Provide beverage service to guests in a professional and courteous manner consistent with established standards and service levels.
Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner.
Taking inventory and ordering supplies (with the approval of the Outlet Manager) to ensure the bar and table supplies are well-stocked.
Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate, and balancing the cash register.
Follow all cash handling procedures as per hotel standard.
Ensure that the assigned bar area is fully equipped with the necessary equipment and products needed for mixing beverages and serving guests. This includes stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce.
Maintaining a clean work area which includes removing trash, cleaning tables, washing glasses, utensils, and equipment, mopping and sweeping, and deep cleaning the fridges.
Staying up to date with the food and beverage offerings on the menu, to assist guests with any queries and recommendations.
Responsible for maintaining the back of house prep rooms.
Provide the service staff and manager on duty with a daily out of stock update.
Responsible for restocking the bar of all basic supplies (napkins, straws, glassware, garnishes, and all other necessities).
Ensuring the bar is well stocked with ice, liquor, wine etc.
Assist with ensuring the correct storage, handling, and inventory of all items of stock and equipment.
Manage the processes to ensure no beverage items ever reaches its expiry dates.
Assisting with F&B Attendant duties as and when required, to support the team to ensure that the outlet operates smoothly.
Requirements
Hospitality qualification advantageous.
1- 2 years relevant experience in a similar position within a 4- or 5-star hotel environment
Excellent communication skills.
Exceptional customer service orientation.
Knowledge of silverware – advantageous.
Good knowledge and understanding of food and wine.
Excellent knowledge of liquors, spirits, beers, wines and flavour profiles.

Have at least one of the following qualifications: CIDESCO, ITEC or SAAHSP.

Ensure that assistance is being provided at all times to guests by making reservations, booking tours, checking guests in online for their flights etc.
Handle all guests’ requests, queries, comments and complaints in a courteous and prompt manner, taking the necessary action and ensuring follow-through where required.
Provide information about hotel amenities and promote hotel services.
Anticipate guest needs and build rapport with guests.
Handle incoming and outgoing mail packages and faxes.
Stay self-informed on what activities are available in the city and surrounds; i.e. theatre, the arts, special exhibits, concerts, shows, sports, leisure activities, sightseeing tours, etc. and to establish close contacts with people in these areas to provide information, ticketing, reservations, etc. for guests.
Keep management well informed of any guest’s concerns or complaints, and the action taken.
Assist in the reconciliation of charges originating from the Concierge Desk (i.e., limousines, car rentals, flowers, tours etc).
Work closely with the Valet Parking associates to ensure the smooth handling of guests and customer vehicles.
Work closely with the porters to ensure the smooth handling of guest luggage, message delivery and / or special requests.
Assist with porter duties as and when required.
Ensure the department meets the required Leading Quality Assurance standards.
Follow the set guidelines / SOPs for the department.
Assist with check-in and check-out duties as and when required (welcome drinks, rooming guests, admin tasks etc).
Assist with Front Office and switchboard coverage as and when required.
Requirements
Diploma / Degree from a reputable hotel school.
1 to 2 years’ experience in Guest Services or similar role within a luxury hotel environment.

