    Surveyor - Witbank

    The incumbent in this role is responsible for assisting and effectively conducting all mine related survey activities of the operation.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Measuring, calculating and reporting of monthly volumes and tonnages.
    • Ensuring that all survey is done in accordance with the survey procedure.
    • Complying with Health, Safety, Environment and Community requirements and standards.
    • Measuring Stockpiles and surface working as per the Operation’s requirements.
    • Providing accurate survey data.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Grade 12.
    • Chamber of Mines Basic Survey Certificate.
    • Chamber of Mines Elementary Survey Certificate.
    • Driver’s license (Code EB/08).

    Minimum Experience

    • 3 Years’ experience as a Survey Attendant.
    • Experience in an opencast mining environment and mine valuation will be advantageous.
    • Proficiency in Survey Software programs and equipment such as Model Maker, Micro Station, Total Stations, GPS, as well as MS Office.

    Treasury Specialist

    OVERVIEW:

    • The Regional Treasury function in Africa supports all of Glencore’s Africa operations across commodities for both their marketing and asset divisions. The function is responsible for FX risk management, liquidity management, trade finance, bank facilities/ intercompany funding structures, capital structuring, managing exchange control and local regulatory requirements and managing the relationships of our banks in the region.
    • The Regional Treasury Specialist will support the Regional Treasury function ensuring it meets its key objectives whilst continually searching for opportunities to streamline, optimize, generate efficiencies, and add value to the Group.

     Work Experience:

    • Minimum 5 years` experience in a similar role, commodity / Africa experience and advantage.

    GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

    • FX Risk Management – devising strategy, implementing procedures and execution.
    • Liquidity Management – management of funding requirements, long term liquidity analysis and planning, implementing structures required to efficiently manage cash whilst adhering to regulatory and legislative requirements for the related jurisdictions.
    • Trade Finance – issuing and negotiating LC’s, guarantees, performance and rehab bonds. Working with Back Office to ensure all deals are recorded and accurately updated in our systems.
    • Facilities – Negotiate and implement bank facilities as required by the business, ensure intercompany loan documentation is always kept up to date to cover any intercompany funding.
    • Reporting – Develop and prepare various weekly and monthly treasury reports.
    • Bank Relationships – actively maintain our relationships with the various teams within the bank.
    • Drive Treasury projects to ensure the Africa Treasury structure always follows best in class principles.

    Study Manager

    The Opportunity  
     The primary purpose of the Study Manager role is to deliver the Pre-feasibility Study (PFS) including the study report, project controls, the project valuation, and the management of the study’s workstreams including, but not limited to, water management, waste management, geotechnical work, infrastructure and services, engineering approvals, the feasibility study plan, and the project execution plan. The Study Manager is accountable for the quality of the PFS deliverables and ensuring that all applicable guidelines and standards are met or exceeded. 
     
    You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks including:  

    • Develop the Project Scope by understanding the Glencore Copper Asset business drivers and integrating these into a meaningful plan. 
    • Maintain continuous alignment of project scope with business objectives and making recommendations to modify the project to enhance effectiveness in achieving business results or strategic intent. 
    • Influence decisions based on understanding of the strategy and commercial drivers and contributing to the implementation strategy within the project. 
    • Implement the project in accordance with approved parameters (e.g. HSE, scope, quality, budget, schedule, etc.) to deliver an operating asset. 
    • Work closely with key stakeholders to continually understand and update business critical project deliverables. 
    • Follow a rigorous problem-solving methodology, analyse a broad range of data, and interpret to deliver solutions to business-critical issues. 
    • Design and implement innovative approaches to problem solving to accelerate delivery time on projects and other step change improvements. 
    • Ensure the right systems and processes are in place and that these are applied in the Contracts/ Project. 

    You will have the following skills and attributes:  

    • 10+ years of direct experience in engineering principals, practices and standards. 
    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field. A Masters’s degree is advantageous. 
    • Project Management Qualification preferably e.g. PMI - PMP 
    • Proven track record in leading and managing studies for projects within the mining industry. 
    • Proven ability to optimize project design and to deliver innovative thinking and design stage of the project 
    • Excellent project management skills, including planning, execution and monitoring. 
    • Ability to analyse and interpret technical data and make informed decisions. 
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels. 
    • English language skills required however bilingual (French) would be considered beneficial  
    • Ability to travel to Glencore operations in the DRC on extensive basis.
