    GCC Engineer - Hammarsdale

    About the role

    • In this role, you will plan, organize, implement and control the maintenance activities at Engineering Dept in line with the company’s established set values, goals and objectives, safety and quality policies and standards

    Key responsibilities

    •     Ensuring Plant availability of 95%.
    •     Ensuring safety compliance in terms of OHSACT & Assume the GMR 2.1 responsibilities as a “competent person
    •     Handling of the engineering Department budgets
    •     Lead the team of highly skilled artisans as well as nurturing and developing trainees.          
    •     Ensure the Preventive Maintenance Program is inline and executed timeously. 
    •     Constantly challenging the marketplace for new technology
    •     To perform regular testing on earthing protection system, spray dryers’ fire suppression system.   
    •     Working with internal depts in terms of new product development  
    •     Knowledge of UPS, diesel engine alternators, electrical circuit breakers, condition monitoring on rotating equipment and thermograph test on electrical connections. 
    •     Deep knowledge of pumps, gearboxes, steam, boilers, compressors, air handling units,
    •     cooling towers, water reticulation systems, valves, hydraulics, pneumatics
    •     Develop documentation for maintenance procedures, to assist trouble shooting. 
    •     Equipment calibration – ensure equipment list is kept up to date and calibrated in accordance to the agreed schedule & ensuring that critical spares are available
    •     Developing of SOP’s
    •     Writing up reports, analyzing and upgrading / improvement recommendation for management review.           
    •     Provide technical support to production by ensuring that equipment and machinery are well maintained and optimized to achieve cost effectiveness.       
    •     Perform daily routine inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance activities of plant equipment.
    •     New Equipment installations
    •     Working with engineering suppliers and ensuring they have the best service provided
    •     Maintaining records of maintenance, repair works and subcontractors works. 
    •     Safety & Legal responsibility
    •     Project Work

    Qualifications and skills

    Technical Skills Competencies:

    •     GCC 
    •     Bachelors’ degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering 
    •     Team Player 
    •     Take instructions / communicate in English
    •     At least 4 years’ experience in a Food or Chemical Manufacturing Environment
    •     Completed examination in OHS Act

    Maintenance Planner

    About the role

    • The Maintenance Planner is fundamental to our team. You will be responsible for the planning and scheduling of all maintenance work performed in the area.  You will maintain liaison and coordination between the production and maintenance organizations and maintain appropriate records and files to permit meaningful analysis and reporting of results or work done.

    Key responsibilities

    • Establish, maintain and improve the Maintenance Planning and Scheduling business flow process.
    • Scope the full extent of maintenance work needed to conduct the relevant repair / preventive / predictive / design-out activities on the organization’s plant and equipment
    • Develop cost and time estimates of planned maintenance work
    • Purchase all necessary parts, equipment, services and documentation to perform the maintenance work
    • Write applicable maintenance procedures that promote defect-free maintenance work quality
    • Responsible for up-keep and accuracy of equipment maintenance history and job records database
    • Responsible for up-keep and accuracy of technical information on processes, plant and equipment
    • Convert the organization’s asset management and maintenance strategy into workplace activities
    • Able and competent in root cause failure analysis leadership and investigations
    • Apply good stores management practices and parts management to ensure parts and equipment retain full reliability while stored
    • Schedule maintenance work into production plan
    • Ensure key performance indicators are captured and reported for equipment reliability, maintenance department performance and planning and scheduling business flow proces
    • Continually improving planning, scheduling, purchasing, stores, data management and job reporting systems to increase planning effectiveness and efficiency
    • Collaborate with maintenance supervision to schedule manpower and resources for the most effective production and maintenance outcomes
    • Makes recommendations for system improvement. 
    • Promotes the conservation of energy. 

    Qualifications and skills

    • Relevant completed Diploma.
    • 4 years' experience in FMCG Manufacturing environment.
    • Working knowledge and proficiency in SAP.
    • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Maintenance Planning in the FMCG Industry.
