What will you do?
The relationship manager will be responsible for promoting new and maintaining existing business by serving as a proactive relationship manager for assigned accounts. Coordinates marketing, sales and support services for assigned accounts to enhance existing relationships and develop new ones. The relationship manager should further insure successful implementation and management of short term initiatives. This job is focused on the retention and profitable growth of allocated broker portfolios through developing and management of strong relationships with intermediaries and internal business partners. This portfolio is spread over the Cape Town-South region

The Santam Learnership Programme is an entry-level transformation initiative aimed at building a sustainable pipeline of talented people who will support business in meeting its objectives by addressing the present lack of skills within the financial services sector.
A qualification, coupled with the FSCA regulatory exams RE5, will allow learners to apply for professional membership of the Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA) in the designation category of IISA Member (MIISA).
Programme Duration: 12 months

• Minimum pass mark of 50% in English and a Second Language
• Minimum pass mark of 40% for Mathematics or minimum pass mark of 60% for Mathematics Literacy

What will make you successful in this role?
Identify and pursue potential transactions in support of the Santam Group corporate finance strategy.
Analyse and evaluate opportunities, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, start-ups, restructurings and disposals, internally generated or presented to the Santam Group against the Santam strategy. This includes:
Detailed assessments of strategic rationale;
Financial impact and shareholder value creation potential;
Transaction and implementation risks;
Funding alternatives; and
The impact on existing operations.
Structuring, negotiating and closing of transactions, including drafting of transaction proposals and non-binding offer letters.
Detailed review of legal agreements to ensure commercial terms are appropriately reflected and transaction risks are adequately addressed.
Leading the due diligence process for approved transactions.
Makings recommendations to Exco for sign-off on the transactions, within the corporate governance framework, for further recommendation to Santam Board. This includes drafting of Exco and Board transaction approval documents and presentations.
Providing a Corporate Finance advisory service across the Santam Group.
Plan, manage and execute transaction related projects:
Ensure adequate resources and management of these resources (in terms of skills required, internal and in-sourced). This includes interaction with investment banks and legal advisors for larger transactions;
Manage execution of transaction within relevant time framework;
Manage transaction related risks, inter alia feasibility analysis, due diligence, alignment to company strategy and implementation;
Perform appropriate detailed valuations of targeted entities, including scenario analyses;
Ensure appropriate governance requirements are complied with e.g. regulatory approvals (Competition authorities, Prudential Authority, SARB, JSE, TRP), Exco and Board approvals.
Financial support in developing the business cases for Santam’s strategic projects.
Commercial evaluation;
Financial modelling;
Build and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including Exco, BU Heads, Directors, sub-committees, regulatory authorities, legal and tax advisors etc.

Completed articles at reputable audit firm plus relevant post-articles corporate finance experience
At least 5 years relevant experience at a managerial level

What will you do?
A position of Senior Internal Audit Manager exists in Santam Corporate Services to be based in Sandton, Gauteng.
The purpose of the role of the Senior Audit Manager is to a play a significant role in delivering on the internal audit charter and improving the governance, risk management and control in the Santam Group. The senior manager is responsible to ensure that the Internal Audit activities are executed in accordance with the requirements of any specific acts and regulations applicable to the business or the function itself.

Assisting in the establishment and implementation of the overall Santam Group Internal Audit strategy.
