    Senior Specialist Solutions Architecture

    Role Purpose
    The Senior Specialist- Solution Architect role based within Vodacom Business.

      
    Role purpose: 

    • To interact with customers to gather technical requirements, architect customer IT Infrastructure and compile solution proposal documentation in the Fixed, Internet of things and, Cloud and Hosting Services space as part of the Sales process.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Perform role of interface between customer, commercial and technical entities by translating between business requirements and technical specifications.
    • Provide a solution focused consultancy service to clients e.g. property developers, SMEs, business partners and retail customers. This will be in support of sales and presales colleagues, which will entail the analysing of complex customer requirements
    • Provide high level assistance and support prior to solution implementation, during solution implementation and post solution implementation.

    • Cross Domain Technology Architecture knowledge coupled with implementation experience including a combination
    • Industry certification e.g. Cisco (CCNA/CCDA and above), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (preferred).

    Portfolio Product Manager Trade Finance

    Role Purpose

    • The Product Manager: Trade Finance role based within Vodacom Financial Services.

    Role purpose: 

    • As part of the broader Vodacom Financial Services strategy, the incumbent will need to develop, scale and manage a portfolio of lending products, taking them through the stages of the product life cycle as well as:
    • Keep pace with the latest in industry & technology developments as well as the broader regulatory environment;

    Senior Specialist: Legal Compliance Reviews

    Role Purpose:

    • To assist the compliance function in ensuring that Vodacom Group and its subsidiary companies are compliant with all applicable laws, regulations and rules; and all company policies, codes and standards; by providing assurance that effective and efficient controls, systems and processes are in place to manage risks and address applicable requirements.
       

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Conducting audits/reviews efficiently and effectively in accordance with the audit and review plan to identify and report on significant legal control weaknesses within the Company. 
    • This includes audit and review planning, preparation, execution and reporting.
    • Identifying good business practice across Vodacom, Vodacom subsidiaries and International African Companies.

    EHOD: Technology Strategy & Governance

    Role Purpose

    • The purpose of the Executive Head of Division for Group Technology Strategy & Governance role is to lead the creation of the end-to-end regional Technology Strategy for Sub-Saharan Africa by considering Vodacom’s corporate strategy, industry developments and trends, competitive market positioning, and future technologies.

    Your responsibilities will include

    • Create and facilitate implementation of the 5-year, end-to-end Group Technology Strategy for the Sub-Saharan Africa region, through close collaboration with Vodafone Group Technology and all Sub-Saharan African operating companies. Current Tech 2025 Strategy to be refreshed annually, with appropriate localisation to consider different local market contexts.
    • Create and issue detailed, localised technology guidance supporting the effective execution of the strategy across all Sub-Saharan African local markets.
    • Implement technology strategy governance processes to monitor and ensure effective implementation of the strategy. Interface with the Group Technology Architecture team to ensure effective translation of the Technology Strategy requirements into high-level architectures required to deliver on the Technology Strategy
    • Deliver on all regular reporting requirements for the Sub-Sahara Africa region and Vodafone Group reporting calendars (e.g: Monthly Vodacom Group ExCo reports,  Vodafone Technology Leadership Team meetings).

    Technology strategy governance process and mechanisms successfully implemented, with deviations from strategy recommendations clearly identified and highlighted.
    Reporting requirements met timeously and with high accuracy

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • Minimum of B.Sc Electrical/Electronic Engineering degree/diploma or similar
    • M.Eng/M.Sc Eng/ MBA will be advantageous but not necessary.
    • +10 years of experience with technical depth across all technology domains 
    • Strong research and analytical capabilities, and commercial savvy. 
    • Excellent strategic thinking and knowledge of emerging technologies.

    Cloud Solution Architect

    Role Purpose

    • The Cloud Solution Architect is responsible for translating business requirements into end-to-end technology solutions using well defined architecture frameworks. The purpose of this role is to design and implement analytics and ML/AI cloud computing solutions. This includes designing the cloud infrastructure, the cloud application architecture and cloud security architecture.     • Research, investigate and evaluate new technologies and methods to improve delivery and sustainability of data applications and services
    • Make contributions to the process of defining best practice for the agile development of Datawarehouse and Big Data applications.
    • Explain complex problems to management in the simplest possible terms.
    • Work in collaboration with the Group Lead Architect and Enterprise Architecture to meet overall Enterprise strategic direction.

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • 3 year IT or IS degree or diploma or related field is essential.
    • Post graduate qualification within the Data field would be advantageous.
    • 10+ years of overall IT experience with Big Data, Advance Analytics, Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence. 
    • Relevant cloud certification at professional or associate level.
    • Agile exposure, Kanban or Scrum

    Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

    • In-depth knowledge of data as a product & Information best practices.
    • Expert level experience in designing, building and maintaining of On-premise and Cloud service based solutions.
    • Solid expertise using the Cloud well architecture frameworks.
    • Solid experience within the ML and Analytics lifecycle capabilities such as Data Pipelines, Data Processing, Data Storing, Model Lifecycle, Data Operations, Data Management & Data Governance.
    • Experience in using a wide range for data tools such as Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Cassandra, Airflow, Kafka, AWS services, GCP Services, etc.
    • Experience working with serverless services such as Openshift, GCP or AWS
    • Require process as well as people skills.
    • Being able to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
    • Java and Python programming ability would be an advantage
