    Investment Guidelines Analyst

    Key Responsibilities

    The team consists of three areas: Pre-trade (i.e. prior to trading in the market) analysis, Post-trade incident analysis and Investment / Regulatory restrictions maintenance in thinkFolio. The role will involve frequent and close liaison with stakeholders across all areas of the business. It requires a candidate who is committed to teamwork and has an assured confidence. This role is predominately a pre-trade and post-trade analysis role.

    • Daily Pre- trade analysis for all SA and UK funds/portfolio’s
    • Continually review and improve processes to reduce risk and improve efficiency.
    • Daily monitoring of post trade compliance breaches for SA and UK funds/portfolios and reporting these to the relevant departments
    • Assisting the Team with other BAU work
    • Assisting in ad hoc tasks and projects
    • Interpreting Client guidelines, Regulatory Rules, and Internal Restrictions and coding these into thinkFolio.

    Technical Knowledge and Experience:

    • Newly Qualified CA(SA) with asset management audit exposure / Relevant degree qualification with at least 3 – 4 years relevant experience within compliance
    • Experience within an Asset Management company
    • Good knowledge of Regulatory restrictions
    • Excellent understanding of investment products.
    • CFA Desirable

    System Skills:

    • Detailed working knowledge of an order management system such as Thinkfolio, Charles River, Fidessa Sentinel or Aladdin
    • Bloomberg
    • IMC (desirable)

    Transaction Management Analyst

    Job Overview

    • An exciting role in a dynamic team focusing on the ongoing management/monitoring of existing private market portfolios, in collaboration with various internal teams (included but not limited to investment management, legal, compliance and fund accounting).


    Key Responsibilities

    • Act as contact point for all waivers, consents and amendments on relevant private market portfolio companies (covers infrastructure, credit, private equity and real estate)
    • Provide analysis of requests, synthesise relevant information and co-ordinate internal approvals/response to portfolio companies, keeping a record for audit/reporting purposes.
    • Source, aggregate and present relevant reportable information in format required by fund committees/boards, investors and management.
    • Monitor performance of portfolio companies against tracked covenants and obligations to provide financial/other information, flagging risks as appropriate.
    • Review key information provided by portfolio companies to assess any material change in circumstances.
    • Manage completion of conditions precedent, KYC or other requirements in advance of disbursement of funds.
    • Complete KYC on relevant portfolio companies, liaising with various teams to understand the relevant corporate structure and retrieving outstanding KYC documents
    • Manage internal communication/coordination on KYC as well as quarterly external KYC reporting across private markets
    • Responsible for Annual KYC Refreshes, PEP approval process and outgoing KYC requests across private markets
    • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the investment & other internal teams, facility agents and portfolio companies

     

    Technical Knowledge and Experience:

    • Relevant degree with either an accounting/legal background advantageous
    • 2-3 years relevant work experience at a law/accounting firm, bank, development finance institution or asset manager

    Client Operations Analyst

    Job Overview
    The role of the Client Operations Analyst is to work closely with the strategic client relationship team in the daily servicing of a designated set of clients, invested via an Investment Management Agreement or equivalent, and to provide administrative support and reporting. Each Client Operations Analyst has an allocation of clients. This allocation is dependent on complexity and demands of each client, to ensure a pro-active high-quality service is delivered.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Professional liaison with clients (new clients, restructures, performance, off-market trade queries, etc.)
    • Effective query management and resolution
    • Client reporting (ad hoc, daily, monthly, quarterly, annual – including report generation).
    • Liaison with investment operations, Client Managers, PMs, performance & attribution, dealing, implementations, finance, fund operations
    • Effective liaison with back office administrators
    • Provide information/support to Client Managers
    • Checking monthly, quarterly investment statements and performance reports
    • Updating of CRM system
    • Identifying inefficiencies in processes
    • Contributing to ad hoc projects aimed at streamlining processes

    Person specification  

    Technical Knowledge and Experience:

    • Newly Qualified CA(SA) or B Comm / B Bus Sci or other similar degree or qualifications
    • Client relationship management in the investment management industry ideal
    • 2-3 years back office experience within the investment management industry, preferably in a role that required client interaction
    • Would also consider candidates from an accounting, auditing or consulting background
    • Financial market knowledge (instruments and products)
    • Financial accounting
    • Numerate

    System Skills:

    • MS Excel (Advanced)

    • Reporting any possible and actual breaches, errors, complaints or conduct issues.
    • Reporting any suspicion that a client, investor, or employee may be involved in money laundering, fraud or other crime such as market abuse
