    WIL Coordinator_Pretoria Campus

    The role will support, coordinate, and administrate all WIL-related activities with the students enrolled in their studies on the Pretoria Campus. The WIL Coordinator will work in close liaison with the Head of Work Integrated Learning and the Head of Campus for Pretoria in fulfilment of their duties and responsibilities.

    Responsibilities:

    The candidate will be required to perform various functions that would include:

    • Coordination of all WIL elements of both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes within the Faculty of Applied Psychology
    • Conduct and teach preparatory workshops for both undergraduate and postgraduate WIL modules within the Faculty of Applied Psychology
    • Support students whilst completing their practical hours while completing their WIL module
    • Conduct individual and group supervision of all placement and practicum students
    • Track and evaluate students' progress and development throughout their WIL module
    • Evaluate the students’ performance throughout the module
    • Source new placement sites, and maintain strong relations with existing placement sites
    • Allocate WIL students to SACAP accredited placement sites
    • Allocation of supervisors
    • Coordinate the work of educators and/or supervisors assisting the WIL department
    • Liase with SACAP’s support departments on the progress of all WIL students
    • Promote social impact
    • General administrative duties
    • Maintain progress and regular feedback with the HoWIL

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Relevant 4-year degree in Psychology
    • Registration with the HPCSA is essential
    • Preferred BPsych or BPsych Equivalent degree and registration as a Registered Counsellor for a minimum of 3 years
    • 2 years working experience in a similar role
    • Excellent administrative skills
    • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
    • Highly developed relationship-building /interpersonal skills
    • A passion for social impact
    • Excellent time-management and organizational skills
    • Strong attention to detail

    Student Wellness Advisor_Online Campus (National)

    The role will serve as a trusted resource for students in need of support and guidance, providing counselling, resources, and referrals as needed. It will also work collaboratively with other members of the institution, including faculty, staff, and administrators, to promote a healthy campus environment and help students thrive both academically and personally. This role strongly liaises with the Student Administration team, Academic team, and reports directly to the Student Wellness Manager, Head of Campus and Campus Manager.


    Responsibilities:
    Duties include but are not limited to:

    • Provide individual and/or group counselling (including crisis intervention / debriefing) to students in need of mental health support
    • Acting as a point of contact for all student wellness support and development needs
    • Take on a lead role in student wellness and mental health awareness campaigns and projects
    • Responding to and resolving student queries within the stipulated time frames
    • Involved in termly orientation per new cohort
    • Develop and implement mental health outreach initiatives, including workshops, group sessions, and community events, to promote mental health and wellness among students
    • Tracking and documenting national student wellness support and development metrics
    • Study plans and career guidance
    • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administrators to develop and implement policies and programs that support student well-being and promote a healthy campus environment. Identifying at-risk students and tracking retention
    • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all interactions with students, including progress notes and treatment plans
    • Stay up-to-date on current research and best practices in mental health counselling and wellness promotion
    • Utilising SACAP’s Student Management System to provide expert guidance to SACAP students
    • May act as site coordinator to student counsellors completing their practicum / Work Integrated Learning hours

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • A minimum of a degree qualification in the discipline of Counselling, Psychology or Coaching; or at least 5-years’ experience in a cognate field with high academic results
    • Registered Counsellor with HPCSA
    • Advanced computer literacy skills, including online systems
    • 2 years of full-time experience, preferably within the field of Higher Education
    • Knowledgeable and passionate about SACAP and its offerings
    • Highly developed relationship building / interpersonal skills
    • Excellent written and spoken communication skills

    Student Governance Manager_Head Office

The Student Governance Manager is pivotal in maintaining a conducive learning environment that promotes integrity and ethical behaviour. It involves managing and resolving complaints and grievances related to students, and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to student discipline. The Student Governance Manager also oversees the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to student governance, complaints management, and student discipline.

    Responsibilities:

    The candidate will be required to perform various functions that include but are not limited to:

    • Strategically developing prevention and training strategies for student governance processes
    • Developing and implementing policies and procedures related to the institutional management and alignment of student governance processes
    • Creating a national operational framework to ensure the fairness, integrity, coordination and oversight of the resolution of student governance processes related to students, while also ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
    • Providing advice and support to staff on student governance processes
    • Managing and resolving escalated complaints and grievances
    • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of SACAP’s complaints and grievances process
    • Developing and managing a document storage system and incident tracking for all student governance processes
    • Ensuring institutional alignment for the management of all student governance processes. This includes managing relevant committees

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Three years experience in Higher Education
    • Bachelors degree in relevant field such as Education, Law, or Public Administration
    • Knowledge of and experience in developing relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to student governance, complaints management, and student discipline
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
    • Proven track record of ethical and fair decision making
