    Senior Management Accountant Syferfontein

    Purpose of Job

    • Ensure that sound financial management and reporting practices are implemented and applied in the Business Unit. Ensures effective, accurate and timely reporting to internal stakeholders. Participates and provides input in business decision making, financial management of the business unit and also ensure the effective management of the financial people. Support the cost and profit centre managers with financial analysis and intelligence in a proactive and positive/ critical attitude to facilitate decision making as well as to evaluate the effect of decisions made.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Analyse pricing & volume variances compared to budget or forecast. Processes sales documentation and issues invoices. Variances on pricing and volumes reconciled and explained. Accurate cash flow forecasts presented within agreed deadlines. All supporting documentation on hand. Sales recorded and updated on system. Prepare mass balancing and reconciles gains/losses.     Master Artisan Electro Mechanic

    Purpose of Job

    • To support production by leading the provision of effective electro-mechanical equipment maintenance and reliability while overseeing and ensuring the adherence to procedures/codes, and utilising all available support resources to increase stability and maintain sustainability of the plant, mine and/or equipment.

    Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities

    Dangerous Goods Advisor and Transport Sustainability

    Purpose of Job

    • To ensuring compliance with national and international regulations related to the transport of dangerous goods by road, rail, air, or sea. 
    • To provides expert guidance on classification, packaging, labelling, documentation, and emergency response procedures.
    • To provide expert guidance on Dangerous Goods Transport Risk management processes.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Monitor, interpret, and ensure compliance with ADR, IATA, IMDG and the NRTA.
    • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliant and safe transport of product throughout the life cycle.
    • Ensure correct classifications of all Dangerous Goods (DG) on site (ADR).  Support Safety Data Sheet authors with section 14 classifications and reviews.
    • Take the lead to conduct route risk assessments on site for dangerous goods together with road traffic and Emergency Response Management.
    • Advise operations on safer handling procedures for dangerous goods.
    • Create and maintain transport emergency cards (Trecards) for all DG products on site.
    • Maintain accurate records of DG incidents.
    • Provide expert advice during transport incident investigations on site.
    • Participate in on site transport risk assessments providing expert support (preventive and corrective controls advise).
    • Monthly DG reporting and trend reporting.
    • Provide DG requirements during transporter contracting process.
    • Conduct monthly second level assurance assessments.
    • Recommend improvements to site procedures to ensure continues transporter and safe handling of DG on site.

    Stakeholder Management:

    • Represent the company in external forums, working groups, and regulatory consultations.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    Specialist Artisan Diesel Mechanic

    Purpose of Job

    • This position is for a Artisan Gr 2 Diesel Mechanic up to Specialist level. Appointment of successful candidates will be done in line with the relevant MSP career path.
    • Support electricity generation through maintenance on 18 stationary marine type internal combustion engines, utilizing natural gas as fuel and generating electricity by means of a directly coupled generator. 
    • Maintenance is conducted as per an outage plan and breakdowns, whilst adhering to Sasol codes and procedures.  Maintenance activities can include, but is not limited to maintenance on piston and connecting rod assemblies, lube oil pumps, cylinder heads, turbos, etc, as per an agreed upon schedule.
    • The successful candidate will directly report to the mechanical maintenance foreman, working together with other mechanical artisans.  The position is permanent at the SGEPP site, with no traveling or shift work required.  Standby duties will be required as per set schedule.  Position may require overtime in incidents of plant upsets, or major engine overhauls.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Overhaul of Wärtsilä 20V34SG gas engines as per Quality control plan, together with an execution team. Overhaul of Napier 347 marine turbos, together with an execution team. Service and repair of individual engine components, as per agreed quality control plan and schedule. Faultfinding on engine components and related repairs. Replacement of damaged parts that are beyond repair. Fault finding and related repairs on gas systems and components. Faultfinding and related repairs on compressed air systems and components Maintenance on engine flexible couplings. Lifting of heavy equipment via overhead crane.

    Job Requirements

    • Physically fit, must be able to lift equipment weighing 20 kg
    • Valid code B license
    • Standby and occasional overtime
    • Knowledge of emergency procedures

    Formal Education

    • To coordinate health and safety activities to facilitate inspections, data gathering, and data maintenance and integrate health and safety initiatives into SASOL operations to maintain a safe and healthy environment.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Ensure effective delivery of targets through monitoring and responding proactively to hazards in the workplace. Conduct hazard identification in the workplace, facilitate safety related risk assessments, lead incident investigations and facilitate RCAs.
    • Participate in the development of shutdown planning and campaigns and ad hoc Service Provider audits on site to check compliance to SHE file requirements.
    • Participate in safety system audits, e.g. Logbook audits, lock-out audits, legal appointment audits, insurance engineers audits etc.
    • Provide input during risk assessments to ensure safety issues are identified.
    • Provide advice on the selection and use of specific PPE and participate in the respective forums.
    • Participate in the roll out of the Safety Improvement Plan and report updates as required.
    • Ensure personal and team development while coaching the team and others with regards to Safety.
    • Ensure results through the management of personal and team meet targets (e.g. due dates and quality standards) in alignment to performance contracts.
    • Manage ad-hoc requests and tasks in relation to Safety.
    • Review and contribute to policies, standards and procedures.
    • Identify, evaluate and recommend improvement opportunities.
    • Input into the compilation of new and the revision of existing safety procedures and instructions.

    Formal Education

    • Grade 12 with Maths and Physical with trade qualification or blasting certificate, SAMTRAC 
    •  7 years total work experience (Mining or Engineering Related)

    • National Diploma/ B-Tech in Engineering or Safety Management 
    • 3 years total work experience (Mining related, Engineering/ Mining Practices

    • To coordinate and direct maintenance and repair services for a specific process within a production line, through control panel management and more complex troubleshooting.

    Purpose of Job

    • To support with the maintenance of mechanical / electro-mechanical / electro-mechanical systems and equipment.
