    Projects -Design Engineer (water) – (KZN)

    Bosch Projects, a member of the multi-disciplinary Bosch Holdings group of companies, founded in 1961, has a job opportunity for an energetic and practical Design Engineer – Water. This position will be based in Durban and reporting directly to the Divisional Manager – Water.

    KEY  RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Undertaking project feasibility and master planning studies, including report compilation.
    • Preparation of conceptual designs, detail design, specification and bill of quantities.
    • Construction contract documentation compilation and procurement processes.
    • Effective interfacing and communication with clients, project managers, other discipline lead engineers, design draught persons, contractors and other stakeholders during the project life cycle.
    • Assistance with technical advancement and business development by pursuing technical excellence and maintaining quality assurance on projects.
    • Ensuring that project timelines and deliverables are met.
    • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of statutory procedures and technical standards.
    • Ensure compliance with Bosch Projects ISO 9001/2015 QMS System.
    • Mentoring and promoting the development of junior engineers and technicians.

    The ideal candidate should: 

    • A B.Eng, B.Sc or B.Tech qualification in Civil Engineering.
    • Is professionally registered with ECSA, or be eligible for professional registration.
    • Have 5-10 years’ experience in the Consulting Engineering environment (Water and Sanitation fields)
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Model Maker/Pipe Maker, Revit, ArcGIS, Global Mapper or similar design software is essential. Experience in WADISO and Pipe 2000 or similar design packages for undertaking water network hydraulic modelling and water hammer analysis is essential.
    • Familiarity with GCC2015, SANS1200 standards, is required.
    • Excellent technical writing skills, with good communication and time management skills.
    • Ability to work independently, but also to function well in a project team environment.
    • Self-motivated individual.

    Bosch Projects, a Level 1 B-BBEE company and a member of the multi-disciplinary Bosch Holdings group of companies, founded in 1961, is offering an exceptional Engineer in Training (EIT) opportunity for a recent driven, confident and vibrant BSc / BEng Mechanical Graduate to gain invaluable experience via a three-year Engineer In Training Programme. This position will be based in Durban.

    Roads Engineer representative (KZN)

    Bosch Ulwazi, a member of the multi-disciplinary Bosch Holdings group of companies, founded in 1961, has an opportunity for a Roads Engineer’s Representative. This position will be based on site in Limpopo and reports directly to the Contracts Engineer. This is a fixed-term contract for the duration of the construction works contract.

    KEY  RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • All contractual obligations delegated by the Contracts Engineer
    • Inspection of the Works.
    • Monitor Contractor to ensure requirements of the Works Contract and current best practice are met.
    • Monitor progress vs programme.
    • Implement the Engineer’s quality control plan.
    • Maintain a daily diary.
    • Manage arrangements for performance and acceptance tests.
    • Measurement of completed work and updated monthly cost estimates.
    • Monitor Contractor’s CPG commitments.
    • Monitor Contractor’s compliance with the OH&S Act and environmental obligations.
    • Supervise traffic accommodation arrangements.
    • Manage and mentor Engineer’s site team

    The ideal candidate should: 

    • Be registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering technologist.
    • Have at least 5 years post qualification experience on road periodic / special maintenance projects, road rehabilitation projects or new roads projects for provincial or national roads authorities.
    • Have a good understanding of FIDIC Conditions of Contract and COTO specifications.
    • Be competent with MS Office.
    • Be capable of functioning independently and as part of a project team.
    • Have a valid driver’s license and own transport.
