    Learnership Progamme

    Purpose

    OVK Retail is looking for dynamic and ambitious candidates to join the OVK agriculture family. The successful candidate will gain practical exposure in the Retail business as well as the opportunity to work with our Retail team to learn new skills and gain business insight.

    Upon successful completion of the learner program, the candidate will receive a National Qualification that is registered on the National Qualifications Framework and is recognised nationally.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Grade 12 with Afrikaans , English ( Mathematics and/or Accounting will serve as a recommendation);
    • Valid drivers license will be beneficial.

    Skills:

    • Good communication and language skills in Afrikaans and English;
    • Computer Literate (MS Office);
    • Numerical skills;
    • Must be able to function under pressure;
    • Good interpersonal skills.

    Branch Assistent - Barkly East

    Main purpose of the position:

    Execution of assigned responsibilities, marketing and customer service within a trading branch environment.

    Minimum Requirements:          

    • Grade 12;
    • 1 – 2 years experience in a trade branch a recommendation;
    • 2 years experience in customer service and marketing an advantage.

    Skills:

    • Computer literate (MS Office);
    • Sound communication and language skills in Afrikaans and English;
    • Good numerical ability;
    • Good organisational skills;
    • Good sales skills.

    Responsibilities:

    • Marketing and providing excellent customer service;
    • Handling of cash;
    • Control over stock;
    • Management of the shelves;
    • Handling of administration.

    Assistant Branch - Clocolan

    Main purpose of the position:

    Participative and supportive management of the branch at a profit and providing sustainable service, trade and agricultural products in the designated area.

    Minimum Requirements:            

    • Grade 12 (an agricultural qualification will be an advantage);
    • 3 – 5 years experience in an agricultural environment;
    • Valid drivers license.

    Skills:

    • Sound communication and language skills in Afrikaans and English;
    • Natural ability to successfully function in a competitive agricultural environment;
    • Computer literate (MS Office);
    • Good numerical ability;
    • Good organisational skills;
    • Ability to positively influence staff and take disciplnary action in accordance with the Labour Relations Act;
    • Good time management skills;
    • Strong leadership skills.

    Responsibilities:

    • Supporting management of administration;
    • Support to promote market share;
    • Supporting management to personnel matters;
    • Supporting management to stock control;
    • Supporting management and maintenance of assets.

    Main purpose of the position:

    Procurement, pricing, marketing of fuel and regulation of safety standards at filling stations and depots within OVK.

    Minimum Requirements:              

    • Grade 12;
    • Degree/ Diploma in Marketing;
    • 3 years industry (fuel) related experience;
    • Valid driver’s license.

    Skills:

    • Sound communication and language skills in Afrikaans and English;
    • Computer literate (MS Office);
    • Good interpersonal skills;
    • Must be prepared to work long hours;
    • Good people relationships;
    • Ability to build and maintain relationships;
    • Conflict Management skills;
    • Good negotiation skills;
    • Good numeracy skills;
    • Motivation and development of staff.

    Responsibilities:

    • Identification, analysis and exploitation of opportunities;
    • Management of fuel prices;
    • Report writing;
    • Asset management.
