    RMS Material Handler - Parow Plant Snacks

    Responsibilities

    • Receiving and loading of all raw materials on arrival of trucks, including the checking of accompanying documents
    • Maintain good house-keeping according to Food Safety Standards, e.g. stacking pallets
    • Stacking of pallets according to site specifications (e.g. high; pallets = 10high)
    • Issuing of materials to production which includes the transferring of the documentation
    • Compliance with company policy

    Agro Material Handler - Parow Plant Snacks

    Responsibilities

    • Receiving, loading and off-loading of all raw materials on arrival of trucks, including the checking of accompanying documents.
    • Conduct inspections of incoming trucks for foreign objects before offloading.
    • Ensure constant feeding to the fryer (All raw materials).
    • Ensure equipment functionality for efficient and constant supply of raw materials.
    • Engage and report equipment breakdowns to FLM and Engineering artisan.
    • Ensure that raw material supply to production is free of foreign material.
    • Maintain GMP and good house-keeping by ensuring adherence to AIB and Food Safety Standards in corn and potato store.
    • Removal of all production waste in skips, hash and emptying into allocated bins in Effluent plant.
    • Manage and clean spillages that occur during offloading and when moving skips to prevent contamination of municipal drains.
    • Complete potato usage sheet for all loads run by production and record corn silos quantities for usage as well as other stocks quantities recorded shiftly.
    • Ensure cleaning of forklift machines is done weekly and checklist completed.
    • Participate in weekly and monthly cycle counts.
    • Report any faults on forklift machines as soon as they happen.
    • Ensure own safety and that of peers as well as participate in Safety awareness initiatives.

    • Works as a project team member and leads the change management work stream for the initiative.

    Accountabilities

    • Responsible for delivering impactful market performance governance and ad-hoc issue driven analysis to support of delivering the Annual Operating Plan and development of Strategic Plan
    • Support Market Insight for all categories, brands, competitors, channels and ensure translation of opportunities into action plans in allocated categories
    • Capturing and communicating market performance analysis on retail and household panel data in order to support capturing incremental volume and profit for each channel in all PEP other related categories PEP is operating in or interested in investment
    • Support senior management decision making process through market data, in-depth analysis of category, company performances (including share, distribution oppt. in existing business) insights
    • Coordinate and manage agencies groups and relationships.

    • Support commercial teams by building market insight capability/access that helps shape and impact portfolio, brand strategies, plans and activities
    • Ensure all market knowledge is distilled into clear, actionable summaries and implications and is communicated widely, frequently and persuasively
    • Build strong partnerships with best in class Analytics Agencies, and leverage as extensions of Insights to further capacity and impact, as well as to continuously stretch the Analytic Insights agenda.

     

    Market Insight:

    • Build knowledge on innovation in Macro Snacks, Beverages and/or Foods: Tracking comparative market performances of top MS companies’ launches by incorporating multiple data sources (retail panel, household panel and media) and transfer learning to the senior management (of R&D, brand & trade marketing and commercial teams) via periodic reporting.
    • Provide insight on macro indicators: Publishing commercial scorecard that sheds light on channel-based category growth trends and relative performance of PEP regarding overall macro snacks.
    • Continuous retail panel reporting in core and macro categories to track company market performance and to identify share gain & growth opportunities through micro level analysis of competitive market set (price, distribution, stock, depletion).

    Qualifications

    • A 3-year Tertiary Qualification with a strong emphasis on commercial subjects (with review of key subject marks like statistics, economic and finance)
    • 3-5 years functional experience (Analytics, Category management)

    R&D Packaging Specification Writer x2 (Temporary) - Isando Plant Snacks - 2 positions

    What we’re looking for:

    • Understand the PepsiCo PLM and SW ways of working in Foods Pkg spec system (SAP) and become proficient in the specification management system and IT Applications associated.
    • Take incoming Packaging Foods spec information from Pkg. Engineers and digitize the information into Spec system (SAP).
    • Collaborate with Regional ING/Non-ING SW teams to handle routing of specification in spec system from intitiation to final packaging approval.
    • Audit incoming spec information for any omissions of required fields, errors, or needs in linking specifications to associated Finished Good Eaches and Finished Good Case Specifications.
    • Convert attachments to report to TIFF file format when files are requested to print on spec. report (mostly PDF to TIFF).
    • Upload required reports from SAP to local systems as needed (ISL, PDMS).

    R&D Product Development Technologist (Temporary) - Cape Town HQ - 2 positions

    Responsibilities

    What we’re looking for:

    The R&D Product Development Technologist will organize and execute R&D projects related to SA  and nuts projects . These include innovation, renovation, Technical brand stewardship and quality assurance programs. Primary purpose of this role :

    • Support the Snr NPD manager to drive and deliver the Dried fruit and nuts agenda for South Africa in totality.
    • Support key projects as allocated by the Snr NPD mngr to deliver the inno NR targets.
    • Work in cloely with key R&D functions such as FSQA, SQA, SCE, and other functional teams (Packaging) within R&D to deliver key R&D deliverables.
    • Leverage strong technical background to lead on formula design, lab/factory trials, nutritional assessments, shelf-life studies, sensory evaluations and other technical assessments and validations.
    • Support Packaging team on shelflife validations required for packaging changes (sustainability, EPR and other)
    • The planning and execution of projects and project documentation, system ownership and overall delivery to project , system and function cadences related to key systems.

    Primary:

    • Support and where needed lead the dried fruit and nuts agenda for R&D.
    • Deliver against the NPD agenda ensuring the delivery of the inno NR and Vol targets
    • Delivery of prototypes and conceptual samples based on project needs.
    • Own, lead and drive relevant R&D related factory trials both at PepsiCo facilities, 3PM and JV sites. Ensure full ownership to co-ordinate trials with core functions such as SC, Mnfr, Packaging, RTE’s, Commercialisation and other related teams.
    • Own and disseminate trial protocols, costs related to trials and trial reports.
    • Own, update and create (when needed) ZBR (zero base recipes), load requests on digital platforms (SONAR, DELTA)
    • Own and ensure ownership of key samples for post event usage from trials for relevant business needs.
    • Own the NPD stage gate process related to relevant projects, including leading the TSG process to those key projects.
    • Support relevant Project consumer research samples and relevant engagement with the SCE team based on consumer research requirements.
    • Engage actively with R&D teams (eg: FSQA, SQA, Packaging, Seasoning, Regulatory) related to key dried fruit and nuts projects. When required drive Material qualification.
    • Support the development of the H2 – H5 innovation pipeline. Where needed scope and produce relevant protoypes.

    Secondary:

    • Support the productivity team to deliver key cost saving projects on the dried fruit and nuts platform.
    • Where needed engage with the R&D team (Snacks) to drive OHS enhanced scores
    • Ability to use MS office suites, presentation prep and presentation skills to multiple level senior R&D leaders.

    Qualifications
