    Administrator: Accreditation

    Reporting to the Senior Manager: Accreditation, the successful candidate will be required to:

    • Review, analyse, and verify programme accreditation applications to ensure completeness, accuracy, compliance with CHE and SAQA requirements, and alignment with HEQSF.
    • Receive, collate, capture, and maintain accurate records of committee proceedings, including, minute-taking, and the recording of committee resolutions and decisions.
    • Quality assures outcome letters by verifying the alignment with committee minutes, and system data.
    • Capture and process programme backgrounds on the system, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of accreditation records.
    • Draft letters for the Senior Manager and Programme Accreditation Subprogramme as required.
    • Support capacity development initiatives and stakeholder engagement activities, including providing administrative support for workshops, training sessions, and engagements with new and prospective higher education institutions.
    • Provide administrative and operational support to the Programme Accreditation Subprogramme by contributing to subprogramme projects, quality enhancement initiatives, and other activities within the scope of the position as assigned by management.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • A relevant Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Information Management, Social Sciences or other relevant discipline.
    • Three years’ experience in the field of higher education or information management.
    • Excellent analytical and report writing skills.
    • Proficiency in basic computer programmes.
    • Sound organisational and administrative skills, including meticulous attention to detail.

    Administrator: Management of the Higher Education Qualifications Sub-Framework (M-HEQSF)

    Reporting to the Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

    • Identify data sources and collate information relevant to the work of the Subprogramme.
    • Conduct primary research as and when requested.
    • Keep track of publications and ensure they are available when needed.
    • Format documents, reports, information as and when requested.
    • Assist with information-related queries when required.
    • Capture information as requested.
    • Develop and maintain an electronic document filing system.
    • Develop and maintain relevant databases.
    • Disseminate relevant information.
    • File all documentation and correspondence received in the file plan.
    • Archive attendance lists, agendas, minutes and other documents from meetings and events.
    • Maintain updated lists of committees and working group members and their contact details.
    • Input and update data in the directorate database.
    • Timely provide documents upon request.
    • Maintain confidentiality of records and documents.
    • Coordinate meetings and workshops.
    • Draft and distribute meeting agendas and relevant documentation.
    • Book, collect and set up equipment needed for meetings.
    • Arrange venues, catering and other requirements for meetings.
    • Collaborate with the Executive Administrator to ensure that all logistical requirements, including Supply Chain Management (SCM) processes, are completed in accordance with applicable procedures and timelines.
    • Compile, copy, collate and distribute documents and stationery for meetings.
    • Reconcile general ledger statements.
    • Process invoices and travel claims.
    • Facilitate the contracting and payment of peer academics.
    • Maintain that all the equipment in the area of responsibility is in good working order.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact in the area of responsibility.
    • Respond to routine queries and provide information to stakeholders.
    • Arrange meetings between stakeholders and Team members.
    • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Interact with stakeholders about information required by them or from them.

    The successful candidate should have:

    • Diploma in Administration/Management or relevant equivalent qualification.
    • 2-3 years’ experience in an Office administration or similar role.
    • Strong Microsoft Office 365 proficiency, including expertise in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

    Senior Manager:Accreditation

    Reporting to the Director for Accreditation, the CHE seeks a person with appropriate experience, expertise and the ability to perform at the level of a Senior Manager in the following areas:

    • Management responsibility for all processes related to accreditation of new qualifications and programmes.
    • Analysis and validation of accreditation applications and evaluation reports with a view to producing quality recommendations for the Accreditation Committee.
    • Liaison with and providing advice to public and private higher education institutions on programme accreditation matters, as and when required.
    • Reporting to the Director on progress, trends, and developments in accreditation applications.
    • Contributing to the redesign, development, and implementation of accreditation processes as part of preparation for and implementation of the Quality Assurance Framework.
    • Identifying and coordinating research projects emerging from the activities of the Directorate, including matters relating to quality assurance and quality promotion.
    • Management and providing support to staff within the assigned portfolio.
    • Supporting the Director with compiling Agendas for meetings of the Accreditation Committee and the Higher Education Quality Committee, including by ensuring that the components of the agenda that relate to new programme and qualification accreditation applications are of high quality and are submitted timeously.
    • Supporting the work of the Directorate by undertaking or coordinating any other reasonable tasks assigned by the Director.
    • Working collaboratively as part of a cohesive team.

    The applicant must have:

    • A Master’s degree or equivalent preferably in Education, Humanities and /or Social Sciences (a PhD would be an added advantage).
    • A minimum of five (5) years’ relevant and demonstrable experience in Higher Education and/or Quality Assurance.
    • Three (3) years of Management experience, preferably in a university or quality council.
