    Serialization Optimization Lead

    Job Description

    The purpose of the role is to ensure feasibility and viability of the cost component for one of our key global programmes (Serialization+), across our Asset Digitization portfolio, including scaling globally and being a leader who supports the Program Lead, partnering with, and supporting fellow team members.

    You’ll drive the execution of all cost optimization related activities and strategies within the Serialization+ programme while ensuring new developments are maximized and suitable for operational optimization.

    You’ll partner with our Global Supply Chain function, collaborating with teams across multiple regions and functions fostering change, collaboration and innovation while acting as a problem-solver with a strong result orientation. 

    Key Accountabilities

    • Collaborate closely with partners in R&D, Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Finance and other functions, including 3rd parties, to ensure feasibility and viability of the cost component for scaling S+ globally
    • Oversee the process of drafting the specifications and testing products to ensure they are aligned with the E2E goals
    • Develop, implement and complete comprehensive product cost optimization strategies, methodologies and governance for S+
    • Drive the implementation of all cost improvement focused methods and ways of working that are applied within S+
    • Collaborate with cross-functional units to ensure change initiatives are implemented successfully
    • Create and monitor cost reduction related activities, review and consolidate all corresponding reporting and drive optimization of time to savings, including maintaining the latest cost development projections together with the relevant stakeholders
    • Facilitate decision making, including the Ops/Tech Steering Committee with cross-functional senior management representation
    • Drive the cultural change towards an organization passionate about end-to-end product cost optimization 

    Experience and Qualifications

    • Deep experience within Supply Chain Operations and Supply Chain Finance/Controlling
    • Demonstrated experience and track record in driving cost reductions for services, products and/or solutions
    • Strong project management skills, capable to focus on an effective execution while navigating complexity and ambiguity in a fast-pacing international environment
    • A Bachelor, Master´s or University degree in telecommunications, engineering, technology or an equivalent qualification

    Skills and Knowledge

    • Demonstrated experience and track record in driving cost reductions for services, products and/or solutions
    • Strong project management skills, capable to focus on an effective execution while navigating complexity and ambiguity in a fast-pacing international environment

    Position Purpose:

    Essential Qualifications & Experience:

    • Degree in Business, Human Resources or other associated field
    • 5+ years of senior level staffing experience in Fortune FTSE 100 companies or an external agency/staffing/executive search firm.
    • + 5 years' experience and track record of successfully partnering with internal / external customers as a talent advisor and providing talent solutions.
    • Strong Stakeholder Engagement and Management capability
    • Experience in supporting the business to build capability in selection of best practices through education, embedding consistent practices, communication cadence and use of insights to inform decisions

    Manager: Process Engineering Projects

    Job Description

    • Our Process Engineering, Automation & Technical Systems (PEATS) team is currently recruiting in Gauteng for a Manager: Process Engineering Projects (IMETA). The role reports to the Director: PEATS (IMETA).
    • The successful candidate will be required in Gauteng as they will travel to various sites across the region.

    Purpose

    This position is responsible for fully managing the development and execution of capital and process engineering projects in support of CHEP IMETA Operations.

    Strategic Accountabilities

    • Lead the 5yr Automation Plan for the SSA and Turkey Region.
    • Assist from a technical perspective in developing strategic recommendations to ensure future production capabilities.
    • Lead development of suppliers to support SSA automation road map
    • Ensure compliance with spending policies and associated financial controls and requirements related to capital expenditures.
    • Ensure compliance with CHEP Safety standards and all applicable environmental standards
    • Report on project performance to CHEP supply chain and PEATS. 

    Project Management Accountabilities

    • Develop Project Scope/Charter document for each Capital project and implement Project Management Life cycle processes. 
    • Identify and request for project team for every project.
    • Report project status in steering committees to PEATS Management
    • Develop financial business cases for each Process engineering capital project using collaboration between Operations, Finance & Process Engineering
    • Develop with the assistance of procurement the request for information, proposal and quote process for equipment supply.
    • Ensure the successful implementation of project closing process on each Process Engineering project with assistance of Project engineers.
    • Lead the implementation of innovations and new developments in technology to comply with CHEP standards and create operational efficiencies.
    • Drive the implementation of pilot technology trials for Global PEATS in IMETA region.
    • Track and report Project progress with all stakeholders as required against project deliverables. 
    • Managing supplier capacity loading
    • Making educated decisions on the design of Plant equipment.
    • Analysing and resolving customer problems.
    • Working in a matrix environment, as each Project has different stakeholders.

    Team Management

    • Direct leader of CHEP project engineers, responsible for their personal development and team performance management process
    • Lead project teams in all capital projects.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Completed BSc/BEng/BTech (Mechanical Engineering OR Mechatronics Engineering OR Electrical Engineering OR Industrial Engineering
    • Project Management Certification (Advantageous)
    • MBA (Advantageous)
    • 5-10 years of project engineering and/or related project management experience.
    • Project Management experience mandatory.
    • Non-Engineering operations experience e.g., production, logistics, or quality a plus.
    • People management experience a plus.

    Skills and Knowledge

    • Skilled in the use of project management methods and tools such as MS Project.
    • Knowledge of Project Management principles & processes
    • Knowledgeable in the utilization of material handling and related light industrial equipment.
    • Knowledgeable in basic industrial electrical wiring, process piping and machine guarding principles.

    Technical Lead

    Position Purpose

    • Define, design, and implement major parts of the software architecture for the IT team in tight collaboration with product management and engineering team members, keeping close contact with CHEP business teams working on IT Supply Chain Solutions.
    • The work performed is on all levels of detail from the review of individual code elements to data model and component design to module integration scenarios, with the intent to build a valuable application that is embedded in the fabric of business applications run by Brambles.

    Essential Qualifications

    • Substantial software development and design expertise with large and complex systems, ideally in enterprise software and specifically around supply chain management.

    Experience

    • 5+ years of experience in software development – or proven, exceptional software design contributions in previous positions
    • Must have acquired deep understanding combined with practical real-world experience in different software technologies
    • Hands-on expertise in multiple programming languages such as SQL, JavaScript, Java, Go, and/or Python, ideally across the software stack with Web user interfaces, algorithm development, relational data models and different types of data management technologies
