Role Purpose

The Financial & Commercial Modeler role is based within Vodacom Business.

• The Financial & Commercial Modeler designs and implements digital business models for complex, digital transformation projects with our clients, starting with customer requirements that are solved with the best possible solutions from several parties. The successful candidate is able the reduce the complexity of very detailed and thought through models to the essentials that can be clearly visualized and communicated to internal and client management.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Own responsibility for all key financial and commercial modelling: create complex (digital) business and revenue models for customer projects involving solutions from multiple parties as well as implementing them
• Design digital business models that mirror the necessary complexity for digital transformation projects, sometimes influencing our client’s business models, which at same time are easy to communicate and visualize for our clients to understand
• Build financial models which shall be integrated models with clear input and output structures producing P&L, Cash Flow statement, Balance Sheet and Valuation
• Develop data analytics/ BI-based strategic modeling and reporting on results
• Understand compliance, regulatory and risk-related aspects of any project and ensure that any strategy, plan and model takes these into account
• Support Digital Co-X Lead with work related to identifying partnering opportunities with companies (engaged in the global start-up and innovation ecosystem)

The Ideal Candidate For The Role Will Have

• Matric
• Master degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics/ Science, Business Administration or similar
• 10 years + experience in management consulting/ strategic finance on Manager/ Associate Partner level
• Deep experience in building complex investment cases and financial models
• Exceptional ability to reduce the complexity of detailed business models to the key essentials and to translate into dynamic business cases/ financial models
• Good knowledge in principles of lean innovation, the digital value chain, i.e. cloud computing, big data and analytics, fintech technologies, (Industrial) IoT
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact comfortably with a cross-section of management, including C-suite executives, at a global level
• Experience in agile ways of working is advantageous

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Manage architecture vision and roadmap in alignment with the Group Architecture blueprint.
• Manage innovation and establish the capability to monitor new technology developments and trends in the industry
• Define and take accountability for the high-level technical strategy for Financial Services, Digital Lifestyle Services, Enterprise Technology, Digital and Cloud Domains domains
• Work collaboratively with consulting partners and IT teams to ensure high quality of solution delivery
• Engage with technology partners, cross-functional IT groups and the Business to maximize effectiveness and efficiency of development in support activities

The Solution Architect is responsible for designing and leading the implementation of a solutions and capability architecture for a particular business capability / user journey, according to the overall digital vision and target architecture. This role is responsible for the technical analysis and holistic solution design of future capabilities and features, including external dependencies, cross-domain APIs, and technical enablers / stories. This role is responsible for reviewing the target architecture vision and roadmap, evaluating and prioritizing roadmap items, and translating them into designs and non-functional requirements. This incumbent is responsible for providing support to engineering to ensure development of technical stories are aligned to defined architecture paradigms, principles, and patterns.

Must Have Technical / Professional Qualifications

• Five to seven years of experience in at least three disciplines, such as business, information, solution or technical architecture, application development, middleware, information analysis, database management or operations in a multitier environment
• Extensive exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments
• Extensive experience in business capability modelling and technical and solution architecture development in a digital business context
• Experience working with agile methodologies, such as Scrum, Kanban, XP, TDD, and BDD
• Professional experience and knowledge of digital and Telecommunications industries strongly preferred
