    Superintendent (Boilermaker)

    Requirements

    • Trade Test certificate as a Boilermaker.
    • 5 Years or more post apprenticeship experience related to below KPA’s.
    • Supervisory experience.
    • Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
    • Computer Literacy (MS Office and SAP).
    • Valid Code C or EC driver’s Licence.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Schedule vehicle and plant maintenance work.
    • Evaluating technical condition of assets to be repaired or maintained and prepare cost estimates.
    • Evaluate annual workshop operation resource requirements.
    • Co-ordinate the implementation of mechanical repairs, maintenance schedules and procedures.
    • Participating operational meetings and presenting maintenance and repair activities including related costs.
    • Maintenance and monitoring of vehicles permanently allocated to the operations in terms of service level agreements.
    • Identify deviations and institute remedial action.

    Sub Council Manager

    Requirements

    • A relevant 3-year Tertiary qualification, preferably a Public - Administration/Public Development and/or Management degree which will serve as an advantage, coupled with proven leadership and management experience at a senior level
    • At least eight (8) years’ local government experience with a focus on community needs prioritization and facilitation development
    • Extensive project and programme management experience
    • Sound knowledge of local government legislation and legislation applicable to the public services, in general
    • Ability to lead and interface public participatory processes
    • A valid Code B driver’s licence with own reliable vehicle.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Manage the administrative processes and systems of the Sub Council through the City's governance structure and relevant legislation and ensure that the transversal management of line functions are facilitated, coordinated, monitored and executed to provide integrated customer centric area-based service delivery, programmes, projects and support to the political structures, line departments and communities
    • Identify community needs, development gaps and priorities and facilitate/coordinate development initiatives to enhance an effective customer centric working model
    • Ensure resource management of the section i.e. Human Resources, Finance, Asset Management, Administrative support
    • Ensure Financial management, i.e. facilitate and manage capital and operating budgets, grants-in aid processes, asset management; in compliance with Council and other legislative policies and procedures

    Environmental Health Assistant

    Requirements

    • A Grade 12 (Senior Certificate), with preferably 1 -2 years’ experience in either Pest Control, Health Education, Water Sampling or peace officer.
    • Peace Officer qualification will be advantageous.
    • PC Literate
    • No Criminal record.
    • Valid Code EB driver’s licence.
    • Physically fit and be prepared to work on weekends and at night, if required

    Key Performance Areas

    Senior Artisan (Construction)

    Requirements

    • Plumbing Trade Test certificate in accordance with S26D of the Skills Development Act, Act 97 of 1998. (Red seal).
    • 3 – 5 years’ post-apprenticeship experience.
    • NQF 3/ Grade 12 will be advantageous.
    • Valid Code C driver’s license.
    • PrDP will be advantageous.
    • SAP literacy will be advantageous.
    • Knowledge of reticulation networks and plumbing/construction processes as well as Occupational Health and Safety Act/ Construction Regulations.

    Successful candidate/s will be:

    Manager Compliance and Oversight

    Requirements

    • A relevant 3-year tertiary qualification
    • A postgraduate degree or CA(SA) would be preferred
    • 8 years or more relevant experience with proven management experience at a senior level

    Requirements

    Operator Mechanical Plant Grade 3

    Requirements

    • Basic literacy (Gr 3 – Gr 9)

    Requirements

    • A National Diploma in Civil Engineering.
    • Registered as a Pr Technician with ECSA