Mount Nelson Hotel is looking for a Reservations Agent to provide professional and engaging service to our guests to assist with the planning and booking of their reservation.
Making reservations for the Hotel and preparing rate proposals.
Ensure accurate records about guests’ bookings, payments, and any additional information that hotel staff might need when interacting with a guest.
Answer reservations calls in a pleasant and courteous manner, in accordance to LQA standards.
Up-selling, when appropriate, by informing guests of special packages, or higher room category.
Assist & maintain an efficient administration system within the department.
Ensure all quotations are followed up on a regular basis in order to ensure maximum revenue.
Ensure the ability to manage small room blocks.
Actively endeavour to seek and resolve guest complaints, where possible, exercise judgement and escalate it to the manager.
Inform other departments and follow up with regards to special instructions / facilities.
Familiarize yourself and learn each hotel offering, various packages and specials to assist with general guest requests and other outlet bookings on an ongoing basis.
Prepare arrival/guest correspondence (check-in) packs for Front Office on a daily basis.
Assist with booking of transfers, and other outlet requests and reservations such as afternoon tea etc.
Report any rate, system discrepancy to the Reservations Manager and any overbookings.
Inform the Reservations Manager of any complaints, issues or concerns pertaining to reservations, guests and agents.
Ensure optimal utilization of the PMS and maintain knowledge on all room types and its availability.
Sending of invoices, credit card payment links, following up on payments and ensuring all payments are accurately posted against each booking.
Making sure all internal worksheets are actioned and updated daily, such as the PM sheet, Paygate payments, un-allocated deposits etc.
Requirements
Diploma / Degree from a reputable hotel school – advantageous.
2 years’ experience in Front Office or Reservations.
Excellent telephone etiquette and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
Strong computer proficiency and email communication skills.

Allocate payments received to correct guest account and ensure that all receipts are posted.
To ensure the adherence of Standard Accounting procedures in all the accounting operations.
Chair the credit review meetings and decide on action taken to recover outstanding debt.
Ensure compliance with various statutory requirements & manage cash flow.
Assisting with external and internal audit debtors’ queries.
Inform & advise the departmental heads (Sales, F&B etc) on the debt positions of various accounts / guests.
Maintain regular contact with all the corporate accounts and other debtors.
Processing of deposits received in the bank statement.
Investigate all credit requests, determine their credit worthiness and assign credit limits.
Sending out Statements as well as ad hoc invoices on a monthly and daily basis respectively.
Loading of money due on on-line travel agent websites. (Hotel Beds).
Ensure that all folios transferred to city ledger have been checked and correctly transferred.
Review conference and banquet daily to ensure that credit approvals are being sought and deposits being taken according to policy.
Ensure that debtors aging is maintained at acceptable levels.
Review of entries processed to accounts on a detailed level.
Monitor the timely preparation of receivable statements, income and expenditure statements etc. (in conjunction with Credit Manager).
Maintain an unallocated deposit listing for debtors and ensure that deposits are allocated correctly.
Reviewing of daily cash entries.
Assist with month end entries (in conjunction with Assistant Financial Controller).
Periodic Debtor’s Ledger scrutiny to ensure smooth monthly closing of accounts.
To take ownership of top 10 accounts on receivables, follow up / review as the case maybe for collections of monies owed as also refunds, cancellations, commissions and statements (in conjunction with Credit Manager).
Ensure that debtor’s aging is at desirable levels at all times.
Managing of credit card receipt process.
Review of Night Audit reports and supervise on controls where necessary.
Assist with monthly results explanations as well as providing of information.
Assisting with external and internal audit debtors queries.
Efficient implementation of all work-related instructions given by the superiors / management.
Assisting in receipting invoices.
Compile month end reports.
Preparing payments for suppliers.
Processing invoices and liaising with user departments when irregularities arise.
Accurately process invoices in accounts payable system and ensure that batches are posted.
Payment of supplier invoices as and when they become payable.
Sending remittance advices to suppliers after completion of payment run.
Assisting with preparation of monthly reconciliations of creditors’ accounts statements against accounts payable age analysis.
Distributing expense account detail to user departments when required.
Ensure invoices are properly authorised in accordance with levels of authority and allocate it to correct supplier and general ledger account on a daily basis.
Updating current banking details of creditors and liaising with the Financial Controller in this regard.
Maintain records, registers and documents in order to facilitate internal and external audit.
Check refund paperwork and credit card refunds.
Requirements
Experience within a hotel environment or similar is preferable
2-3 years relevant debtors experience
Experience in working with targets and tight deadlines
Computer literate in MS Excel, MS Word and Gmail
Working knowledge of MS Office and databases
Excellent communication skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
