The Head of Programme Management is a highly experienced technology delivery expert and a key member of the Dyson Group IT Delivery Management team. They lead a highly professional team of project and programme managers who aspire to world class execution and have a keen focus on realising business outcomes. Reporting to the Group IT Delivery Director and supporting all Dyson markets globally, they direct programme management operations to lead default agile delivery with lean teams working in Group and Market at pace.

Function Overview
Spanning across Dyson’s presence online, transactional capabilities, customer care, marketing support and the front and back office technology that makes Dyson work, it is the nerve centre of Dyson. The team spans many specialities from Technical to Business Analysis and Testing. Crucially, as we look to drive future growth by increasing direct sales, dyson.com becomes our most vital global sales channel. Accountabilities
As the Head of Programme Management you will be responsible for leading a highly professional team of project and programme managers who aspire to world class execution and have a keen focus on realising business outcomes that are business critical and direct programme management operations to lead default agile delivery with lean teams at pace.
You will Build and maintain a detailed programme plan to deliver all Group IT projects with up to a 3 year horizon, setup and maintenance of a standard programme and project management methodology. Oversee Programme Managers to ensure larger programmes are under control and have the appropriate level of Stakeholder sponsorship and engagement and Provide direction for all programmes and large projects including escalation path for all risks and issues.
Line management of a team of Programme and Project Managers practicing DSDM / Agile PM and PRINCE2 waterfall delivery and take personal accountability for quality and accuracy of programme management performance and deliverables. Do not accept ‘average’ or ‘Ok’, only excellence is acceptable
Skills
We are looking for someone with significant and demonstrable experience of IT project and programme management, ideally gained in strategic complex projects for large organisations and a proven track record in delivery. Proven In depth knowledge and experience of all stages of the project and programme lifecycle, including development of business cases, mobilisation of programmes.
You be a proven leader with the ability to develop a strong programme team, potentially across multiple organisations and locations. An ambassador for communication and comfortable will all levels of stakeholder relationship building and maintaining on a global scale.

We’re implementing a completely new commerce and content platform to transform the way we explain our technology, with completely new engaging, interactive visual assets and build a purchase journey that outperforms global leaders like Apple and B&O. It’s a cornerstone of our global drive to more direct sales and a closer relationship with our customers. At the same time, our existing platform continues to serve our global customer base with commerce functionality, rich support content and customer engagement tools, and forms a core part of our IoT platform, powering our latest generation of connected products. A selection of smaller sites supporting the James Dyson Foundation, our Careers Portal and the upcoming Dyson Institute complete the set of platforms that the growing Digital IT team support.
Accountabilities
You’ll be working within the Digital IT team, alongside our developers, testers and UX analysts, as well as amongst the wider business. As the first port of call for many incoming requests, you’ll need to develop strong relationships across our Group commercial functions, in-market commercial and content teams and within the RDD function. You’ll be responsible for the initial triage and allocation of issues within the digital platform, working closely with the Group IT function where issues span multiple systems. The ability to quickly, efficiently and accurately move issues through the process is a must, as is the ability to work with other areas of IT as the web platform interfaces with our front and back office platforms and beyond.
Skills
We’re looking for a smart, quick-thinking, digital enthusiast; accustomed to working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment with a get the job done mentality. You might have some formal IT Service background, but it’s not essential. As well as triaging and allocating issues, we’ll also need you to get your hands dirty, providing fixes, managing external comms and working closely with the global content teams to help them work efficiently. If you have some development or database skills then so much the better.

Reporting to the Head of Programme Management the role will require broad knowledge and ownership of the connectivity development plan along with facilities, cost/budget and resource responsibilities. As the role is in a new area of business for Dyson, the successful candidate will also be responsible for developing the programme methodologies and infrastructure, working closely with the PMO organisation and the project team to achieve this. They will ensure the project delivers across the full spectrum of delivery streams and manage and mitigate risks accordingly. As a senior role the individual will be expected to take ownership of programme delivery with minimal guidance and ensure appropriate project process are developed to enable the project to be managed effectively.
