    Driver

    Purpose of Position:

    • To collect and deliver reports; specimens and parcels sufficiently and timeously to and from the wards, hospitals, Dr’ rooms, factories and relevant clients by means of a vehicle.

    Requirements:

    • Grade 10, Valid South African Drivers Licence (Code A), Valid South African drivers licence (Code EB)

    Required Experience:

    • Driving Experience, Knowledge: Basic Vehicle Maintenance, Knowledge: National Traffic Rules and Regulations

    Key Responsibilities:

    Technologist and Accreditation Officer

    Purpose of Position:

    To process specimens according to set criteria and standards on all benches in the
    Microbiology Laboratory and to provide training to the employees on all benches. Perform accreditation and administrative tasks in order to ensure effective quality standards in the department are upheld.

    Requirements:

    • HPCSA registration as a Medical Technologist (Required), National Diploma in Medical Technology / BSc Degree (Hons) (Required)

    Required Experience:

    • 6 months experiential learning in Microbiology medical laboratory or 1-2 years working experience within a Microbiology medical laboratory

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Examine MGIT cultures in order to ensure effective handling and processing of MGIT cultures, Interpret positive blood cultures in order to ensure that correct results are delivered timeously, Maintain good client relations to promote the image of Ampath,
    • Perform accreditation and administrative tasks in order to ensure effective quality standards in the department are upheld,
    • Perform Automated identifications and sensitivities in order to ensure effective handling and processing of the identifications and sensitivities, Perform general tasks in order to ensure that best practice is upheld within the laboratory,
    • Perform receiving and resulting tasks on the Meditech system in order to ensure correct handling, preparing and recording of specimen and results,
    • Perform safety-related tasks in order to ensure that the relevant safety protocol is upheld, Process specimens on benches in order to ensure sufficient delivery of results.
