    Project Engineer: Electrical - Umkomaas

    As a Project Engineer: Electrical, you will be responsible for:

    • Lead the electrical engineering and design for the execution of the electrical scope of projects
    • Develop electrical strategy and design criteria to suit the unique project requirements
    • Utilise approved design to compile a project plan to facilitate the execution and close out of related project work
    • Recommend maintenance schedules for new projects and install bill of materials onto SAP
    • Work with Plant Engineers to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations
    • Develop and coordinate project justifications, cost estimates, and execution plans
    • Execute and lead medium-sized turnkey projects in Saiccor Mill and take responsibility for end-to-end service delivery
    • Manage project budget allocations and ensure that project costs are within the planned budget
    • Controlling finance by managing supplier commitments on projects while tracking and pursuing invoicing milestones to maintain a favourable cash flow position
    • Compile and organise documents, progress reports, project plans, and other project documentation, coordinating feedback where required
    • Ensure the safe conduct of projects. Ensuring all safety policies and procedures are followed and embraced to promote a safe working environment
    • Contribute to the health, safety, and environment in the relevant section of the Saiccor Mill by completing hazard/ risk assessments for new equipment and processes
    • Ensure that electrical engineering know-how (processes, equipment, and technologies) is available and shared within the mill by ensuring that all electronic databases are kept up to date including Saiccor Virtual Library, SharePoint, and GTL
    • Co-ordinate training interventions for skills development of subordinates and project team members

    What are we looking for?

    • NQF level 7 qualification (Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering) with 2 years relevant experience OR
    • BTech in Electrical Engineering with 4 years of relevant experience within a heavy industry environment
    • Registration as a PR Technologist or PR Engineer with ECSA will be considered advantageous
    • Project management experience will be considered advantageous
    • Computer literate (MS Office, MS Project, SAP)

    Engineer: Projects (Chemical) - Umkomaas

    As an Engineer: Projects (Chemical), you will be responsible for:

    • Monitor and optimize the process so that efficiencies and raw material usage are improved by investigating new and alternative processes and equipment
    • Plan and obtain approval for plant trials for optimised process conditions and equipment
    • Develop specifications for all process equipment as per the PNID and complete necessary energy and mass balance equations for project designs
    • Develop block diagrams, PNIDs, interconnecting piping drawings, and FDS as required during a project
    • Conduct and chair HAZOPs for PMRS submission
    • Conduct software calculations of flows, pressures, and temperatures in order to determine optimal process line sizing and material selection

    Product Manager - Rosebank

    As Product Manager you will be responsible for:

    • Overall responsibility for every product made at the relevant Mill.
    • Consistently monitor quality and customer feedback related to those products and give regular feedback to Mill personnel.
    • Monitor product cost and work with mill and customers on ways to reduce costs.
    • Product development to meet current and future market demands (coordinates development from inception to future requirements
    • Responsible and coordinate and ensure that regular business team meetings take place at the Mill between sales, business management, mill personnel and product manager to enable product management function
    • Strategically identifying the shortfalls within the mill to manage the market requirements as it relates to the product. Making recommendations to the mill or the HOD of departments
    • Provide Business Managers and Sales Managers with necessary product and marketing tools (specifications, product characteristics etc.)
    • Responsible for the planning and running of trials at mills and at customers with Technical Product Specialists and sales
    • Develop market strategies, plans, budgets, and forecasts.

    • Responsible for product development initiatives at the respective mill.
    • Visit customers with sales representatives.
    • Manage product certification process, not limited to MOSH/MOAH; FSC; Typical values; FDA/BFR compliance.

    What are we looking for?

    • Tertiary qualification/degree or recognised equivalent, with technical training and experience in paper making.
    • 5 years or more technical/manufacturing experience, with a focus on cost management and product engineering – ideally within the printing, packaging or paper industries.
    • The candidate must have a strong technical background with commercial experience.

    Fitter (Paper)

    As a Fitter you will be responsible for:

    • Maintaining  a high level of good housekeeping in the workplace at all times.
    • Reporting all unsafe acts to the Maintenance Foreman, draws spares from Stores – picking list on the computer, etc.
    • Fitting, assembling, grinding and shaping metal parts and subassemblies to fabricate production machines and other equipment.
    • Performing any other allocated tasks that fall within the scope of a Fitter, will be required to work standby and overtime.
    • Identification and development of Annual and Incidental Shut Scope and Execution Programme applicable to all Plants in area of responsibility.
    • Doing daily and weekly inspections on equipment according to a detailed Check-List,  will cover breakdowns after hours and weekends on a standby basis.
    • Understanding the SHEQ requirements of the Section, investigates incidents (SHEQ) and identifies root causes of non-Conformances and corrects deviations.
    • Scheduling maintenance of Plant according to SAP Notifications and Planned Schedules, and does fault finding on systems during breakdown and repair the problem to keep downtime to a minimum.

    What are we looking for?

    • Matric & N2 Engineering (N3 Desirable)
    • Trade Tested Certificate
    • 2 years post-apprenticeship experience in a heavy engineering environment.

