    Compliance Tax Consultant

    Job Description
    Purpose of position

    • The purpose of this position is to provide a wide range of tax compliance services to a portfolio of corporate clients, ranging from large, local and international corporates to trusts.

    Key roles & responsibilities

    • Completion of company income tax returns, which includes a review of client-prepared tax computations and the preparation of detailed transmittal letters setting out legal arguments for positions taken
    • Calculation of provisional tax payments and completion of IRP6 provisional tax returns
    • Assistance with completion of reconciliations for IT14SD returns
    • Calculation of dividends and interest withholding tax and filing of relevant withholding tax forms
    • Assistance with tax clearance applications
    • Liaising with clients and SARS on a regular basis regarding outstanding income tax information necessary to complete the income tax returns, and drafting responses to SARS queries
    • Calculating taxable income and estimated tax liability / refund
    • Checking assessments
    • Managing own monthly lockup (business book) and preparing billing requests
    • Keeping up to date with changes to legislation relating to the Income Tax Act and changes to SARS efiling
    • Meeting with clients
    • Pro-actively identifying consulting opportunities for other areas of the tax department

    Qualifications And Experience

    • B Comm degree or equivalent
    • Tax qualification and/or tax experience advantageous
    • Experience on ACCFIN or similar tax database package advantageous
    • Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
    • Strong working knowledge of SARS eFiling
    • Exposure to an audit environment advantageous

    ITS Service Delivery Manager

    Description Of The Role And Purpose Of The Job

    • The IT Service Delivery Manager is responsible for developing and leading the team of IT Service Desk Analysts, End User Computing Specialists and IT Asset Management. The role includes the day-to-day support, compliance, SLA management, maintenance, lifecycle management and planning of the production business applications used within their service area and ensuring the support strategy is in alignment with the overall IT and business direction.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Define, document, agree, monitor, measure, report and review against SLA’s the level of IT services provided to the business.
    • Determine, document and agree requirements for new services and produce Service Level Requirements.
    • Manage the day-to day delivery of the services with operational teams and any third party organisations, in accordance with the SLA’s and KPI’s, ensuring that resourcing requirements are appropriately managed
    • Define escalation matrices and manage service escalations to ensure issues are dealt with expediently
    • Communicate proactively and clearly with the key stakeholders to ensure effective, timely understanding and reporting of relevant information.
    • Communicate effectively to ensure the ITS team clearly understands deliverables to, and expectations from internal clients
    • Identify and drive technological improvements that enhance business outcomes for our internal customers

    Experienced Manager - Audit and Assurance Reporting

    Purpose of the position

    • To primarily provide technical assurance and audit reporting services, assistance and training to KPMG partners and staff (audit, tax and advisory) through the Africa region and to provide support to the rest of the audit and assurance team.

    Qualifications And Experience

    • Key roles and responsibilities
    • Researching and answering assurance, audit and review reporting queries for KPMG staff and clients in accordance with International Standards of Auditing (ISA’s), ISAE , ISRE the International Standards Reporting Manual (ISRM) and locally issued South African Auditing Practice Standards (SAAPS) and JSE reporting guide.
    • Reviewing reports submitted to DPP by engagement teams and liasing with the teams on these reports.
    • Assisting with the preparation and presentation of accounting updates and training on ISA’s, ISRM and SAAPS’s for KPMG partners, staff and KPMG clients through the African region
    • Staying up to date with developments in both local standards and ISA’s through internal research and involvement on local topic teams

    Reporting Financial Accountant

    • The Finance Business Unit of KPMG SA is responsible for providing services that support the business objectives and strategy of the firm. It oversees financial systems, planning and management activities, including budgeting and forecasting, collections, reporting and compliance, and creation of value.

    Purpose Of Position

    • The Reporting Accountant role is to assist with financial reporting to business functions and client project query resolutions. This includes identifying solutions for problems relating to Finance responsibilities, management accounting and information. Assisting with all processes related to management accounting and reporting.

    Key Accountabilities

    • The provision of sound financial information and comprehensive reporting for offices, functions and business units to support their business decision making processes.
