Annual Plan and Budget

• Develop and implement branch plan and budget as well as manage realization, based on national operations strategy and national business strategy, in order to give direction to the branch organization and contribute to the national profitability.
• Translate national business needs and operational performance improvement opportunities and incorporate these into the branch annual plan, aligned with National Operations Strategy and Plan and Budget
• Translate the branch plan into SMART objectives for direct reports

Freight Services

• Ensure the execution of freight services within the branch and provide advice to direct reports, optimize and manage consistency, in line with GFF policies, processes and procedures, industry requirements and customer contracts, in order to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Implement Global and Regional policies, processes and procedures, monitor compliance and ensure alignment with local policies and legislation
• Manage the development of CSOP's with new business and manage the implementation in cooperation with BD and IT
• Identify optimization opportunities within the branch and manage realization in cooperation with the Business Excellence department
• Ensure correct and timely input to invoice and billing, file completion process in line with the Global KPIs.
• Monitor compliance on e-services & all other Compliance Requirements

Business Excellence

• Contribute to the identification of best practices within branch and implement, in line with national business and branch strategy, in order to further develop the branch and provide our customers with first-class freight management solutions.
• Identify best practices and analyse feasibility of implementation within other departments/teams
• Monitor compliance to Business Excellence policies, processes and procedures on Branch level

Account Management

• Develop and maintain customer relationships with assigned customers, in line with SLA and customer needs, to enhance client portfolio, safeguard sales revenue and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Function as first line of contact and cooperate with OPS and IT departments within GEODIS Freight Forwarding to ensure optimal customer service. Document actions taken in CRM
• Monitor performance GEODIS Freight Forwarding on specific contracts: Monitor reports, identify shipment exceptions, rectify potential service failures, ensure complaints handling
• Proactively contact and meet customers to identify and prevent issues. Identify cross selling opportunities and develop and present additional suitable profitable business solutions

Management Information

• Gather, consolidate, analyze and report management information on branch level related to operational performance, to ensure alignment with National Operations as well as to ensure realization of national operations plan.

KPA's

• Establishing credit limits and evaluating the creditworthiness of customers.
• Develop and implement effective credit control policies and procedures to minimise credit risk and improve collection efficiency.
• Managing credit and receivable accounts to contribute to the organisation's overall financial stability and profitability.
• Monitoring credit exposure and minimising bad debt risks at the organisation.
• Assisting in collecting delinquent accounts and applying strategies to encourage timely payments.
• Maintaining positive relationships with customers, while effectively mitigating credit risks and ensuring timely collections.
• Conduct regular credit reviews and reassess credit limits based on payment history and changes in creditworthiness.
• Coordinating with other departments such as sales, customer service and finance to manage all credit-related matters appropriately.

Specific Remarks:

• Monitor and manage the credit control processes, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Evaluate and assess the creditworthiness of new and existing customers through financial analysis, credit checks and payment history review.
• Set appropriate credit limits for customers based on risk assessment and maintain accurate credit files and records.
• Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments and address any payment delays or discrepancies promptly.
• Engage with customers to establish payment plans, negotiate payment terms, and resolve billing inquiries or disputes.
• Develop and implement strategies to minimise late or non-payment by customers, including initiating collection actions and negotiating payment plans.
• Generate regular reports on accounts receivable, collections and credit risk to management, highlighting areas of concern or improvement opportunities.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to credit control and propose process enhancements or system improvements when necessary.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers, providing excellent customer service and addressing their queries or concerns related to credit matters.

Applicant's profile

• 5 - 10 years experience in Freight Debt collection
• Excellent communication skills
• Confidence and persistence
• Good analytical & numeracy skills
• Minimum Matric
• Credit management degree / diploma / certificate would be advantageous
