    Job Description

    Your role will take on a range of responsibilities which will include working with the Financial Superintendent, Global Support, accountable for monthly operational plans including the overseeing of Finance for the GSS EMEA regions and performing day to day tasks.

    • Working with the Global Financial Superintendent: You will be responsible for end to end Management Accounting month-end processing which will include ensuring month-end billing runs are effectively and timeously processed. Raising of month-end accruals, journal processing, cost allocations and the scrutinizing of cost centres cost performance and identifying cost saving initiatives. This function will be provided for all cost centres with a specific focus on Talent Acquisition and Onboarding Service Line. The incumbent will also assist in the maintaining of GSS EMEA and De Beers Chart of Accounts.
    • Compiling the Monthly Operations Reports: You will be accountable for assisting the Global Financial Superintendent in compiling the reports which will then be discussed with all the Global Shared Services Senior Managers in monthly meetings you will form part of.
    • Commercial responsibility: Providing cost management support for GSS EMEA – inclusive of monthly actual cost performance, reforecast submissions and annual budget preparation. Ensure that all clients are charged in accordance with SLA delivery.
    • Day to day tasks: This will include forecasting and budgeting cycles that will be sent out to the different managers and discussed with them taking note of their requirements and ensure uploads into the SAP system.

    This role is in the Global Shared Services Group Finance department at a Band 7 level reporting to the Financial Superintendent Global Support.

    Qualifications

    • Relevant Financial or Accounting Degree

    Experience Required:

    • Minimum of 3 years’ solid previous experience in management accounting support for a large multinational or global organisation preferably within a shared services environment
    • Advanced experience in SAP Finance (preferred modules include; FI/ CO/SD) is essential for this role
    • Advance Excel experience (V-look up, H-look up capability)
    • Experience within a Master Data background is advantageous
    • A proven track record in budget and cost management with the ability to analyse and interpret data, ability to manage and priorities a diverse workload to meet time specific deadlines and targets.

    Soft Skills:

    • Analytical and adaptable to various levels of work required with an ease for learning new systems processes

    Project Specialist: Platinum

    Group Processing’s purpose is to ensure that we realise the full potential of the resource endowed to us as a key part of the full value chain. Group Processing is accountable to be operationally relevant through the deployment of value accretive or risk mitigated solutions in operating business units.
    The Project Specialist: Platinum Concentrators’ role is accountable for the technical quality of processing and metallurgy deliverables of major capital projects for Anglo American Platinum’s (AAP) Concentrators, including the incorporation of current and upcoming best practices from across the Group and broader PGM industry.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Provide input to, develop and / or review Processing and Metallurgy deliverables for each project according to its life cycle stage as required, including but not limited to:
      Process Design Criteria, Operating Philosophy, Control Philosophy and Process Description.
      Block / process flow diagrams, mass and energy balances, dynamic models and surge requirements. P&IDs, PFDs, MEL, GA’s, plot plan and data sheets.
      Requirements for reagents, services, utilities, tailings storage, waste disposal and effluent disposal.
      Incorporate test work, modelling, industry / company knowledge in the process design.
    • Provide technical input to risk management processes such as HAZOP and issue-based risk assessments.
    • Plan, direct and supervise test work at specialist laboratories, equipment vendors and the company’s own Research & Development Facility in support of engineering design and process optimization.
    • Analyse operational data as required for design input and project scope clarification.
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Provide process and metallurgy inputs to engineering reviews of drawings and 3D models.
    • Validate the selection and sizing of process equipment

    Qualifications
    Qualifications and Experience required:

    • Necessary: An undergraduate qualification (Bachelors / Honours degree or equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline.
    • Desirable: A postgraduate qualification (Masters / Doctoral degree or equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline OR a proven track record of extensive practical experience in a role and context of similar complexity.
    • Experience in a process plant design or an operational environment.
    • Familiar with Process Analysis and associated tools (incl. modelling capability).
    • High level of computer literacy including design and simulation packages.
    • Knowledge of Project Development Stage Gates and investment criteria deliverables.

    Metallurgical Production Engineer

    You will be responsible for ensuring that the plant process operates effectively and coordinate labour, equipment and services. This position has a legal accountability with a 2.6.1 appointment in terms of the MHSA.

