    Analyst Programmer

    What You Will Do

    • You will be joining the RPP - Technical Stream reporting into the Development Lead Modernization. Your primary focus as an Analyst Programmer in the RPP - Technical Stream is being responsible for developing, enhancing, and supporting BankservAfrica applications using automated continuous deployment methodologies. You will be engaged in designing, implementing, testing, and deploying applications through change management processes and post-monitoring of application deployments. This role further requires you to understand cloud platforms as well as to maintain and deploy new existing services to the cloud. Good communication skills, being a team player, a background in using a variety of programming languages and protocols, being self-motivated and being able to be on call 24/7 in the event of emergencies are key attributes for this role.

    • Financial institutions
    • Payment processors

    Your key responsibilities include:

    • Analyse and solve problems and incidents on production, UAT and development environments
    • Develops, modifies, maintains, and deploys assigned microservices. Test existing and new code. (TDD) Write Unit Test and Integration Test for microservices. Source code must adhere to Standard coding principles and design patterns (GOF).
    • Maintain monitoring and alerting application.
    • Firm understanding of CICD pipelines, Containerization, and automation.
    • Effectively manage the delivery of short to medium term goals
    • Analyse and solve problems and incidents on production, UAT and development environments
    • Monitor the operation of assigned programs and respond to problems by diagnosing and correcting errors in logic and coding.
    • Provide 24/7 support of applicable systems
    • Plan and organise work activities according to timelines and targets
    • Demonstrate innovative thinking in area of expertise and translate this into business process / solutions / working practice improvements
    • Provide feedback on work within own area of expertise and proactively seek out feedback
    • Display professional discipline (punctuality, etc.)

    Qualifications / Knowledge

    • BSc Computer science or relevant experience
    • Knowledge of development and analysis SQL knowledge, C-based (OO language) i.e., JAVA, etc. Preferred Language Golang

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience working as a Programmer
    • Experience in financial services preferable
    • 1 year experience – Cloud Platform

    Risk Specialist

    PURPOSE

    • Drive sustainable business value for an organisation.  Managed both ERM and BCM practices (Operationally and Strategically).

    You will engage with the following stakeholders:

    Your key responsibilities include

    • Contribute to and deliver on BU goals and activities aligned to strategy
    • Demonstrate innovative thinking in area of expertise and translate this into business process/ solutions/ working practice improvements
    • Deliver client or company specific projects in line with company standards and in agreement with line manager
    • Administration of the Insurance Policy cover for BankservAfrica (Annual)
    • Manage the Business Interruption / Incidents reporting to BC Policy Committee
    • Assist in the Combined Assurance approach in line with other internal assurance providers.
    • Develop and manage comprehensive processes and risk monitoring systems so as to identify, document, communicate and develop appropriate strategies to mitigate key risks
    • Develop, implement and administer the enterprise risk management program
    • Identify and monitor key risk indicators, tolerances and trends and their correlation to strategic objectives
    • Manage the development of the Strategic risks with the BankservAfrica Board and Executive Management
    • Recommend ways to control or reduce risk to the Business Units within the organisation
    • Facilitate the identification and assist in analysing areas of potential risk to the success of organisation
    • Facilitate in the assessment of risks to business operations
    • Produce reports or presentations that outline findings, explain risk positions and recommend changes
    • Assist in the Monthly (Executive and Senior Management) and Quarterly (Board and Board sub-committees) risk reporting.
    • BCM presentations and reports to Executive and Senior Management
    • Analyse new legislation, in conjunction with relevant departments within the organisation, to determine impact on risk exposure.
    • Maintain data in information systems or databases
    • Maintain and manage all content (ERM and BCM) on the local network for Risk Management
    • Approval and closure of Audit related findings (Risk Management department – ERM)
    • Provide Business Continuity Planning documentation and training to all employees
    • Manage the distribution of the BCM Policy, BCM Frameworks and BCP document to staff through the local intranet and OnBase
    • Ensure preplanning for Business interruption is ongoing and sustainable and contingency plans are developed to deal with different organisational emergencies
    • Manages annual enhancement of the Business Continuity Plan (Contingency plans per crisis event)
    • Completes Crisis Management training and simulations with Senior and Executive Management
    • Develop and regularly update BCP document with the inclusion of risk assessments and business impact assessment
    • Ensure that the BCP document is updated with the Business Impact Assessment (across all business units), is aligned to IT responses and Contingency planning and the latest version approved by Executive and Senior Management (Operations Forum)
    • Perform periodic reviews and tests of established Business Continuity Plans and procedures, reporting findings to Senior Management and making recommendations for improvements as needed
    • Completes Crisis Management training and simulations with Senior and Executive Management providing detailed reporting on BCM improvements and the overall enhancement of BCM within the organisation.
    • Approval and closure of Audit related findings (Risk Management department – BCM)
    • Assistance to the Disaster Resilience Team (IT)
    • Promote a positive Risk Management culture/awareness within the organisation
    • Positive awareness of risk related content on the local intranet and OnBase and ability to engage with all levels of BankservAfrica staff
    • Responsible for the Induction of new employees, design and maintain Induction presentation
    • Present/assist the risk Management induction session with new staff; training to current staff; and awareness of risk related content on the local intranet and OnBase
    • Facilitate the communication of the nature, opportunities and impact of key risks to stakeholders
    • Risk reporting to Senior and Executive Management, as well as Board and Board sub-committees.

