    Insurance Consultant - JG 10

    What will you do?

    • Santam Operations, Commercial Contact Centre have career opportunities available for Insurance Consultants JG10 base in Cape Town, Bellville. The insurance consultant role is focused on providing an end-to-end service and support to intermediaries.

    What will make you successful in this role?

    This role is focused on, but not limited to.

    • Contribution to the net profit and growth targets for business.
    • Delivering exceptional service that exceeds customers’ expectations through proactive, innovative, and appropriate solutions.
    • Providing telephonic / email support to the intermediary on record, authorised representatives from the brokerage, and broker services.
    • Dealing with general insurance and policy specific enquiries.
    • Analysing the request from the intermediary and providing a quotation to secure the business (conversion).
    • Initiating out dials to intermediaries to discuss quotations and / or convert policies.
    • Undertaking client follow-ups when policies are cancelled to ascertain the reasons and attempt to retain the policy onto books. 
    • New business issuance / policy maintenance/ renewal / agri aspects of policies.
    • Assisting to resolve all insurance queries within required timeframe and compliance requirements.
    • Managing client expectation on expected turnaround times for submitted requests.
    • Adhering to underwriting criteria and regional requirements.
    • Assist with profiling the client with the best suitable product and underwriting criteria.
    • Assisting in implementing solutions for improvement.
    • Adhering to workforce management principles to ensure that we optimize productivity.
    • Prioritise own workflow and ensure work is completed to the required standards of productivity, quality, and timelines; use performance manage systems to improve personal performance.
    • Ensuring that business targets are met.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Matric / Grade 12
    • 60 FAIS credits - Commercial lines
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Financial Services experience - Short Term Insurance - would be advantageous
    • A relevant insurance related qualification (e.g. NQF level 5) would be advantageous.
    • Tertiary qualification would be advantageous

    Digital Enablement Manager

    What will you do?

    • We have an exciting opportunity for an Digital Enablement Manager within Santam Specialist Solutions.

    What will make you successful in this role?

    Strategy & Growth Enablement:

    • Assist in the formulation, execution, and ongoing optimisation of the Direct SME digital strategy, aligned to growth, profitability, and client experience objectives. 
    • Drive usage and adoption of the Direct SME platform by end clients, ensuring a seamless digital journey from quote to bind to renewal. 
    • Implement initiatives that reduce manual underwriting intervention and off-platform processing, while maintaining underwriting integrity. 
    • Improve turnaround times for new business and renewals through automation, journey optimisation, and workflow design. 
    • Accountable for top-line growth, retention, and Net Underwriting Result within the Direct SME portfolio. 
    • Identify and lead strategic initiatives to scale the Direct SME offering across products, industries, and segments.
    • Provide regular analysis and reporting on underwriting performance, conversion rates, drop-offs, and digital funnel effectiveness.
    • Monitor competitive activity, digital market trends, and emerging SME needs to maintain a competitive digital advantage.
    • Provide structured feedback on market intelligence, client behaviour, and platform performance to inform product and system enhancements.

    Budget & Commercial Management:

    • Support the Executive Head in preparing and managing the Direct SME budget, aligned to growth and sustainability targets.
    • Monitor and control expenses related to digital acquisition, underwriting operations, and platform enablement.
    • Ensure income generation aligns with approved budgets while maintaining underwriting discipline and loss ratio targets. People Leadership & Capability Building
    • Day-to-day management of underwriting, digital operations, and support staff within the Direct SME team.
    • Set, monitor, and manage performance objectives, KPIs, and sales targets aligned to digital growth outcomes.
    • Drive a high-performance culture through coaching, feedback, and structured performance management.
    • Identify training and development needs to build digital, underwriting, and client-centric capability.
    • Foster collaboration and engagement to support an innovative, agile, and accountable team environment.

    Marketing, Digital Adoption & Client Engagement

    • Partner with Marketing and Digital teams to support direct client acquisition strategies, campaigns, and funnel optimisation.
    • Support client education and adoption of the Direct SME platform through digital content, onboarding journeys, and targeted engagements. Contribute thought leadership, articles, and insights on SME risk and digital insurance trends.
    • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of digital marketing channels, conversion rates, and client engagement metrics.
    • Act as a visible ambassador for the Direct SME proposition internally and externally. 

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Appropriate tertiary qualification a preference or an insurance related qualfication

    • 5-8 years experience within specialist insurance

    Human Capital Business Partner

    Role Purpose

    • The Human Capital Business Partner provides strategic and operational HC support to designated business units within Santam. The role partners with leaders to enhance organisational effectiveness, build leadership capability, drive people-related initiatives, and ensure alignment to Santam’s culture, values, and strategic objectives.
    • The HCBP acts as a trusted advisor, enabling a high performance, inclusive, and future-fit workforce.

    Key Responsibilities

    Qualifications & Experience

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in HR Management / Industrial Psychology / Organisational Development or related field.
    • 5–8 years HC generalist or HC business partnering experience, preferably in the financial services or insurance sector.
    • Strong understanding of South African labour legislation (LRA, BCEA, EE Act, Skills Development Act).
    • Experience in organisational change, talent management, and performance management processes.
    • Ability to travel as required

    Preferred

    • Honours degree or Postgraduate qualification in Industrial Psychology or HR.
    • Experience supporting complex, large-scale business units.
    • Coaching certification or exposure to leadership facilitation.
