- Competencies (knowledge/skills): Computer literacy (MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) as well as demonstrating experience in using JAC/ WellSky dispensing system. Knowledge of Good Pharmacy Practice and of institutional pharmacy practices and procedures. Knowledge of Medicine Supply Management Principles, including cold chain management.
- Appropriate knowledge of National and Provincial Health Policies, Medicines Act 101of 1965, the Pharmacy Act 53 of 1974 and Public Finance Management Act. Ability to plan, manage time effectively, take accountability, problem solve, innovate, work accurately under pressure and maintain a high standard of professionalism. DUTIES :
- Providing a safe, efficient, cost-effective comprehensive pharmaceutical service. Dispensing of medicines including documenting & assisting with medicine related queries.
- Effective control of pharmaceutical stock in Pharmacy and the Wards, including receiving, storage, control, distribution, cold chain management and temperature monitoring. -
- Assisting with data collection and record keeping. Assisting with training, teaching and mentoring of Pharmacy staff. Supporting the Pharmacy supervisor with process improvement strategies, audit compliance and adhering to GPP requirements.
- Compliance with all People management policies and practices, including conflict & complaint management. Ensuring adherence to Infection Control and Occupational Health & Safety Practices.

REQUIREMENTS :
Minimum educational qualification:
- Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification (R683 plus R254) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. - Inherent requirements of the job: Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s licence. Willingness and ability to travel within the Metro. Willingness to participate in the commuted overtime system within the Metro Health Services.
- Competencies (knowledge/skills): Ability to oversee and report on radiological procedures, primarily CT-scanning services at a Regional Hospital. Appropriate experience in teaching, training and supervision of medical staff Work with a team of hospital clinicians to optimise use of CT-scanning facilities. Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, hospital procedures and policies. Good computer literacy skills in the MS Office package.
DUTIES :
- Clinical service provision, primarily manage, administer and co-ordinate the implementation of a comprehensive CT scanning service. X-ray reporting, provide statistics and strategic planning and assistance for ultra-sound services.
- Ensure the maintenance of quality care standards in the radiology services together with Chief Radiographer and Clinical Manager.
- Guide staff, teaching, training and supervision of staff. To support the Metro West platform as required. Efficient use of resources, manage assets, consumables, and services effectively.
