    OFR Export & Gateway Supervisor

    Job Purpose:

    • Steer a team of Ocean Freight Exports, Gateway and Cross Trade Specialists to efficiently execute operational activities while ensuring adherence to service promises and regulatory standards. Focus on maximizing gross profit and productivity and fostering a customer-centric culture while acting as the primary escalation point for any exceptions. Regular performance evaluations and proactive monitoring are essential to identify and implement improvements

    In this OFR Export & Gateway Supervisor position

    • Steer a team of Freight Exports, Gateway and Cross Trade Specialists to complete operational activities in line with GTOM, 1F1O, our service promise and regulatory compliance procedures and lead by example
    • Drive GP maximization on team level while supporting the team to deliver quality and improve productivity
    • Build close business relationship with existing clients, seek potential upsell opportunities, conduct regular customer visits and achieve a desired level of customer retention
    • Ensure teams implement the necessary regulatory compliance procedures relating to commodity and locations for shipments
    • Proactively monitor and improve operational performance and customer feedback and identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency by using the standardize performance tools of DGF.
    • Listen to customers, regularly review customer feedback and drive customer-centric culture in the team
    • First point of contact point for customers, suppliers or network related irregularities and responsible for escalation of issues that cannot be resolved at own level
    • Conduct regular performance dialogs and Gemba walks to identify issues and drive performance improvement and create a safe and motivating atmosphere to openly discuss issues
    • Participate to develop, maintain and achieve ocean freight productivity targets
    • Ensure that teams adhere to the Global standard processes when executing shipments.

    In area of OFR product:

    • Confirm and/or create transport orders, perform and optimize bookings
    • Control, Prepare and distribute all required Export documents
    • Identify performance issues of suppliers, and propose solutions to improve performance
    • Update Customs shipment information and physical status, resolve customer issues and incidents
    • Manage and support Cross trade business in line with GP Management and Job profitability
    • Manage and support GTW team
    • GTW file monitoring, job profitability and business growth

    Logistics Coordinator

    Job Purpose:

    • Administer import/ export plans and processes to provide preparation and clearance of documentation through the relevant authorities and guide and advise customers on import/ export operations and regulations in line with business strategy and objectives, corporate guidelines and policies.

    Key Tasks:

    • Administer import/ export plans and processes to optimize service and performance
    • Perform transactional operational tasks related to import/ export in adherence to regulations and internal procedures
    • Undertake import/ export entries and support operational activities as per internal procedures and latest local customs regulations
    • Prepare calculations for duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight and volume of merchandise imported/ exported from/ to foreign destinations
    • Draft, distribute and archive all required import/ export documents
    • Check invoices and shipping documents to enhance accordance with federal regulations
    • Verify entries to ensure customer requirements are met and suggest routine corrective actions in case of deviations
    • Ensure export, import and gateway operations are as per business guidelines and compliant with set expectations
    • Administer IT systems related tasks to provide updated information on shipment
    • Cooperate with internal functions such as customer service, product, sales, etc.
    • Connect with overseas office to check and verify shipment information
    • Resolve recurring issues, and suggest enhancements for import/ export work methods focusing on increasing effectiveness and efficiency
    • Explain facts, policies and practices related to job area
    • Support and interact primarily with colleagues of own sub-function
    • Develop a network of contacts to build up relationships and strengthen the organizational, product and market knowledge
    • Individual contributor without direct responsibility for leading others

    Risk, BCM & Security Controller

    Job Purpose:

    • To identify current and potential risks affecting the business and to manage such risks. To provide timeous and accurate reporting on all risk-related issues., to ensure compliance with all legal requirements.                            

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist with implementation of risk management plans                                                     
    • Implement/monitor location security standards and policies in line with region/country standards and the DHL and Global Security framework.                 
    • Collect details of location/country security incidents and report them using the approved platform (LOGICS) or via the local LOGICS user within 24hrs.                    
    • Assist country/regional security function in preparation and completion of security assessments and audits (internal/external).                                                                    
    • Ensure all 6 STEPS Tasks & Responsibilities are performed as required, actions logged and tracked to full resolution                         
    • Provide general security information and security awareness & training to location workforce.                            
    • Achieving security standards and co-operation of DSC location management on implementation of security policies and standards.       
    • Correct security risk classification/assessment and compliance to security standards through DSC security Self-Assessments & cooperation with site Mgmt                  
    • Promoting security awareness through understanding of local security situation and threats posed to the location / country.                                                        
    • Compliance on any external customer or regulatory body security requirements.             
    • Assist with / implement security documented processes and procedures at location / country.                       
    • Assist with / complete risk classification, assessment and audit active for the location / country.                        
    • Complete / assist with security awareness and security training at location / country.
    • Security incident reporting in place.                                                                                        
    • Complete / assist with implantation of security standards with sub-contractors and any new projects.

    • Ensure BCM compliance with DPDHL and DSC operational standards.                     
    • Manage the Site Plan and ensure that it is amended and updated as required to maintain its accuracy.              
    • Manage a suitable and sufficient review procedure for the plan at intervals not exceeding 6 months. 
    • Prepare the plan for periodic audit when needed and assist in its conduct.                   
    • Assist in investigations into Business Continuity Incidents where appropriate.     
    • Ensure that all BCM events are input into the Logics database within 48 hours of the incident occurring.       
    • Manage a suitable and sufficient test procedure for the higher risk plans at intervals not exceeding 6 months. 
    • Provide advice to Site Management with reference to BCM issues.                            
    • Assist with implementation of risk management plans                                                     
    • Day-to-day inspection of onsite guards                                                                                  
    • Day to day inspection of CCTV and access control system                                                
    • Weekly inspection and testing of generator, fire detection system, sprinkler system, alarm and any other security/OHS equipment and systems                                        
    • Weekly beetle trap inspections                                                                                   
    • Daily inspection of checkers and checking process                                                              
    • Daily CCTV camera system tests with ZA Ops                                                                       
    • Report on risk issues                                                                                                     
    • Monthly after-hours inspection of depot and guarding service provider/s                      
    • Re active and proactive initiatives                                                                                            
    • Incident reporting for Risk related incidents                                                                        
    • Investigation of risk / security incidents                                                                                
    • Compliance with legal prerequisites                                                                                       
    • Assist with completion of audits and self-assessments

    • Any other reasonable instructions from Risk /DC Manager
