    Internal Consultant (W&I - Paarl)

    Description of the role 

    Main responsibilities:

    • Executing all administrative duties relating to investments, including, but not limited to: client onboarding & account opening, investments, additions, payments, repurchases, switches and transfers, assisting with and effective resolution of all client queries
    • Educating clients on technology and platforms available to them to improve their investment administration experience
    • Gathering client information – internally and externally
    • Working with external vendors/product providers and LISPs
    • Researching products and competitors
    • Completing of ad-hoc projects and attendance of relevant training courses and client meetings where required
    • Preparing, printing & binding proposals and reviews 
    • Pre-completing and formatting various documents
    • Providing timely feedback within a compliance context on investment reviews, client remediation and client debtors book, and maintain meticulous client records 
    • Initiating, facilitating & completing of platform transfer requests incl. Section 14, Section 37 & Section 42 transfers both in and out 
    • Building and maintaining strong internal and external stakeholder relationships
    • Problem-solving & troubleshooting to enhance clients' experience
    • Efficient multi-tasking in terms of managing multiple transactions with different cut-off times and dates

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Relevant tertiary qualification is essential (Financial Planning/Investment Planning/B.Com) 
    • Basic knowledge of tax and ability to analyse tax statements (upskill on the job if necessary)
    • Basic knowledge of investment products, asset allocation and risk profiles (upskill on the job if necessary)
    • 2-3 years financial planning or wealth management experience advantageous
    • MS Office Suite, Advanced Excel would be advantageous

    Head of Operational Risk - IFB

    Description

    • This role will be responsible for the implementation, embedding and maintenance of the operational risk management framework and associated risk responsibilities and requirements within the context of the Investec for Business division of the Specialist Bank. The role included the leadership and co-ordination of the Operational Risk Management team.

    Responsibilities: 

    Implement the Group's Operational Risk Management Framework and strategy. Ensure all aspects of the framework are executed effectively by providing assurance on the quality and effectiveness of: 

    • Risk Assessments
    • Risk Events (data accuracy requirements as set by the  ILM model with adequate reconciliations)
    • Risk Indicators (KRIs)
    • Scenarios analysis 
    • External Events  
    • Ensure accurate, timely and insightful risk reporting to group functions, summarising current risk exposure and highlighting significant risks, enabling the group and business to make effective decisions within the established risk framework
    • Align operational risk activities with combined assurance methodologies and co-ordinate activities with Internal Audit and Compliance
    • Drive a risk aware culture risk awareness and thinking around risk and control enhancements with all key stakeholders within IFB. Offer continuous education on operational risk management to maintain and enhance the risk culture of the business unit
    • Ensure effective risk governance by identifying risks and managing changes in compliance with group policies
    • Implement the Business Continuity Framework governance requirements (including OHS) and support business to ensure effective business continuity management practices

    Experience, skills and capability

    • Relevant degree
    • Risk management certification would be an advantage
    • A minimum of 2 - 4 years relevant work experience within the financial industry
    • Relevant experience within Investec or any other banking function with products that align with those of IFB
    • Facilitation skills in order to conduct workshops and relevant meetings
    • Analytical skills with the ability to draw logical conclusions from vast amounts of data and information
    • Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Excellent attention to detail
    • Effective time management, ability to work under pressure and ability to prioritise

    External Banker: Entrepreneurs

    Description of the role

    • The Entrepreneurs Segment is at the heart of business builders that turn our South African Economy. We see ourselves as enablers to grow established entrepreneurs and their businesses to new heights. We are uniquely positioned to offer banking solutions for the individual, their family and their businesses. Working in partnership with an Internal Banker, to attract, retain, maintain, and grow strong relationships and value for Investec across a base of clients, with the focus being on the Entrepreneurship space. The role will entail pro-actively selling the full Private Bank offering to these clients (based on a deep needs analysis and understanding of client) as well as further business entrenchment into the Investec Group. This role requires a strong acquisition and entrenchment focus, in partnership with Banking and the Investec Group.

    Core responsibilities 

    • Client acquisition and entrenchment through various network levers.
    • Face to face client engagement that unlocks value for both client and bank
    • Sourcing, structuring and implementing lending transactions (both residential and commercial lending) across various industries and sectors, within the defined target market
    • Proactively connect with clients for embedded entrenchment opportunities
    • Analyse and understand clients' needs, structure and sell appropriate solutions across all Private Banking products
    • Appropriate understanding of business financials and identifying business banking solutions (working capital, long term lending, forex etc.)
    • Develop and maintain Client Action Plans for more complex clients
    • Meeting and exceeding specified targets per revenue stream
    • Collating and presenting credit packs to Credit Forums in partnership with a Credit Analyst
    • Co-ordinating and facilitating deal teams with group colleagues to deliver on mid-market business banking solutions for client
    • Input and drive strategic direction of the business to enhance client experience
    • Develop and implement strategies to increase market share, whilst developing and maintaining key relationships with stakeholders
    • Keeping abreast of Banking and Group changes and impact on clients

    Experience, skill and capability

    • Strong marketing and sales ability.
    • High energy, self-starter, disciplined, sales orientated, structured and focused individual
    • BCom Finance, Accounting / CA (SA) advantageous
    • Strong business/ financial acumen
    • Advanced understanding of credit and risk management
    • Strong financial analysis experience
    • Client facing experience in Banking/Financial services advantageous
    • Understanding of private banking, working capital products, trade finance, long-term lending and FX solutions advantageous
