    Branch Manager - VKB Retail, Limpopo Distribution Centre (DC)

    Job Function

    • The successful candidate will be responsible for the successful management of the Distribution Centre (DC) in Limpopo. 

    Job Requirements

    • Grade 12/ NQF 4
    • Minimum 5-Years’ experience within the Agricultural environment
    • Proven ability to manage a stock component of R30 Million per month
    • Proven knowledge of agri-business stock needs and necessities 
    • Comfortable in managing a diverse staff component of 30 – 40 employees
    • Proven experience in managing the logistics component of a business is essential
    • Willing to work afterhours as and when required based on operational requirements
    • Intermediate to advanced level of MS Office

    Job Description

    • Overall management of business unit
    • Managing the DC's fleet and planning routes which includes the distribution of 70 – 100 tons of product daily with a fleet of 5 – 10 delivery vehicles
    • Limit stock losses through daily, weekly and monthly stock counts
    • Limiting expired stock and managing slow moving stock (this includes frozen products, FMCG’s components, chemicals and pesticides, etc.)
    • Managing the HR Function within the business unit which includes but it not limited to leave schedules, performance, discipline and overall building of long-term relationships
    • Continuously adding value to the industry through reaching the organizations' strategic and operational goals
    • Excellent customer service including dealing with queries and complaints
    • Ability to be creative in striving to continuously exceed goals and targets
    • Submitting weekly reports identifying risks to Head Office
    • Ensure business unit comply with all relevant legislation

    Key Responsibilities:

    What We’re Looking For:

    To succeed in this role, you’ll need more than just HR expertise—you’ll need a strategic mindset, a passion for leadership, and a drive to make a difference. Here’s what we’re looking for:

    • Experience: A proven track record in HR management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably in an agriculture industry and/or retail
    • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or related fields 

    Skills & Expertise:

    • Strong understanding of South African labour laws and HR best practices
    • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Proven leadership in a multi-site, diverse workforce environment
    • Expertise in HR systems and analytics, with the ability to leverage data for informed decision-making.
    • Experience in change management, conflict resolution, and leadership development.
    • A proactive approach to problem-solving, with an ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs.
    • Willingness to be based in and travel regularly within the Limpopo province
