prepare scientific outputs including publications in peer reviewed journals.
