    Senior Financial Advisor - Cape Town

    Description of the role 

    • Responsible for providing financial advice on both the Investec Life risk and My Investments products to Investec Private Bank clients in accordance with FAIS legislation and according to Investec's professional financial advice guidelines.

    Description of the skill and experience required 

    • This includes doing an analysis of the client's financial affairs (including a Risk inventory), developing a financial plan (Six Step Financial Planning Process) and selling Investec Life and My Investments products directly to the clients should this be recommended in the financial plan. Ensure that proper record keeping of advice is maintained.
    • Perform annual financial reviews with clients
    • Clients will be sourced through Private Bank Marketing or by referrals from the Private Bankers directly
    • Build and maintain close relationships with Private Bankers. Private Bankers are the gatekeepers to the clients and must be included or kept informed in all activities with clients to ensure continued access and support
    • Ensure credibility with clients and Private Bankers through professionalism and demonstration of expertise
    • Assist with the sales and marketing of Investec Life product range with other distribution or service channels. Advisors will also be required to assist the Client Services Centre should phone in clients require advice or more technical (product and advice) support
    • Assist regional Private Bank management with marketing and sales plans
    • Always operate within the Private Bank business strategies and Investec's brand guidelines
    • Develop and manage own sales plan and sales pipeline
    • Extensive regional travel required

    Experience, skill and capability
    Education | Knowledge

    • Relevant tertiary qualification and CFP would be preferred
    • Three to five years' experience in financial services preferable in financial advice or legal advice positions

    Core competencies:

    • Understanding of long-term insurance business and markets
    • Knowledge and understanding of the relevant income tax and estate duty legislation
    • Sound experience with financial planning processes
    • Ensure that the core financial planning competencies are maintained through continuous training and development

    Infrastructure Auditor - IT Internal Audit

    Description

    • Conduct comprehensive audits of IT infrastructure, including on-premises servers, networks, databases, and cloud services (PaaS and IaaS)
    • Assess the effectiveness of IT controls and security measures to protect the organisation's data and assets in both traditional and cloud environments
    • Evaluate compliance with relevant internal standards, and best practices
    • Identify vulnerabilities, risks, and areas for improvement within the IT infrastructure, including cloud configurations and deployments
    • Prepare detailed audit reports, including findings, recommendations, and action plans for management
    • Stay up to date with emerging technologies, threats, and industry trends to enhance audit effectiveness, particularly in cloud services
    • Conduct follow-up audits to ensure corrective actions have been implemented effectively

    Experience, skills and capability

    • Degree qualified in relevant field e.g. Informatics or Computer Science
    • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA); (CISM)
    • Detailed Understanding of Infrastructure systems
    • Experience in Cloud Computing environments
    • A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT auditing, risk management, or IT governance, with a focus on both on-premises and cloud environments (PaaS and IaaS)
    • Auditing of cloud environments
    • Knowledge and strong understanding of IT risks, controls and concepts in the context of group functions in banking and wealth management environments
    • Experience of IT risk methodologies such as CobiT and ISO27000 would be beneficial

    Complaints Team Leader

    Description

    • The Complaints Team Leader is responsible for leading and managing the complaints handling team within the Client Support Centre. The role ensures timely, fair, and effective resolution of client complaints, drives service excellence, maintains regulatory compliance, and fosters a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

    Key Responsibilities

    Team Leadership & Development

    • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of complaint handlers.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
    • Identify training needs and support career development.
    • Consult and process changes with the team for input and to ensure efficiency.
    • Represent the complaints handling team in the CSC Manco and other appropriate forums.
    • Recruitment for the team.

    Complaint Management

    • Oversee the end-to-end complaints resolution process.
    • Ensure adherence to turnaround times, escalation protocols, and quality standards.
    • Monitor trends and root causes to drive systemic improvements.

    Client Experience

    • Champion a client-centric approach to complaint resolution.
    • Ensure consistent communication and empathy in all client interactions.
    • Track and report on client satisfaction metrics (e.g., compliments, repeat complaints).

    Operational Excellence

    • Monitor KPIs such as resolution time, first-time resolution rate, and escalation volumes.
    • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve systemic issues.

    Governance & Compliance

    • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
    • Maintain accurate records and support audit readiness.
    • Participate in risk and incident reviews related to complaints.
    • Create and maintain monthly operational data for CSC Manco and operational risk compliance.

    Experience, skills and capability

    • Proven experience in complaints handling or client service leadership
    • Strong people management and coaching skills
    • Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities
    • Analytical mindset with attention to detail
    • Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks
