    Medical Specialist- Emergency Medicine

    Requirements :

    • Medical Qualification: MBBCh (or equivalent), FCEM (SA) or equivalent, MMED Emergency medicine (Or equivalent). HPCSA: Registration with HPCSA as an Independent Medical Specialist in Emergency Medicine at the time of starting employment.
    • Proof of current registration with HPCSA. Beneficial: Candidates with publication(s) in an accredited journal(s) will score higher in short-listing and interviews. Commuted Overtime is compulsory.

    Duties :

    • The incumbent will be responsible to investigate, diagnose and oversee the treatment of patients. Improve quality of care by providing appropriate clinical care supervising of junior medical staff.

    Requirements :

    Deputy Director- Patient Affairs

    Requirements :

    Driver

    Requirements :

    • Grade 12. No experience required. Be in a possession of a valid driver’s license with a valid PDP at own expense. Knowledge and understanding of customer care (Batho Pele Principles and six ministerial priorities of Health).

    Assistant Director - Supply Chain Management

    Requirements :

    • An appropriate three- year relevant Degree/ Advanced National Diploma in Supply Chain Management/ Logistics Management/ Public Administration qualification plus 7 years’ experience of which 3 years should be on a supervisory level.

    Head of Clinical Department

    Requirements :

    • Appropriate qualification that allows for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as Medical Specialist: Psychiatry. Current registration with the HPCSA as Medical Specialist: Psychiatry.
    • A minimum of 7 years of appropriate experience in Psychiatry as a Medical Specialist. A minimum of 3 years of appropriate experience in management in clinical setting (Head of Clinical Unit/Department or similar). Either a qualification in Forensic Psychiatry subspeciality or a minimum of 3 years of experience in forensic psychiatry.
    • Computer literacy (Ms Word, Ms Excel, PowerPoint). Sound knowledge of government regulations, policies and acts. The ability to interpret and implement policies.
    • Project management skills. Teambuilding, people and interpersonal relations skills. Communication skills (verbal and written) Organizational, problem solving and interventional skills.
    • Highly motivated and enthusiastic to contribute to the psychiatric care and services. The ability to work under pressure, lead transformational change in a complex environment and the ability to manage change in the department. Experience in administration, finance, education and research.
    • A special interest or expertise in a branch of the specialty (this experience should be in terms of clinical service provision, teaching, administration and research).
    • Additional qualifications/training in Psychiatry specialties, a higher degree in Health Science (PhDs) other than the degree for specialization and experience in the Public Sector will be an advantage.

    Duties :

    • Co-ordinate, manage and administer efficient and cost-effective psychiatric services at the institution. Manage human resources in the clinical department, including Clinical Support and Therapeutic Services (CSTS) and support staff members. This includes recruitments, performance management and development, department’s workplan management and work allocation.
    • Oversee the management of financial and other resources allocated to the clinical department. Oversee and ensure good governance in the department, clinical governance and quality assurance in the hospital.
    • Perform clinical service delivery including overtime services when required. Manage all stakeholders’ involvement with the Clinical Department including the University, SAPS, DoJ and GDoH. Involvement with the Policies and planning of the Hospital, in keeping with the Operational and Strategic Plans for GDoH.
    • This includes liaison with all relevant entities linked with GDoH and the NDoH.     Requirements :

    Data Technologist (ICT Technician)

    Requirements :

    • A minimum of Grade 10 or equivalent with 10 years’ experience, Grade 12 or equivalent with 3 years’ experience or a National Diploma or Degree with 2 years experience.

    Clinical Manager (Medical) Grade 1

    Requirements :

    • Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the HPCSA as Medical Practitioner.     KNOWLEDGE

    Duties :

    • Receive unsterile packs from the wards, check that they are complete and in good working condition. Washing of the instruments. Packing, autoclaving, and issuing of sterile packs to the wards.
    • Folding, packing, autoclaving various towels, gowns and small packs. Effective handling of cooled down items to be packed in sterile store area.
    • Responsible for cleaning and damp dusting in the allocated department. Effective utilisation of human, physical and material resources. Adhere to IPC and OHS safety measures.

    Medical Specialist

    Requirements :

    • Grade 1 - FCPsych (SA) and/or MMed (Psychiatry) and registration with the HPCSA as Medical Specialist (psychiatrist).
    • Grade 2- additional 5 years since registration as a specialist.
    • Grade 3- additional 10 years since registration as a specialist. The post is a joint appointment of the Gauteng Department of Health and the University of the Witwatersrand Department of Psychiatry. Participate in forensic psychiatric work (forensic assessments in terms of section 79 of Criminal Procedure Act as well as the management of state patients). Prepare psychiatric and medico-legal reports as required.

    Security Guard

    Requirements :

    • Grade 12. No experience required. The following will be added advantage: Basic Security Officer course Basic Education and Training (NQF Level 03) Knowledge of the Access Control procedures, knowledge of the measures for the control and movement of equipment and stores.

    Duties :

    • Perform access control which include the following; determine whether visitors have appointments for the services that the visitor require, confirm the appointment and refer the visitor to the relevant service delivery point, complete all security registers, escort the visitors to the relevant employee/venue where required, conduct searching to detect unauthorized and dangerous equipment, ensure that unauthorised and dangerous objects do not enter the building, perform proper lockup for all offices and access points, identify suspicious conduct, perform crowd control, report all identified security breaches and non-compliance to the Supervisor.
    • Ensure safety in the building by doing the following: do premises patrol to identify and check that doors are locked as required, that water leaks are reported, identify fire hazards, check that lights switch on and off, identify suspicious objects and packages, provide support in case of emergency, assist medical personnel with restraining of psychiatric and violet patients, wear uniform at all times while on duty.
    • Ensure that equipment, documents and stores do not enter leave the building unauthorized. Perform control room duties by ensuring that all security equipment are in good working condition, attend all phone calls coming into the control room, update all registers in the control room, inform the supervisor of all incidents, Ensure that the control room is never left unattended.

    Requirements :

    • ABET Level 02 or equivalent qualification. No experience required.     Deputy Manager - Forensic Services

    Requirements :

    • Appropriate Bachelor`s degree/ Basic R425. A qualification in Psychiatric Nursing. Post basic Management qualification. Nine (9) years in Nursing and at least five (5) years in management.

    • Support regular audit systems. Monitor the admission procedures of State patients and Obser Vandi, reclassification, conditional discharges and full discharges of State patients.
