    Administrator & Personal Assistant: Legal Department

    Job description

    We are currently looking for an Administrator & Professional Assistant: Legal Department for our Johannesburg office. Below is a guideline of the role and responsibilities, qualifications and requirements.

    ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Attending to all aspects of the administration of the Legal Department, including time management reporting, WIP reporting, invoicing, following up with clients, etc
    • Reporting to Head of Legal and all matters relating to the administration of the Legal Department
    • Engaging with clients and members of staff
    • Preparing engagement letters
    • Preparing client proposals
    • Daily management and diarising of professional files
    • Managing the diaries of all professionals, including making appointments and attending to travel arrangements
    • Filing tasks
    • Typing, amending and formatting of documents
    • Ad hoc: attending to the personal matters of professionals within the Legal Department

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • At least 5 years’ experience as a Commercial Professional Assistant or Administrator
    • Bcom in Business Administration would be an advantage
    • Service to 5-7 professionals

    SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
    • Excellent written and verbal communication in English
    • Exceptional spelling and proficiency with English language
    • Deadline driven and able to deal with high pressure environment
    • Accuracy and attention to detail is crucial
    • High level attention to detail is critical.
    • Communication & interpersonal skills.
    • Sense of urgency & assertiveness
    • Computer literacy required at an advanced level: Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word
    • High energy level
    • Good judgment

    Trainee Accountant (Saica) Learnership

    Job description

    At RSM we’re always on the lookout for bright and ambitious Trainee Accountants, who want to qualify as Chartered Accountants, to join our offices across the country.

    All our offices offer the audit and assurance electives. In Cape Town and Johannesburg we are also able to offer the tax elective. Below are guidelines of the role and responsibilities, qualifications and requirements for Trainee Accountant (SAICA) learnerships.

    STRUCTURE AND CONTENTS OF THE SAICA TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR TRAINEE ACCOUNTANTS

    • Elective  Skills:
      • Audit and assurance, or
      • Taxation
    • Compulsory Skills:
      • Accounting and external reporting, and
      • Pervasive professional skills, including business ethics, management and leadership, personal attributes and information technology
    • Residual Skills:
      • Financial management
      • Management decision making and control
      • Risk management and governance
      • Taxation, and
      • Audit and assurance

     
    REQUIREMENTS: QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    Candidate must:

    • Be studying towards, or be in possession of, a SAICA recognised B Com Degree or similar qualification from a South African University which is accredited by the South African Institute of Chartered  Accountants
    • Be academically strong and preferably have accounting and maths  at matric level
    • Have good written and verbal communication skills
    • Be willing to go the extra mile and take initiative
    • Be passionate about becoming a Chartered Accountant
    • Have strong analytical ability
    • Have the ability to work under pressure
    • Be deadline driven
    • Have attention to detail  and a sense of urgency
    • Have high levels of accuracy and thoroughness
