During your time in the Academy, you will receive ongoing technical and soft skills training in a professional environment. You will also receive guidance through peer coaching and mentorship from subject matter experts in the Sanlam IT & Business Intelligence (BI) teams to ensure that you are well-equipped to become successful and grow in your chosen career.
The Academy will allow you to work cross-functionally, providing you with the opportunity to learn and acquire knowledge across various disciplines and be equipped with a diverse skillset. Through the functional training and hands-on experience with the leading IT & BI tools and technology, you will play a key role in Sanlam’s strategy to modernise the IT agenda.
What will make you successful in this role?
We are looking for independent and self-motivated individuals with strong analytical skills to join our 24-month graduate programme. You must have the ability to present yourself competently and professionally, work efficiently, meet deadlines, and prioritise competing responsibilities.
A basic understanding in some of the following will be beneficial:
Programming languages and frameworks such as Python, Java, .Net and SQL
Data analysis, modelling and visualisation
Business and process analysis
Qualification
Undergraduate or postgraduate students in their final year in the following disciplines will be considered:
Degrees in Technology such as BCom, BSc, BTech (i.e. Information Technology / Information Systems / Computer Science)
Degrees in BCom, BSc, BEng (i.e. Data Science or Analytics / Finance/ Actuarial Science / Engineering)
Experience
Final year students or recent graduates with no professional working experience
Graduates with not more than 12 months of post-university professional working experience

Who are we?

What will you do?
Lead and contribute towards the Data Governance implementation process, aligned to the Data & Integrity strategic priorities for development of information-based capabilities.
Implement policies and guidelines for data management.
Provide technical oversight for integration new technology or new initiative into data standards and structure.
Maintain internal data asset library i.e. using technologies such as AXON.
Provide an organization wide data governance framework, focusing primarily on the improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data.
Provide thought leadership and participate with projects that involve any of the upstream or downstream data flows and processes.
Manage SLAs for policy fixes.
Work with business partners to manage data quality and provide scorecards/reports.
Ensure controls are in place over applications to ensure the data integrity by performing data integrity gap analysis
Define indicators of performance and quality metrics and ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements.
Contribute actively to the management and compliance of core data assets with the applicable policies, legislation and regulations e.g. POPI, GPPR etc.

Qualification & experience
Degree or Diploma with 8 to 10 years related experience.
Planning, Reporting and Performance Management experience.
Experience in stakeholder management, internally and externally.
CDMP and/or CIMP Certified (desirable).

Understanding of Data & Information Privacy Laws and Regulations.
Self-motivated, able to handle tasks with minimal supervision or questions & ability to deliver acceptable customer service.

What will you do?
Responsible for all administrative functions of the Group Information Security Programme in support of the Programme Manager and Information Security Team. Conducts necessary maintenance and administration as required.

What will you do?
To provide financial advice along with a financial plan in line with the customer value proposition and treating customers fairly framework.

Class of Business (COB):

Assist to establish and maintain a robust compliance function within the risk management framework of the business according to key regulations
Formulate, adapt, initiate, maintain and implement policies and procedures on various key regulations as required
Draft, maintain and enhance Compliance Risk Monitoring Plans (“CRMPs”).
Incorporate new legislation into existing structure
Monitor compliance and adherence with rules, regulation, policies, procedures and limits and recommend enhancements

3 – 5 years compliance related experience in the financial services industry
Exposure to CAT I (direct and via intermediary services) and CAT II FSP businesses advantageous
Member of the Compliance Institute of Southern Africa would be advantageous
Knowledge and skills
Working knowledge and application experience of Financial Markets Legislation is key
Key Acts: FAIS (essential), JSE Rules and Directives (essential), Advantageous supplementary experience: FICA/AML, FATCA, POPIA, Regulation 28 etc.
