    Data Engineer

    Here's what we're looking for!

    • We are looking for a dedicated individual passionate about data We are looking for a savvy Data Engineer responsible for expanding and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams. The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up. The Data Engineer will support our data analysts and data scientists on key data deliverables.
    • You must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems and products. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of optimizing or even re-designing our company’s data architecture to support our next generation of products and data initiatives.

    Requirements

    • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
    • Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures and data sets.
    • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Strong analytic skills related to working with both structured and unstructured datasets.
    • The candidate should have extensive knowledge working with Sales, Marketing and/or FMCG or Pharma data.
    • Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management.
    • A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets.
    • Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable ‘big data’ data stores.
    • Strong project management and organizational skills.
    • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.

    We are looking for a candidate with experience in a Data Engineer role, who has attained a Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field. They should also have experience using the following software/tools:

    • Experience with big data tools
    • Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including Postgres
    • Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools
    • Experience with Azure cloud services: Databricks, Azure DB etc
    • Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: preferably Python

    Data Scientist

    Here's what you'll be doing!

    • Build the machine learning models needed to predict consumer preferences as well as expected behaviour, with consumer segmentation models also needed
    • Build models for sales forecasting and monitoring
    • Engage with numerous teams across the organization to ensure they are empowered by having processes automated.
    • Building machine learning models for various use cases across the organization.
    • Use research and insight to drive cultural change within the organisation and ensure stakeholders put consumers at the heart of their planning and strategic thinking.
    • Lead the design, development and implementation of automation solutions that meet business objectives
    • Interpret and analyse data from multiple sources, providing key analytics.
    • Pro-actively provide actionable recommendations based on analysis results across various stakeholders and teams.
    • Thinks strategically and communicates creatively to inform and drive the decision making of stakeholders

    Requirements

    • At least 1-2+ years of experience in analytical and data driven environments.
    • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (POWER BI), databases (SQL), programming (R and/or Python)
    • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS) would be advantageous
    • Demonstrated experience in driving results and co-ordinating activities to solve problems across multi-functional/diverse teams; and leading with high energy and a positive attitude.
    • Sound judgement in addressing commercial challenges. Previous FMCG experience would be an advantage.
    • Strong analytical and data skills.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral and excellent relationship building skills.
    • BSc in Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics/ Physics Postgraduate (Honours or Masters)

    UX/UI Designer

    Here's what you'll be doing!

    • We are looking for a UI/UX Designer to turn our data tools into easy-to-use products for our organisation. UI/UX Designer responsibilities include gathering user requirements, designing graphic elements and building navigation components. To be successful in this role, you should have experience with building front-ends for dashboard tools such as POWER BI or Tableau. If you also have a portfolio of professional design projects that includes work with other design software, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you’ll create both functional and appealing features that address our organisations’ needs and simplifying the user experience with our in-house data solutions.

     

    • Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with our data engineer
    • Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps
    • Design graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs and widgets and front-ends
    • Build page navigation buttons and search fields
    • Create original graphic designs (e.g. images, sketches and tables)
    • Prepare and present to internal teams and key stakeholders
    • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)
    • Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback
    • Adhere to style standards on fonts, colors and images

    Requirements

    • Proven work experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role, preferably with a data team
    • Portfolio of design projects
    • Knowledge of POWER BI and/or Tableau
    • Team spirit; strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders
    • Good time-management skills
    • BSc in Design, Computer Science or relevant field

    BI and Reporting Specialist

    Here's what you'll be doing!

    • Obtain, document and analyze reporting needs and requirements through collaboration with department leaders
    • Translate reporting needs into production reports and dashboards (Tell the story of data)
    • Work across functional lines to strive for and ensure consistent data quality
    • Conduct continuous review of reports and identify opportunities for improvements with the aim of minimizing redundant reporting and development of single source of truth where possible
    • Develop and maintain dashboards to visualize data utilizing Power BI, Spotfire or Tableau
    • Automate data preparation and report creation where possible
    • Development of ad-hoc reports as necessary
    • Provide increased focus on analytics and emphasize on providing valuable insights to drive improvement opportunities
    • Build understanding of business and operational strategies and identify critical metrics required to support those strategies
    • Perform analysis and develops recommendations for continuous improvement opportunities
    • Ability to handle various data sources, using data modeling work to develop reporting capabilities and valuable insights across these data sources is key.

    Requirements

    • Previous experience in a data analysis or reporting role will be advantageous
    • Demonstrated experience in design, develop and maintain BI reports, optimizing efficiency in manipulating data and writing complex queries.
    • Background in statistics and business/data modeling
    • Microsoft Excel expertise
    • Experience in Microsoft Business Intelligence – SSIS, SSRS & SSAS
    • Hands on experience in using different DBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, MSQL & Access).
    • Hands-on experience in Power-BI/Tableau

    ETL Developer

    Here's what you'll be doing!

    • You will build ETL pipelines to ingest the data from heterogeneous sources into our system. You should have excellent business and communication skills, and be able to work with business owners to understand their data requirements and help them make data-related decisions using your ETL knowledge and experience.

    The job role might also require you to learn new tools and technologies fast, and you should have in-depth database knowledge as well as programming and scripting skills. You will help to build efficient and stable data pipelines which can be easily maintained in the future. You should have expertise in the design, creation, management, and business use of large datasets.

    • Design, implement, and continuously expand data pipelines by performing extraction, transformation, and loading activities

    Master Data Management Manager (MDM)

    Here's what you'll be doing!

    This is an exciting opportunity for you as you'll be responsible for working with the data and business users to provide direction and hands-on support for enterprise data governance with the goal to improve the visibility, trust and value in enterprise data assets. The Master Data Manager will define the vision, goals and objective for providing useful information and ensuring alignment on priorities, implementation and governance with key stakeholders.

    • Defines and implements a collaborative approach for proactive monitoring, detecting, assessing and cleansing data quality issues to ensure fitness for intended uses and sustained quality.
    • Builds the strategy, develops the roadmap, and manages the backlog and end-user support for the application platforms for data governance, data quality monitoring, and master data management capabilities.
    • Ensures benefits realization and lessons learned are documented and embedded into subsequent planning cycles and activities.
    • Develops, designs and implements metrics/dashboard reporting for key management initiatives
    • Partners with data scientists and data engineers in requirements gathering and reviews.
    • Responsible for analyzing and translating business, information and technical requirements into a strategy that outlines solutions to achieve business objectives.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
    • 3+ years experience in information lifecycle management including experience with data governance, data quality, master data management and business intelligence
    • 3+ years management experience
    • Ability to assemble, analyze, and evaluate data and to be able to make appropriate and well-reasoned recommendations and decisions to the business stakeholders and project team
    • Strong leader who can work with multiple stakeholders, develop and execute information strategy while being able to manage day-to-day tactical activities
    • Experience with Microsoft POWER BI and other business intelligence tools. Experience with MDM solutions.
    • Skilled in being a strong team player
    • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with multiple project assignments; ability to effectively execute tasks while under pressure
