    VAT Accountant

    Purpose of the Job    

    The role acts in accordance with the financial reporting plan with a specific focus on the quarterly, half year and year-end reporting periods. The role operates cross-functionally with the Non-RSA and Group Finance teams to process VAT calculations and provisions ensuring that all information is timeously and accurately reviewed, providing assurance to all VAT related stakeholders. The role requires meticulous  attention to detail, strong numerical proficiency, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. 

    Job Objectives    

    Prepare VAT Returns: Generate and complete VAT returns for specific countries, ensuring adherence to electronic filing requirements and strict deadlines.Verify accuracy and completeness of data before submission to respective Revenue Authorities.

    Review and Reconciliation:

    • Conduct thorough reviews of VAT reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with  regulatory standards.

    Assist with VAT Audits:

    • Provide support during VAT audits, including preparation of relevant documentation and responding to inquiries from auditors.

    VAT Reasonability Calculations:

    • Perform detailed VAT reasonability calculations to validate the accuracy and appropriateness of VAT amounts recorded and reported.

    System Enhancements:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for system enhancements related to VAT processes. Assist in the development and implementation of system upgrades to optimize efficiency and  accuracy.
    • Maintain organized records and associated filing systems for efficient retrieval and reference.
    • Execute administrative duties related to VAT filings and compliance documentation.
    • Participate in ad-hoc projects as assigned by the VAT Manager, contributing insights and expertise to achieve project objectives.
    • Review Article Master Data

    Qualifications    

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or relevant tertiary qualification, providing a solid foundation in  financial principles.
    • Diploma in VAT or equivalent certification, showcasing specialized knowledge in VAT compliance  and procedures.

    Experience    

    • Familiarity with VAT practices in African jurisdictions is advantageous, enhancing the candidate's ability to navigate regional nuances.
    • +3 years of experience in VAT or similar financial role, demonstrating a strong understanding of 
    • VAT principles and regulations.
    • Experience with VAT fiscal systems, particularly SAP, is preferred, enabling seamless integration into  existing financial platforms.
    • Proficiency in Excel, facilitating efficient data analysis and reporting tasks.
    • Exposure to FMCG retail sector in a Group wide cross-functional structure 
    • Working knowledge of SAP, Excel, and SAP BPC - advantageous.
    • Proven track record in reviewing, reconciling, and analysing financial information, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.

    Purpose of the Job    

    The main purpose of a Stock Clerk for OK Furniture is to manage and control all stock-related activities within the branch such a stock taking, dealing with customer complaints, ensuring stock is available etc.

    Purpose of the Job    

    The purpose of the Business Partner: L&D Solution role is to manage the design, development and evaluation of learning material and solutions for their portfolio for RSA and Non-RSA to strengthen functional and management capability for RSA and non-RSA. The role works alongside the People Partners and other solutions capabilities to design and deliver end-to-end learning solutions that build the employee value proposition and enable business to achieve their strategies and performance goals.

    • Experience within the FMCG, retail sector or similar
    • Demonstrable knowledge of L&D Solutions within the FMCG, retail sector, understanding of the challenges of L&D execution in a Group, retail environment
    • Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, legislation and regulations
    • We value practical learning experiences, in the event that a candidate does not have a degree, demonstrable relevant experience will be considered. A proven track record of delivering learning design and development and demonstrating knowledge of trending learning design and development solutions best practices in a retail environment
