    Welding Specialist - Boksburg

    THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITY WILL BE:

    • Be proactive in the EHS risk situation
    • To use the safety equipment and rules defined
    • Evaluate new welders and to define the necessary development plan to have the skills at right level
    • Participate to welder’s review and to evaluate autonomy level of operators
    • Reinforce the welding knowledge of operators identified during the welder review
    • Understanding and application of specifications and standards of products
    • Welding qualification with welding school (management of welding qualifications)
    • Reinforce training (general or individual) in case of welding quality level decreasing
    • To realize welding mock-up requested by welding coordination
    • To work on manufacturing welding activities on bogie frame, according to the specification and standard in place
    • Participate on the working area studies
    • To be a proactive participant to transversal action in continuous improvement Process as P-FMEA, APSYS, SWIP, 5S, Team 5 min meeting
    • implementation of APSYS (Lean manufacturing) subjects related to Industrial Roadmap

    The preferred candidate will meet the following requirements: 

    • Grade 12 / Matric
    • Qualified Artisan (Trade Test) as Welder or Boilermaker (Red Seal)
    • International Welding Specialist (IWS) / International Welding Practitioner (IWP)
    • 5 years minimum as a welding operator in a welding production
    • Experience in welding supervision, coordination and/or training
    • Knowledge of EN/ISO standards (EN ISO 9606, EN ISO 15085, ISO 3834, ISO 9712)
    • Technical and behavioural skills / competencies
    • Knowledge of welding processes
    • Knowledge of None Destructive Testing methods
    • Sound working knowledge of welding procedures
    • Knowledge of welding imperfections
    • Railway industry knowledge will be an advantage

    Business Data Analyst - Johannesburg

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop standard and ad hoc reports, templates, dashboards, scorecards, and metrics 
    • Implement and maintain analytics solutions such as databases, data collection systems, extraction of reports from multiple sources

    Logistics Operator - Nigel

    Key Responsibilities

    • Apply rules in order to operate in an environment that complies with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies:
    • Know and follow all safety, environmental and emergency procedures
    • Respect the safety conditions to handle goods, trolleys etc.
    • Actively participate in all aspects of safety including reporting of near misses and meetings

    System Engineer - Johannesburg

    Key Responsibilities

    • Performing requirement development based on reference and applicable documents in close collaboration with relevant specialists, local and international Standards, Certification, Safety and Customer requirements.
    • Defining system architecture, operational modes and functions based on external/internal requirements.
    • Performing the specialist field (e.g. EMC, Acoustics, and Fire Protection) requirement allocation to the various subsystems in close collaboration with local and international experts.
    • Performing train system FMECA in coordination with RAMS team.
    • Ensuring consistency and compatibility between all the sub-systems specifications.
    • Writing sub-system specification and architecture description in collaboration with the sub system engineers, other engineering sites and other engineering departments.
    • Supporting the Train System Engineer to define applicable train configurations.
    • Ensuring coordination between Sub Systems, various engineering sites and central engineering on interfaces, performances, technical issues resolution during detailed design phase.
    • Participating in technical meetings with the customer.
    • Working with the sourcing department to write technical product specifications for equipment to be procured, holding technical discussions with suppliers, participating in the supplier development and testing of their products.  To discuss with suppliers about non-performing/non-compliant topics in the warranty phase.
    • Drives technical development of the product until GFV in close relationship with suppliers.
    • Defining and performing Train verification strategy in close collaboration with all Engineering departments, Certification & Validation teams, Train Sub System Team and Participating Units.
    • Writing the train level test specifications and sub system test specifications when needed.
    • Performing integration and tuning on the train.
    • Complete management of technical open issues from investigation to modification implementation and problem closure.
    • Performing reporting at project level and métier level (via weekly reports).
    • Supporting TSE for implementation and update of Engineering risks mitigation plan, change order process and QCD optimisation.
    • Prepares DR with suppliers (sub-system/product level) or with TSE (train/product integration level).
    • Manages the technical Sub-System ESLI/RAPR.
    • Ensures that standard key design rules are applied with Platform and Sourcing colleagues.
    • Ensures that the Métiers tools are well applied (connector, costing tool, DRCL ….).
    • Execute activities given by the Train System Engineer (TSE).
    • Update the Validation Plan.
    • Write Train System test procedures.
    • Ensure the timely issuing of the Validation proves (including proves of lower level systems and components) and consolidates Validation files.
    •  Provide structured Return of experience (REX) to feed costing activities, to be implemented in Reference Solutions, and to enrich the CV metier technical repository.

    Minimum Requirements

    • BSc / B.Eng. in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic/ Mechatronics/Electro-Mechanical Degree.
    • Registered or Registerable as a Professional Engineer with ECSA.
    • At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role (preference will be given to candidates with experience in the railway industry).

    Special Requirements

    • General technical competencies in Engineering.
    • Understanding of Pneumatic Diagrams and symbols .
    • Written and Oral communication in English.

    Verification & Test Engineer (V&TE) - Johannesburg

    Key Responsibilities

    • To produce the software validation and integration plan and associated reports.
    • To perform unit tests and software integration testing.
    • To provide support during train integration and/or validation , upon request.
    • Resolving and follow the open points of configuration management raised by the Quality Assurance of the TCMS Software.
    • Delivery of Verification & Tests tools to be used during Validation Campaign.
    • Setting-up the verification & test environment applying the appropriate configuration.
    • Management of validation status of change requests (CR) on the functions and sub-systems in his/her scope : all CR status up-to-date in CR database (in line with test procedures and reports).
    • To ensure proper management and traceability of hardware and software configuration of the validation tools and test benches (producing the release notes).
    • Initiates action plans to solve issues.
    • Supports Manufacturing, Sourcing, Commissioning and Warranty and Maintenance Services on Engineering issues as required.
    • To maintain and assist activities on the Train Lab.

    Minimum Requirements

    • BSc. Engineering or BEng. Degree in one of the following fields:  Computer, Mechatronics, Electronic or Electrical.
    • Self-starting, self-motivating individual with an eye for detail.

    Special Requirements

    • Delivery of TCMS verification & test procedures on the functions and sub-systems in his/her scope, according to his / her Engineering Work Package.
    • Deployment and application of Train Control Solutions development procedures and processes on his / her project.
    • Hands-on development experience of one or more software phases like software development, hardware-software integration etc.
    • Experience in developing in IEC61131-3 software or using model based development tools like Matlab / Simulink, Control Build etc.
    • Familiarity with real-time, distributed controllers and their functioning.
    • Knowledge of real time network protocols like MVB, Ethernet, CAN, RS232, RS 485 etc. beneficial.
    • Practical knowledge of validation methods (boundary tests, equivalent class tests…) beneficial.
    • Practical knowledge of  validation tools (TestStand, model-based testing tools…)
    • Familiar with software development using model based development tools like Matlab / Simulink, Control Build for instance in Railway or Health, Defence, Aeronautical, Automotive domains.
    • Knowledge of network  protocols like MVB, Ethernet, CAN, RS232, RS 485 etc.