    Electrician - Neslpruit

    As an Electrician, you will be responsible for:

    • Install, test, connect, commission, maintain and modify electrical equipment, wiring and control systems as required. Examples include PLC, drives and control equipment.
    • Perform electrical maintenance or remedial work according to SAP notifications, work orders and planned schedules, including during shuts. Complete notifications and work orders on the SAP system.
    • Do fault finding on electrical systems during breakdown and effect the required repairs to keep downtime to a minimum. Participate in failure analysis.
    • Complete daily and weekly inspections on electrical systems and their components according to a detailed checklist. Identify repairs required and recommend preventative maintenance to the foreman.
    • Perform tests on AC and DC motors to determine the condition of the motor windings, insulation, and core lamination.
    • Prepare status reports and activity logs as required.
    • Electricians may be required to cover breakdowns after hours and weekends on a standby basis.
    • Report all defects and equipment risks to the direct supervisor. Draw required spares from stores using the SAP picking list.
    • Performs any other assigned tasks that fall within the scope of an Electrician.
    • Required to work standby and overtime.
    • Understand and comply with the safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) requirements of the section.
    • Comply and perform tasks as per the organisation’s policies, procedures, and best operating practices.
    • Report all unsafe acts to the direct supervisor.

    What are we looking for?

    • Recognised Trade Test Certificate as an Electrician          
    • Grade 12 with Maths and Physical Sceince or N3 Engineering
    • 2 years post-apprenticeship experience with a focus on electrical fault finding in a heavy industrial environment would be advantageous

    Relief Operator: Process Controller (PM2) - Mandeni

    As a Relief Operator : Process Controller, you will be responsible to:

    • Stabilizes abnormal and emergency plant conditions.
    • Monitors and controls plant during normal running conditions and completes all required log sheets and check lists.
    • Prepares plant for start-up and starts up the plant and shut down plant (normal shut, maintenance shut and minor shut).
    • Understands the SHEQ requirements of the job, identify and take corrective action in terms of SHEQ requirements of the job.
    • Complies with all relevant SHEQ requirements of the job and maintains a high level of good housekeeping in the workplace at all times
    • Isolates plant and communicates effectively during shift change-over, informs Machineman or Foreman immediately about any abnormal plant operating conditions.

    • N3 Pulp & Paper Certificate (4 subjects)
    • Three (3) months experience as a Process Trainee
    • Two (2) years’ experience in a paper production environment.

    MRP Controller - Shalaamboot

    As a MRP Controller, you will be responsible for:

    • Run MRP on SAP on a daily basis in single or batch run and action accordingly to ensure availability of engineering spares
    • Record and process all planned orders, items returned and all abnormal demands on a daily basis
    • Analyse all printed planned orders and query planned orders for high value items on a daily basis.
    • Compile Stock Optimisation Report for end user review and feedback. Adjust MRP levels accordingly
    • Compile a weekly report of stock movement for MRO and Machine Clothing items.
    • Record all items being returned to stores with the possibility of cancelling outstanding orders or purchase requisitions on a daily basis.
    • Compile a daily, weekly and monthly report of  stores stock and ensure that  SAP accurately reflects the actual stocks in the plant
    • Investigate all discrepancies  with the Stores Supervisor and end-users, and apply corrective action if necessary on an on-going basis
    • Complete Root Cause Analysis report of any deviations as per ISO procedures and liaise with Inventory Controller and end-users on a monthly basis
    • XCPIM – Ensure information is correct when creating new materials, updating descriptions and when extending materials from other mills.
    • XCPIM – ensure all details are correct in the MRP fields.
    • Manage weekly oil and gas, free issue bolts and nuts stock take and order accordingly.
    • Manage monthly critical stock takes are done and materials ordered accordingly.
    • Support with any additional administration work as and when required.
    • Evaluate and maintain MRP rules.

    What are we looking for?

    • A National Diploma in Procurement / Materials Management or related field
    • At least 2 years relevant experience in Stores / Materials Management environment
    • Experience in the technical and/or manufacturing environment would be an advantage

    Quality Controller - Mbombela

    As a Quality Controller – Stores you will be responsible for:

    • Ensure quality inspections of identified materials received and stored.  
    • Maintain proper physical storage conditions in the stores and the storage specifications on SAP Master Data.
    • Develop and ensure the quality control master and historical data on SAP is maintained at all times.
    • Maintain all reports accurately. 
    • Ensure rotable equipment numbers are created on SAP and equipment is properly marked.
    • Liaise with internal and external customers/suppliers with regards to stock specifications and requirements.
    • Inspect all identified Materials for defects and or deviations and take appropriate corrective actions to have the equipment replaced, maintained, or corrected.
    • Create and Maintain all preventative and corrective maintenance on sensitive spares stored within the stores to ensure the serviceability of the equipment using SAP and QCPs.
    • Identify all defective equipment, remove and or replace as require.
    • Create and implement Quality Controls for identified technical and engineering equipment to ensure the correctness of the equipment.
    • Identifying and managing day-to-day risks.
    • Accountable for ensuring adherence to all safety BP’s, procedures, BBS practices, and regulatory requirements.
    • Achieve 5S status in area of responsibility.
    • Understand and comply with the SHEQ requirements of the job.
    • Ensure sound SHEQ principles are followed within all storage areas.

    What are we looking for? 

    • Qualified Artisan (Millwright, Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation).
    • 5 Years as an artisan but a wide experience/knowledge spanning multiple engineering disciplines, Electrical/instrumentation/Mechanical preferred