    Your additional responsibilities will include:

    • Ensure that Production targets is focused on controllable variables and not only inputs and that the plat operates in a sustainable matter.
    • Maintain and Optimize plant within process recipe and project execution and monitor and control metals flow and inventories to minimize plant lock up.
    • Develop and maintain site specific standards, codes of practices, systems and procedures in accordance with guidelines and the Act.
    • Identify key performance shortfalls and gaps, and critical improvement areas and develop refinery plant annual budget.
    • Risks and threats to people and process during shift, stopping the operation if the working conditions are unsafe.
    • Planned shutdowns and preventive maintenance of plant section and machinery and ensure integrity of process flow sheet and facilitate and implement new technologies.
    • Application of best practice principles in process safety.
       

    This role is in the Metallurgical Department on a Band 6 level and will report to Manager Production.

    Qualifications
    You must have:

    • A Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or Chemistry (NQF Level 8) is required.
    • Management Development Programme will be advantageous.
    • Valid driving license code B or EB is required in order to travel to the various sites.

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:

    • 5 years or more post graduation experience within a mineral/hydro/phyro metallurgical operation or plant will be advantageous.
    • Experience in Minerals Processing or PGM concentrators will be beneficial.

    • Experience with people management and effective leadership and understanding change management principles.

    Job Description

    You will be responsible for ensuring that the plant process operates effectively and coordinate labour, equipment and services. This position has a legal accountability with a 2.6.1 appointment in terms of the MHSA.

    • Control the plant within the technical recipe and ensure technical audit of the plant is conducted to the required standards, provide technical support to production manager and ensure that recommendations to plant improvement are considered in the “recipe” review process.
    • Support the Plant Manager/Technical Manager to optimise and continually improve the Technical operation of a plant with a 1 – 2 year timeframe.
    • Audit compliance to “recipe” and liaise with plant personnel and provide/liaise with external resources to conduct agreed plant surveys/audit processes.
    • Recommend technical corrective action to operation’s production and monitor all trends, interpret, and report plant key process parameters for discussion with central technical structure.
    • Project execution of agreed audit work & plant surveys (plant diagnostics) and provide detailed analyses of process control/plant performance relationships.
    • Process improvement initiatives and Plant optimization within recipe and identify ongoing capital requirements for plants and troubleshoot and resolve operation problems within plant operating “recipe”
       

    This role is in the Metallurgical Department on a Band 6 level and will report to Technical Manager.

    Manager Mining

    You will be responsible to lead the Mining function and teams to deliver safe, productive outcomes in-line with agreed plans, operating standards and legal requirements.

    The focus areas for this role will be to:

    • Understand the Operating Model with a focus on Work Management and its implications on the various disciplines with a key focus on business improvement tools and techniques and negotiation management with regulatory bodies, institutes and business partners and all other stakeholders.

    This role is in the Mining department at a Band 5 level reporting to the Senior General Manager.
    Qualifications
    You will be required to have:

    • Relevant tertiary qualifications, preferably with a Bachelor of Mining Engineering Degree (or Civil Engineering with post Mining qualifications), or post graduate Mining Master’s degree.
    • Mine Manager Certificate of Competency (MMCC) is required for Metalliferous mines.

    Knowledge, skills and experience required:

    • 2 - 5 years Post Engineering qualification experience inclusive of 5 years within a Bord & Pillar Underground mining operation in Managerial capacity.
    • Good understanding in the latest mining technologies in driving digitalisation and mechanisation within a mining operation.

    • Communicate latest changes in controlled documentation, procedures, standards and code of practice
    • Maintenance of SHE databases and assist with the development and maintenance of SHE systems
    • Preparation of HOD and other presentations as well as maintenance of weekly, montlhy and annual SHE reports.

    Qualifications

    • Grade 12
    • ISO9001 understanding certificate

    Knowledge & Skills required:

    • 2 years administrative experience in a SHE department in the mining sector

    Experience:

    • You will have 5 years Post Qualification experience with focus in the design, implementation and maintenance of process control solutions
    • Experience with Siemens PCS7 and/or Rockwell Control
    • Logix is beneficial

    This is a Generalist role within the Human Resources structure responsible for the maintenance of Human Resources practices and systems within an Operational Area.

    As a Human Resource Officer, you will ensure the effectiveness of the Human Resource department in terms of performing Human Resources functions.

    You will ensure that process flow in the system matches the requirements of the stakeholders and monitor Human Resource processes regularly to ensure conformance to and understanding of standards and procedures by the client.