    QUALIFICATION / KNOWLEDGE 

    • Degree in Risk Management or an equivalent
    • Highest level of education: B-Com Honours
    • Microsoft suite

    EXPERIENCE 

    • Minimum 4 -5 years’ experience in risk management
    • +/- 3 years risk experience (Risk Champion, Risk Co-ordinator, Risk Specialist)
    • Experience in enterprise risk management and business continuity management

    Test Analyst

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • As a Test Analyst at BankservAfrica, you will report into the Team Lead Testing and  you will be responsible for the test planning and test execution of software products developed by the BankservAfrica system development team.
    • Attention to detail, your ability to see the big picture, logical and critical thinking skills, Proficiency in document and report writing and ability to work in a team are key attributes for this role

    Your role responsibility will be to:

    • Determine scope of testing, including impact, risk and prioritisation
    • Creation of test plans
    • Prepare test cases and test packs
    • Assist in testing new application systems as well as enhancements to existing systems. Apply advanced testing techniques on system software, record and interpret results.
    • Oversee execution of prepared test cases and test scenarios
    • Manage the defect resolution process
    • Liaise with Test lead, project managers and software teams in terms of testing plans, requirements and test progress.
    • Provide test assistance to existing clients to meet testing requirements.
    • Provide test assistance to new clients during the onboarding process.

    Qualifications and Knowledge

    • Matric with Mathematics
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
    • Test Certification - ISEB Test Certification would be preferable
    • Required computer literacy levels

    Chief Information Officer

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • The Chief Information Officer (CIO) leads and inspires the internal Technology and Operations Delivery teams. As a member of the Executive Team, the incumbent identifies and acts on opportunities for development and continuous improvement, encourages prudent risk-taking, and explores alternative approaches and organizational learning.     • Technology is driving significant change in the payments industry. The CIO must stay abreast of emerging technologies and provide strategic and operational leadership on areas that pose direct or indirect implications on BankservAfrica’ s mission critical clearing and settlement systems. The incumbent will partner with internal and external stakeholders to drive operational excellence at BankservAfrica. The CIO has a principal internal customer, the Chief Customer Officer & Chief Product Officer responsible for customer relationships and all our products and services across the customer verticals. The CIO and the Chief Product Officer are jointly responsible for delivery according to the Service Level Agreements agreed with our customers.

    • Providing direction on what emerging technologies to introduce and integrate within the enterprise to ensure IT capabilities respond to the needs of the business.
    • Evaluating alternative delivery options and external partnerships to ensure efficient and successful delivery of technology solutions.
    • Managing the annual operating and capital expenditure budget for Technology to ensure it is consistent with overall strategic objectives of the organization and is within the approved budget plans.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field
    • MBA considered an asset
    • Minimum 15 years’ experience in a senior IT leadership role
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in leading cross-functional teams
    • Experience in delivering Cloud native mission critical solutions
    • Experience in developing and implementing technology strategies and plans

    KNOWLEDGE
