    Fibre Technician (FTTH)

     KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Have experience in FTTH and GPON Fibre Networks.
    • Demonstrate a high level of experience in Fibre fault finding and preventative maintenance on existing infrastructure.
    • Have the excellent skill to repair Fibre Cable and Splice Enclosures to the highest standards
    • Have strong ability to route fibre in Splice Enclosures and Slack Bins without any damage.
    • Have a high level of experience of Splice Diagrams and have the ability to read and splice accordingly.
    • Have expert knowledge of fibre tools and the correct usage of these tools.
    • Have expert experience in Fusion splicing methodology, Splice Machine care and the usage of Fusion Splicing Machines.
    • Have experience in Fibre testing procedure and be able to use Power Meter, Light Source and OTDR(IOLM)(Bi-directional) testing and be able to analyze results on site.
    • Have the ability to do extensive fault-finding on existing Fibre Networks.
    • Have networking experience.
    • Have experience in Labelling of Fibre as per Plans as well as different Labelling Conventions.
    • Have the ability to identify problems on new networks and report immediately.
    • Assist with Core Network splicing

    Network Planner (FTTH)

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Create quality Premise Data (PD), High-Level Designs (HLDs), Low-Level Drawings (LLDs), Splicing & Duct diagrams, Patch Plans (PP) and As Builts (AB)
    • Planning done on time
    • Planning done within budget
    • Ensure compliance to client standards
    • Coordinate with internal departments, clients, and external contractors to align planning activities with project requirements.
    • Capture project progress on CRM Tool (e.g. Quickbase, Fusion)
    • Assist in the preparation of project costing, create BOQs, and rate cards to support commercial viability.

    Assistant Project Manager (FTTH)

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Plan, schedule, track and report weekly on project.
    • Supervise project team members and contractors.
    • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and contractors.
    • Identify and manage project dependencies, changes and risks.
    • Support with planning and facilitating effective projects meetings with project team and stakeholders,
    • Effectively support with allocation of available resource, material and costing information.
    • Support with budgeting (actual vs forecast).
    • Align on the correct tools and best practices for project management.
    • Ensure that projects are completed within the required specifications and standards (civil and technical)
    • Conduct a pre-Civil Acceptance (CAC) and Hand Over Certificate (HOC) inspection.

    • Prepare S-build documentation as per standards

    • Ensure that technical teams have all necessary PPE and tools to perform their duties.
    • Conduct daily risk assessments and toolbox talks.
    • Support any incident investigation and reporting if required.
    • Support with splicing and other diagrams if required, and planning amendments.

    Stock Controller - BMCT

    POSITION STATEMENT

    • To handle, record and complete daily physical stock transfers, picking and packing of orders, managing good warehousing and replenishment of low stock items.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Actively participate in performing periodic and random stock counts (main warehouse and technicians)
    • Capturing of count records on the system
    • Variance/s identification / investigations
    • Performing regular stock checks and informing Supervisor / preparing the Purchase Requisitions to ensure no stock outs
    • Capturing and completing of all jobs into the system
    • Checking of all stock received in the Warehouse
    • Packing of all stock received neatly in the correct location
    • Correctly receiving, recording, capturing of stock received from supplier
    • Check stock requested for has the correct picking slip
    • Check details on the slip are correct for stock issued to Tech (Site/tech, Date, Captured by and Quantities to dispatch)
    • Check, sign and file stock dispatched
    • Order and Pick Stock correctly as per slips
    • Ensure all stock transfers are processed into the system
    • Ensure access to the warehouse is monitored and controlled
    • Maintain a clean and safe working environment (good warehouse keeping)

    Link Manager

    POSITION STATEMENT

    • Lead the management and maintenance of fiber optic connections within a network infrastructure and new link provisioning. Responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of fiber optic links, which are crucial for highspeed data transmission.

    Regional Operations Coordinator (FTTH Maintenance)

    POSITION STATEMENT

    • Responsible for receiving, dispatching of link builds and installations tickets. Provide technical and administrative support pertaining to certain processes, for example regarding diagnosing of failures of repair work but also provide support to field staff.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Establish from customer and available DFA systems if customer support is required to resolve the incident, typical customer support is site access.
    • Dispatch the Installations/Link builds Technicians to attend the reported fault within the agreed turnaround time as per SLA
    • Perform any other work-related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time-to time by management.
    • Provide technical support for all internal and external maintenance teams while working on customers faults.
    • Constantly manage the reported incident to meet the required SLA by probing the Field Technicians on the reason for outage and always request proof (field technician feedback; voice, SMS, email, support pics.)
    • Assist Installations and link build technicians with troubleshooting the fibre repairs by using relevant systems (EG: Quick base & SDM) to check the disconnected distance and feedback to the technicians on site
    • NOC Procedures adhered to.
    • Adherence to SLA turnaround times for resolving of queries.
    • Access link base to get relevant information to complete Newlink Builds.
    • Establish information between FTTH Technicians.
    • Detailed report on basic incident feedback and one’s that fall outside of SLA.
    • Manage standby handover, access arrangement, security, tools and site keys.
    • As required by the situation.

    Area Network Owner

    Main Purpose

    • Coordinating the activities on the network to ensure quality, performance of internal and external teams to ensure longevity, quality, and performance of the network. To oversee and manage all activities in a specific geographical area of the Network to ensure, the network is provisioned and maintained to the highest quality.

    ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS & TASKS)

    • To ensure Circuit Provisioning and Network Acceptance is thorough and accurate, and a high-quality network is delivered. (Over Inspection of network standards vs spec) & > 0.5% fails.
    • Ensure that the Network is provisioned for all orders and potential orders. 
    • Coordinate preventative maintenance inspection routines, ensuring that the network is proactively inspected.
    • Conduct planned Network maintenance to ensure the network is maintained to the highest standard.
    • Coordinate the reactive (break fix) maintenance system to ensure that any unplanned issues are resolved as efficiently and effectively as possible. (1,25% of Active subs & NPS 50).
    • Practice Effective People management principles.
    • Maintain and improve the conditions of elements within the ANO's control not limited to POPS, STREET CABINETS etc
    • Ensure efficiency in financial management.
    • Document and maintain as-builts according to field activities
    • Conduct planned network maintenance and scheduled changes to ensure network is maintained to the highest standard
    • To actively manage network incidents throughout the business process

    Requirements

    Knowledge, experience and qualifications

    • Matric
    • Preferably a technical Tertiary Education
    • 4 years in a team leadership position.
    • Preferably experience in a supervisory position.
