    • Working knowledge of at least one additional programming or scripting language (such as Python, Java, or similar).

    • Familiarity with version control, testing, and core software development practices.
    • Strong problem‑solving skills and clear, collaborative communication.

    About the Role

    • This position performs complex research, design, and software development assignments within a software functional area or product line, and provides direct input to project plans, schedules, and methodology in the development of cross-functional software products. This position performs software design — typically across multiple systems; mentors more-junior members of the team; and talks to users/customers and translates their requests into solutions.     About the Role

    • In this role, you will lead a South Africa-based editorial operations team responsible for delivering core UK analytical content and strategic initiatives at scale and pace. This is a delivery-focused managerial role, accountable for operational performance, efficiency, and quality across live, deadline-driven editorial workflows.     Software Engineer II - South Africa

    About the Role

    • We are hiring Software Engineers to work on maintaining, modernizing and enhancing a key product, LexisNexis® Classification. This product uses AI to read millions of patents globally and pull the relevant patents into custom categories that are relevant to the specific technology areas users define.
    • You’ll be working in a small highly skilled agile team, with ownership over the mission and your development practices and process. Your engineering team will be based mainly in South Africa but also across Europe. You will also work closely with existing application teams, as well as with a broader range of stakeholders distributed across the UK, Germany, Netherlands and the USA.

    Responsibilities

    • Ability to contribute to new features.

    • We are seeking a detail-oriented Editor/Publisher II to review, edit, and audit summaries, headnotes, and other annotations created through generative AI processes for caselaw documents, following established guidelines.
