    Front End/Web Engineer

    The Company
    We are a fast-growing non-profit social enterprise with offices in the Netherlands, Portugal, India, Kenya, and Ethiopia. Triggerise builds digital platforms that motivate users - primarily young women and adolescent girls - to make positive choices. We work together with local communities and use nudges.

    The Job

    Continuing to determine the structure and design of our web pages, and mobile applications making sure to strike a balance between functional and aesthetic design.  Further develop our corporate website, including dashboards and inclusions of other materials.

    • Implementing visual elements that users see and interact with in a web and mobile application.

    • Maintain, improve existing features ensuring they can be fully utilised by the end user.

    • Work with multi-disciplinary teams, such as back end developers to ensure maximum optimization of the platform

    • Responsible for dashboarding, and making sure that our dashboard looks great!

     

    About you 

    You have an eye for development and design, and are able to apply your creative knowledge to our core websites and application, in order to create user friendly solutions.  You have a thorough understanding of new and emerging technologies, and how they can be applied to our platform in order to maximise the user’s journey.

     

    Requirements

    • Proven experience as a Front End / Web developer.  You have portfolios of your work which can demonstrate projects you have carried out.

    • Understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment.)

    • Demonstrated experience with front end tools and frameworks.

    • Passionate about creating great design and usability

    • Excellent communication skills

     

    The rewards

    At Triggerise we believe in being open, also when it comes to salaries. The salary brackets for this position, excluding benefits, is R34 000 - R51 000 per month in South Africa, KSH 174 900 - KSH 262 300 per month in Kenya and €1 800 Euros - €2 700 in Portugal. We will offer you a salary in this bracket depending on your level of experience and how it relates to your future colleagues.     Learning and Development Lead

    The Job

    Triggerise is growing really fast and we need you to make sure that new people learn what they need to learn but also to enable the organisation, managers and individuals to develop the skills we will need to grow even further. You will train and manage the Learning & Development Officer and together you have a chance to shape this department.

    This is what we’ll ask you to do: 

     

    • Design, build and execute an onboarding programme that can be tailored to different roles. At the end of this programme new people have the practical skills and knowledge they need, but more importantly, they are part of our culture and team. 

    • Build and execute a management training programme that ensures that all our managers lead their teams effectively and in line with our vision of independent, capable employees and teams. 

    • Support managers and employees with individual career development paths. 

    • Organise and execute ad hoc organisational training needs

    • Measure your impact and report on it

     

    About You

    You know how people learn things and can turn your knowledge into practical training programmes. You are passionate about seeing people grow and learn. You are creative, independent and have a vision on how this should be done. At the same time, you don’t mind getting your hands dirty when we need to design or give our own training.

     

    Requirements

    • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administrations, Organisational Psychology or related field or equivalent working experience

    • 5 years in a similar role

    • You have significant experience designing online and in person training

    • It’s a big plus if you have built an organisation learning programme before

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    Account Manager

    The Job

    You oversee the implementation of our operations in South Africa. Part of our operational work is done by our own team and part is done by external partners. You work with both to make sure we create the impact we need. Your main responsibilities will be:
     

    • You kick-start and monitor progress on operations and ensure that our teams have the right structures, knowledge and tools to be successful. 

    • You liaise with local ministries, authorities and donors to ensure smooth execution, compliance and success.

    • You collaborate with our academy and grants teams to solve problems and to improve our operations.

    • You analyze on the ground implementation for patterns and trends and feed your findings back into the organisation so we can learn and grow.

    About You

    You are an experienced lead. You know what it takes to set up and execute a successful programme because you have done it before. You can enable and influence your partners and stakeholders. You have the right network to help you be successful. You are effective but diplomatic. You can work in a highly matrixed, global organisation and find and muster the resources from within the organisation that will help you build successful operations. You are driven about our work and creating impact. You operate on a strategic level and can translate this to tactics.  
     

    Requirements

    • You're based in South Africa. 

    • A Masters degree in a relevant field

    • At least 5-8 years experience in a similar position, working with different partners

    • Experience with SRH projects and preferably also Education & Employability

    Backend Java Developer

    The Job

    You will form an integral part of our Agile tech team who are responsible for creating and maintaining the software that allows our platform to function. You’ll also be responsible for:

    • The maintenance and development of new features on our software platform.

    • Applying the principles of software engineering to the design, development, maintenance, testing and evaluation of our software.

    • Ensuring that the software you develop is secure and safe when it comes to data protection.

    • Working closely with team members, on development and other projects.

     

    About you

    You have in-depth development experience using Java and building software from the ground up. You’re a logical thinking and a natural problem solver who wants to use your technical skillset to make an impact.

    Requirements:  

    • You hold a minimum of 2 - 6 years of experience in a software development role.

    • You have worked extensively with a number of backend tools and frameworks including Java.

    • Experience within Micro Services, AWS, and Fraud will be an advantage. 

    • You have the required technical skills & knowledge required to effectively program our software.
